Customer Support / Re: Old vendor needs help!
« on: December 18, 2013, 11:34:42 am »
The only way to verify old vendors was via a verification process that involved the old forums and they are now gone so the only way for you to open a vendor account is to apply for a new account, pay the bond etc.

Sorry Wrathmore but that's where things are now at, hope to see you back soon.

flux101 I cannot update you or the community because I am still waiting for answers myself.

I wish I could tell you more but I can't, as I have stated I am in regular contact with a number of people who appear to have been disadvantaged by this issue and when I get a response I will update you.

Please be assured I am not brushing this off or diminishing the significance of the impact this has had on some people, I am doing all I can basically but I know that will not be enough for some of you.

Cirrus i couldnt agree with you more, this thread is garbage, if your not happy with things happening here at SR then fuckin leave and go else where, SR will rise above :)  its coming

I am going somewhere else as soon as I deal with the SHIT service on SR and get my orders squared away. SR1 was a great idea, SR2 was launched by a pack of greedy hyenas who are going to either get busted because they only know about half as much about security as they claim or they'll fuck up somehow else. The 99% downtime is proof enough.

Cloquet you are entitled to your opinion and yes things are far from ideal just now but we will overcome these current challenges and we will get the site sorted out. It may not happen fast enough for you or others but we are determined to make this happen.

I think it is unfortunate that you feel the need to cast dispersions on the character of those running this site, you make assumptions regarding how this or that should be done when you know little of what is being done or the challenges we face.

Customer Support / Re: Can someone please help me? I need bitcoins
« on: December 18, 2013, 05:12:35 am »
Hi, I need Bitcoins, and am not receiving any response from the person I ordered from. I have a vanilla reload card with $136.05 on it. Please message me if you can help me, please have credentials to prove you are not a scammer. Thank you guys.

I'm hoping to place an order and receive it before christmas, and waiting on this is really killing me. Also, if someone needs to do any type of trading, let me know. Thank you, but I primarily am focused on getting the bitcoins.

You are going to have to explain your issue more clearly, I lack clarity on what you are saying.

A thread so important and where the fuck are the mods? I agree SR has a lot to work on and they are still in their infancy but the total lack of communication is unacceptable. I see people freaking out day after day on the forums with legit reason to do so and there is absolutely no reassurance or communication from anyone on the staff. I'm an average user and I've found it hard to relate to most of the problems users have on here but that's not to say that I could never run into a problem with the site and if I do I expect some sort of customer service. I agree most of the problems users run into have simple solutions that can be easily rectified by reading the forums and such but then I come across a thread like this and see that the staff is once again absent. I would be furious if I didn't receive my order and took it to the "resolution center" and one day I log on and see that my funds have been released to the seller. I sincerely believe that things like this will make buyers go to places like TM and can you blame them? I already know the criticism I am about to receive pertaining to other market's security and such but it seems there is also a risk doing business here as well. People naturally take risk when there is high reward, including me. All in all, SR could really benefit by the staff being present (like they used to be) more often in the forums, I mean this is a job. If you can't handle it, resign.  I've noticed that even a post from the mods stating that "they don't know what's going on but will try and reach the admins and gives us some information" eases everyone's mind. It's actually pretty simple.

spaceshit: please look at my post count and my post history, I am forever posting updates where appropriate.

Every few minutes a new thread pops up demanding an update and where are the mods and this is a scam, it is getting out of hand.

Updates are posted regularly by myself and other mods including DPR and this issue is one I am personally seeking some answers on because I am in regular contact with a number of buyers who have been disadvantaged by the auto finalize feature.

I appreciate tensions are high and this is causing some people concern but please understand we cannot always give you the answers you want right when you want them.

Newbie Discussion / Re: ~~SugarMama is back! FIRST 2 USER SPECIAL!~~
« on: December 17, 2013, 08:15:39 pm »
Can you verify yourself with your old PGP key?

Some friendly advice guys; stay clear of this until Sugar Mama has been verified as a vendor. For those of you who don't know, Sugar Mama was a big bitcoin vendor on the original SR. I reckon this is someone piggy backing off that username. I dealt with Sugar Mama a few times and I reckon she would have been more forthcoming with information when re-introducing herself to the new market place.

^^^ I was just about to post the very same thing.

If you are indeed who you claim to be you need to verify yourself, if you cannot do that you should be treated with extreme caution and not trusted.

ATTENTION:

DPR is withdrawing all funds from Silk Road right now

Seeing you come on the forums making posts like this underscores Sarge's decision as a good one.

Silk Road Discussion / Re: Why wont SR DDOS back?
« on: December 17, 2013, 07:56:40 pm »
again, where the hell is the proof that TM is DDOSing SR? From everything that has been revealed and said so far, DPR seems like the dick here. No proof that TM are scammers, or that they're DDOSing, he just revealed they have shitty defenses. Maybe we could help them instead?

Great fucking attitude you have there, I'm having one of those moments as I type I know I should stop but seriously what the actual fuck, we are doing all we can to get this place back up and you post some shit like that.

The site is under DDoS attack and we are working on getting it back up.

There isn't anything more we can tell you just now.

China news that prompted crash fake btw. Go check online. CNY is recovered to 4100. It was an elaborate hoax. Seriously. Go check the exchanges. I'm waiting. This was a dump and pump of epic proportions.

And it is already on the bounce, rise my pretty rise!

Was able to get in -- sort of -- although I'm not sure how, as I didn't have to answer a captcha.  (No captcha was ever shown so that I could even try.)  Just hit reload [F5] as I had been doing every several minutes and . . . was presented with a text-only version of SR.  Tried to read a new message but couldn't get to that page.

The disturbing thing is my account balance went back to where it was two days ago, before I'd deposited to SR.  Couldn't get the "check deposit addresses for new deposits" function to load, so I've no idea what my balance will be when things get back to normal.  I can see where this could turn into a *real* pain in the ass for the crew to sort out once the DDoS gets fixed.

if my bitcoins are missing, im going to be fucking pissed

My bitcoins are missing as well. Thankfully it wasn't much, but still very frustrating. My BTC have been disappearing and reappearing all weekend. Although today they have not come back yet. I am assuming this is all due to the DDos attacks. Seeing the site in a previous form is common after having your servers go down. The more technically inclined can chime in on that if I'm off but I'm fairly sure that's the case.

Also it would appear vendors have been indiscreet with their private URL so that is also under DDoS attack now as well.

Possibly a stupid question - but what do you mean by their private URL?

Vendors were given a private URL during the DDoS so they could log on and process orders.

Anyway it seems we are back up.

Thats bad news but better than no news. Thank you for updating us.

I love how the community here is. But damn. We need answers. We are being kept blind again. Its been a couple of hours already and no update. Something fishy is going on. site goes down during the BTC crash? I hope I'm wrong.

Site is down, we are under DDoS attack again.

No problem and yes it is very annoying.
