Trust
« on: October 08, 2013, 11:42:02 am »
I have a couple of reservations:

1. Who has set up this forum? How is it different from the other new SR forum?
2. Why should anyone from the original SR forum trust this one?
3. Is this going to be associated with a new SR market?

And I have one request - any chance of confirming users of old SR forum and then transferring karma (maybe even number of posts)?

Aren't being watched by LE? I'm sure they were the first to join.

One of the points of Tor is that it's not necessary to trust the site you are connected to. Just don't post any information that can identify you and Tor will take care of the rest. That would be the case even if this site was set up by LE.

Not being watched by LE??

That seems bizarrely naive. Of course LE is everywhere in deepnet, and almost certainly in this forum already.

I will clarify point 1 again, I probably should not have rushed that answer.

1. Your private messages are not being watched by LE, but you should be using PGP anyway.

1. You aren't being watched by LE
2. I am not forcing you to. You need to make your own decision
3. A new market will emerge but it will not be called Silk Road.

Thanks for the reply, it's appreciated. Glad to hear it will not be called Silk Road. I guess I'll decide when I know more, but for now it's nice to have this forum [hums 'Cheers' theme]....

I have to ask this question also, isn't the whole point of setting up these identical forums - with identical alias for the administrators and global moderators, to show the LE around the world that they can arrest a small number but that can never stop the community that was grown around the Silk Road?

I too am wondering this. What difference would a name change make? I might be missing something but the change doesn't seem necessary and I like the name.

This gave me a good chuckle.  +1 to you (if I could)!

new forum and website could be run by LE it really doesn t matter as long as
-you buy from trusted vendor(pgp identification)
-use pgp for every message
-do not store bitcoin in your wallet

Not to be picky but it might be better next time you rant is to use spellcheck and check your grammar. The sentence in capitals is sending the exact opposite message of what I believe you are trying to say. And pick up a dictionary while you are at it.
