I initiated a transaction from bitstamp to SR Wednesday evening and it is still not showing up in my SR account. Opened a ticket with SR but have not heard back yet. Any help would be appreciated.

No one can help you regarding delayed deposits from the forums I'm afraid. If you have submitted a customer support ticket an admin will get to it shortly, normal wait time is 24 hours or less.

In the mean time though have you checked on blockchain to see how many confirmations the transfer has had?

Really?! ... alright - so I better cut the quotes out as I don't want to make WalkaBoot look like an idiot or the like -- this isn't my concern.

Thx for that information dude :)

Definitely no need to include quotes in your customer support tickets or in the resolution center no, just make reference to the points you want to make and let the admins go and read for themselves.

Rule no.1

Do not feed the trolls, they live for a reaction so the more bites they get the more they post, just ignore them.

I hear you loud and clear mate!! Surely you must get sick of dealing with these assholes day after day?

Goes with the territory mate and they are not worthy of my time or energy, nor anyone's for that matter.

By the way, that's some funny shit in your signature block  ;)

If needed SR admins can access to all the communication between you and the vendor to help them make determinations in resolution cases.

In circumstances where a vendor is found to be scamming and the admins are required to adjudicate on the resolution case then no your stats will not be affected.

I recently did an interview where I was asked what I considered were the greatest threats to SR users.  I gave the usual answers, but later I realised that there was one I missed.  This post, and StExo's sticky analysis, confirm it.

When SR began, it was small and only the most tech-savvy and security-conscious people accessed it.  But in the past two years, it has been given so much mainstream media (yes, I realise that includes some of my articles) and has become so simple to access, looks so professional and is discussed so openly, I think a bunch of people honestly believe they're not doing anything "that" illegal.  After all, if it were that bad, it wouldn't be so easy to do, right?  It's a bit like downloading stuff from Pirate Bay - technically you can go to jail for it, but how often does that happen, right?

Either that, or people are deluded that it is "click-and-go" safe and they don't REALLY need to go to the extra effort to learn PGP or take other precautions that were once no-brainers. After all, if it were dangerous, heaps more people would have been caught.  LE are powerless, right? You can taunt them and there's nothing they can do!

But drug use is much less accepted by the mainstream majority than pirating the odd movie. And using the site is only 'safe' when all of the anonymity precautions are rigorously adhered to.  And whilst LE may direct resources elsewhere when a market is operating quietly and off the radar, they will throw a ton at it if you start sticking your finger up at them.

I think we will be seeing a lot more arrests due to these two types of complacency from users.  Or the security-conscious will simply migrate somewhere safer.

Anyone who thinks our enemies are sitting idly by twiddling their thumbs totally befuddled about what to do re SR is living in a fantasy world. This place is a massive fuck you to the systems of coercion and control so poking the bear is definitely NOT a good idea.

With regards to people finding this place and having absolutely ZERO consideration for their personal safety, well all I can say is that I have been absolutely flabbergasted by some of the things I have seen in my time here.

The saying "just because you can doesn't mean you should" has never rung more true in the sense of downloading Tor and finding a URL. There have been some high profile cases of people busted in AU for SR related activity but in reality it was their IRL activities that brought them to the attention of LEO.

I fear we will be seeing a lot more cases of people coming into contact with the CJS as so many people treat this place like eBay doing incredible things like creating market site accounts under their real name and/or user names they use for other internet accounts that pop up in a Google searches.

... and that's just for starters... the list just gets scarier as demonstrated in StExo's thread so I'll leave it there for now.

So as I understand it this has been brought to the attention of the admins and they will be investigating the allegations being made, if proof of rule breaking is discovered then action will be taken against the vendor concerned.

motek please just deal directly with the admin team now you have raised this in an open forum, anyone else who has experienced issues will I am sure now come forward however everything else in this thread is pointless drama as all it does is invite anyone with an uninformed opinion to have their say.

Glad you called it as BS right from the get go mate but as someone else rightly pointed out this type of scam is becoming ever more present and the sad thing is it must be working some of the time to keep them coming back for more. Next time you see a thread warning about the latest PM scam attempt, I dunno maybe something along the lines of "send your BTC to this address and be allowed membership to SR2 the exclusive club" and then go to blockchain and see how many people have fallen for it, it is fucking scary I tell you!

You will never be sent a legitimate PM from SR asking for BTC and any threats or messages with links should just be reported and deleted.

Very good news indeed! This must mean that my gram is on its way!

No it doesn't I'm afraid, I would not get too excited because of one forum post.

Newbie discussion / Re: Scammed at NORCALKING

In addition to NCK's response above I would like to add you were NOT scammed by anyone so please edit the title of this thread as you are making unsubstantiated accusations that could hurt a vendors business.

At the very worst your order was not processed as fast as you would have liked and it would appear to be a valid reason for that happening.

Anybody have any mass on why I had to sign for my most recent package?  I'd really like to have some closure before I move forward.  Any help is greatly appreciated thanks SR Family :-*

You should never sign for anything that you did not order with tracking. On the very odd occasion a vendor may make a mistake with delivery instructions e.g. send with tracking when none was requested but that is very rare. The classic CD involves you being asked to sign so if you get asked a a general rule your response should be to decline as I would rather lose an order than lose my liberty.

Seems like you got your order ok though and if it was a CD they would have come through the door a few minutes after you had taken delivery so this would seem to fall into that rare case of vendor error, personally I would be PISSED with the vendor if they did that to me.

This would seem like nothing more than a deliberate attack on a vendor, possibly the competition?

Before jumping on this please take a moment to ask yourselves what is the motivation behind this persons actions and do I want to be a part of that.

The number of people who fall for this scam is staggering and as Libertas correctly pointed out as soon as you are phished your coins are withdrawn off SR.

As more people discover SR without reading the SR wiki or taking some some in the forums first the number of people getting scammed in this way will just continue to increase I am sad to say.
