I purchased a vendor account on Sheep about a week ago. I find out 2 days later that withdrawing has been taken down and is unavailable. I didn't get any sales on my vendor account during the week I was a vendor, because I removed my listings when withdrawing became unavailable. I find out this morning that Sheep is definitely a scam and the $500 I paid for my vendor account was a total loss. On my buyer account on Sheep, I had about $2,000 worth of orders in escrow. A $2500 total loss. So now I probably won't be able to get verified as a Sheep vendor, because I don't have any sales, and I'll have to purchase another vendor account here at SR or over at BMR. I'm sure you can see why I'm a little on edge at this point lol.

I'm sorry to hear that, that is really bad timing :(

You sure? Why is new vendor registration and vendor verification closed for a week right now? It's going to create a huge backlog of vendors trying to get registered and verified from the fallout on Sheep and BMR, which will make both processes take weeks.

Vendor registration is closed to allow the admin team time to catch up and yes given what's just happened there is going to be quite a backlog assuming people will be looking to create accounts on Silk Road.

DPR will be best placed to comment on how they plan on managing the inevitable influx, going to be a busy few weeks no doubt.

From what I gather, vendor registration is closed right now to allow the staff to get caught up and to free up time for other things. I'm under the impression that no vendor verification or registration will happen until December third and fourth. How does the admin team plan on managing the influx of new vendors? So far they decided to disable vendor registration for a week and not manage it at all. That will certainly create even more of a backlog.

As I said i my previous post IllegalFlowers, DPR will be best placed to make comment on how the admin team plan on managing the inevitable influx.

Sheep is currently by far the biggest market. I don't see how people could think that this incident doesn't have implications for all of us.

It wasn't an inappropriate thing to ask and I hope DPR makes a statement myself which I am sure they will soon enough.

The demise of sheep will cause us some logistical challenges, as you know registrations are currently closed to allow the staff chance to clear the backlog, I'm guessing that backlog just got a lot bigger.

Well to be fair I did state several times it was an obvious scam, it just didn't seem right though that some vendors could make withdrawals. In hindsight I guess that was all just part of their plan, create some doubt that things might actually work out by having a few people report they were not having any issues, it only takes one or two I guess to give the masses hope.

What else is there to say? I was posting all day yesterday and given what some vendors were still claiming I decided to sit back and see what happened. I was 99.99% sure it was an exit scam, stated as much several times then some vendors came on stating they could still withdraw so I decided to withhold further judgement until things were irrefutable.
