Libertas already addressed this : http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion/index.php?topic=862.0

Lol Libertas beat me to it by seconds

I'm sneaky like that! :P

I have noticed an awful lot of threads either being outright deleted, or moved to various other subforums owing to (I assume) the general theme of their content.

Silk Road discussion, by its very definition, is the discussion of issues, topics and activities related to Silk I right?

I, like most people right now, come to these forums for the discussion - what can w do to keep some of the conversation here? This subforum's activity level continues to decline over the past few days, presumably because lots of topics of discussion keep randomly disappearing.

Thoughts? Or should this have gone into 'Site suggestions'? :P

Threads in this forum should be centered around Silk Road issues.

Threads about Bitcoin, vendors returning / looking for vendors, discussing other marketplaces etc. should be started in the appropriate forums, Security, Rumor Mill, and Off Topic respectively.

All sub-forums contain a description below them stating the subject matter that that sub-forum will contain. 'Silk Road Discussion' does not, as it is for just that - discussion about Silk Road and issues directly related to it.

Please see my related thread here: http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion/index.php?topic=862.0

Silk Road Discussion / Re: If a thread is 'missing', please read this.

Some forum boards allow a line that says "This thread has been moved" so that it doesn't appear as if it's completely disappeared, with a hyperlink to its new location, is that an option?

Yes, that is an option and we initially did that on the old forums but moving the threads without leaving such a notice ensures that the forums aren't cluttered up with locked threads. If you have posted in a thread and it has been moved, you can see any new replies by clicking the "Show new replies to your posts" button in the top left corner beneath your username.

Note that we have been moving threads that are off topic to their relevant sub-forums, and will continue to do so.

Please check those sub-forums before starting a thread stating that the the thread you were posting in has been "deleted" and stating that "censorship is rampant" etc., and please ensure that you're starting discussions in the appropriate sub-forum.

You should not be entering your old login credentials anywhere at all as a successful login ties you to that account if you have Javascript enabled and there's something embedded in that page to de-anonymize you.

If there's any news about the old site (which there won't be, but if there is) there will be a PGP signed message from me about it.

Full Definition of HUBRIS:  exaggerated pride or self-confidence

just sayin'

I have always warned against getting comfortable, and by extension, getting confident. When you get comfortable you get confident, when you get confident you get cocky and when you get cocky you get caught. Nobody posting here should be posting anything linking back to them. The Silk Road forums were associated with a free-market website, the largest category of which was drugs that are illegal in most jurisdictions - common sense dictates that posting anything that could be in any way revealing would be reckless in the extreme. Misdirection and disinformation is key - don't make law enforcement's job easier than it already is.

If I had released any information that could possibly link back to me I wouldn't be here right now, that's what I'm getting at. Confidence is a good attribute to have in certain situations. Posting on a forum associated with a marketplace that law enforcement have a great hatred for is not one of those situations.

"That escalated quickly. I mean that really got out of hand fast. Brick killed a guy!" - really guys, this is all getting a little crazy. 'GrahamGreene' attempted to blackmail me with false information and that, of course, received a resounding 'no'. I decided that instead of engaging him I'd just ignore him, mainly because I don't have the time nor the inclination to toy with coachella420. If I had heaps of time on my hands I'd enjoy the back and forth exchanges where he proves himself to be severely lacking intelligence and common sense, time and again. Unfortunately I don't have that time, so my entertainment will have to wait until he reappears.

If I had anything to worry about, and if anybody actually had anything on me, I wouldn't be here right now. There are no 'breadcrumbs' for him to follow so I'm not engaging him further.

Also, this sums up the "PGP image" doing the rounds:

Coachella's getting pretty good at photoshop guys.

Lol what photo shop. Bring up encrypted message from libertas, type whatever the fuck you want in the notepad and claim its the decrypted results of that message. But in reality its just shit.

I just wanted to jump in here to add that 'cigrattesmokingman' is also the poster 'GrahamGreene'.

This whole debacle likely stems from 'GrahamGreene's attempt to blackmail me by claiming that he has uncovered my identity and asking for payment in return for not revealing it, providing "evidence" to me to support his claims, all of which is incredibly far off the mark. I am ignoring any further messages from him, and I believe it's actually coachella420 / DealerOfDrugs / InfiniteSource / HallucinatingHorse / lookmomthedeepweb trying to stir up more drama.

To be frank, I'm surprised he hasn't reactivated his 'Libatard' account with the "googly eyed avatar" that always got a laugh. Instead he's just using my current avatar and signature in some wacky attempt to intimidate me into paying him not to reveal the false information that he has. That is not going to happen, and if there was anything for me to worry about, I would not be here right now.

Once you post something here it is forever in the public domain - it is important to note that from the very beginning and litter your posts with disinformation and misdirection in order to protect yourself from exactly the scenario set out above.

I trust this will serve to calm the 'conspiracy theories' that seem to be popping up about censorship etc. As always, any personal information posted on the forums will be removed no matter who that information belongs to, whether it is the purported information of FBI agents such as Christopher Tarbell, vendors, buyers or indeed members of staff.

Off Topic / Re: Should we assume LE is monitoring this forum?

But If i were you, I would assume everything on every forum is being monitored.. Even if its not being monitored in real time, as soon as you post something to the internet, it is there, on public record.

^This! :)

Off Topic / Re: Project: Black Flag/New Silk Road
« on: October 12, 2013, 02:13:58 am »

I would like to announce Project: Black Flag, (http://blackiiw5nozs6i5.onion) the original SR replacement forums.  Currently closed beta is underway on a new SR that's being developed independently of the one on this forum.

Open beta will launch this coming Monday.

I don't want to compete with these forums, so if all else use P:BF as a fail safe.  I will also help in any way I can with this forum and its SR.

Lets sail these seas together,

(Note: My previous topic of the same name was locked and the URL removed.  I have been assured by Libertas that this will not happen again.)

Ah, it seems there has been a slight misunderstanding here. I have full control over what happens on the old forum (http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion) but Dread Pirate Roberts is the captain of the ship on the new forum here (http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion) - if he or the other moderators feel that your link should be removed here, that's their call.

You are more than welcome to post your link on the old forum; in the spirit of decentralization and community backup there will be no interference with it there, as I stated on your own site.
