This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
Fact of the matter is that this 50 post rule sucks but is necessary. I'm not trying to shoot the messenger (nomad), but telling people to quit "overthinking the section" is subversive. You aren't fooling anyone. Keeping everyone locked up in the Newbie thread harms the quality of posts in and out of the Newbie thread, excluding posts by scammers, spammers, and illegitimate reviewers. And that's what this is about. Ability to post in the silk road forums is not a civil liberty, I understand that. whatever. But don't pretend that you're doing anybody a favor, SR administration is merely doing what they feel they have to in order to protect the integrity of the forum at large. And THAT should be their stance: Sorry SR forum members, but we need to do this to protect the quality of the forums in the long run- once you have 50 posts and waste a ton of time in the Newbie forums it'll be like none of this ever happened.
I don't think that's the case at all. While there are a lot of spamming and other unhelpful activities going on in that subforum, I've been rather active there answering questions from new members. I made this account and it's sequel to help out the newbies. I've seen other seasoned members with new accounts down there too helping out a lot. I just don't think people are taking the time to pay attention and notice these things.I've notved vendors and othes past 5- helpimg but sill waitng a trponsefro admin.
I will say that the mods HAVE been very active(more than they normally would) in the new subforum actively helping it's inhabitants.
The newbie section will never work efficiently if you do not divide it in proper sections
If you want to go for "apartheid" there is nothing we can do.
But at least put some REAL organisation into this instead of just getting rid of "us" by storing us all in one room.
That will at least make this new rule less annoying and give it some purpose for BOTH sides.
yes I have recieved bad karma. OH WELL there is really nothing you can do about it, because it seems like when you give your opinion there is always going to be someone who disagrees with it.I'm kinda a +karma fairy myself so...
If I went that route would my refund% or any other buying stat be affected? I wouldn't want that to happen for obvious reasonsNo matter how the situation is handled unless your eat the loss or the vendor happliy goes for your request on the first attempt something will occur to your stats...mine arent perfect but I know stats are important, so try to be as nice about everything and suggest as many solutions as you can til you can anymore.
So then the theory is that the only people who can be trusted to talk to newbies are moderators and... other newbies?
The moderators are responding to the questions as they can vest answer newbie questions without fear of misinformation or alternative reason for spreading misinformation among the new members with deception in mind.
I've made myself more than available to them and If I cant answer their questions....who can?

If the powers that be truly feel that this is necessary, then so be it. If the majority of people can't be trusted, then I guess nobody should be. With that said, the last thing I'm going to say about it follows.
It's incredibly irritating to see the recent posts page filled with newbie section posts that I can't answer even if I have life saving information (not that the fate of entire worlds hang on my every word or anything, just pointing it out).
Also... whom does this protection serve? The users of Silk Road and the forums? Excellent, except I don't think that's being accomplished as efficiently as it might appear. There's a problem somewhere with this logic: so if I were brand new, my well being and the community as a whole would be cared for by restricting me to the newbie section. Fine then, no problems so far. But what's the motivation for this? Presumably the comfort and enjoyment of the majority (I kind of doubt Buddha appeared to DPR in a dream and said it would please him or something, so I assume it ultimately must come down to maximizing the general comfort and enjoyment of users).
... but, um... aren't the ones who've been around and feel like this place is kind of their home, users too? So... that goddamn page full of newbie posts that I have to ignore because I can't do a damn thing with them -- the ones that totally look exactly the same as the other sections I can interact in -- all of those spam-like messages must not bother me at all, because otherwise it would be greatly impacting my user experience and diminishing my comfort and enjoyment. I mean it only disrupts the primary method of interacting in a faster-than-twice-a-day-basis on the forums here... yeah, no biggie. I doubt anybody who's got more than 50 posts and/or has been around for awhile gives it a second thought.
Oh, except... it does bug me. A whole fucking lot sometimes, actually. I don't really care about not being "allowed" to post there, I don't feel belittled or anything like that. It's the simple fact that I have to be faced with questions and comments that I have no means of responding to and that blend in exactly like regular posts -- they're harder to overlook than spam. A lot harder. That's what irks me. So why's it seem like the ones getting the most consideration are the ones who just showed up yesterday? Now... if you (whoever's reading at this moment -- yes, that would be you right now) have forgotten my first two sentences in this post, you should go back and read them again, because I meant them.
It just seems a little biased in favor of new users, is all I'm saying.
wouldn't it be ironic if people started spamming this post to get their post count up?What would be ironic is if members that spam start getting banned for spamming just like very do in the rest of the forum.
Ya well i understand when the vendor has actual reviews getting only 50% if a package doesnt show. but in this guys case he has 0% positive feedback and 3 of 3 reviews from people saying he scammed them like me.
does SR give 100% back in OBVIOUS scam cases?
What I want to know is "At what point does Nomad learn spelling and punctuation?".
