Title: Silk Road wiki

Hey gang,

I want to set up a Silk Road wiki so we can have all of the faq's answered in one spot and hopefully remove some of the clutter of repeated questions from the forum.  Anyone who's set up a wiki before want to administer this?  I could do it, but I want to get more community members involved and a wiki is a great community project anyway.

Nice.

I think Freeman was talking about putting together a faq.

I don't know anything about wikis, but I will be sure to contribute anyway that I can.

I think its a great idea. It still won't stop the 20 same threads about items like when mybitcoin had any news. It seemed like no one takes the time to read or search. Maybe if all the threads were gone through and combine all the alike threads and then stickied the important how to's/topics or whatever and Whenever someone makes a new thread it gets merged to the sticky or just deleted..

It would be a lot more work. but having a FAQ page would be helpful, but it will only help if people take the time to read...

hmmm... figured someone would want to do this.  I guess I'll figure out how to set it up.  reply to this thread if you want to be a contributor to the wiki.

I'm willing to contribute.  Maybe we should make a thread with common questions people ask when they first join.  My first questions when joining were:

1. How to install and use Tor
2. How to use PGP
3. How to acquire bitcoins

Ill be a contributor, I can help alot with helping new sellers.
I would just like to see a thread where people can ask questions, that way we could cover exactly what the community needs.

I would be interested in contributing. Unfortunately I have never set up a wiki or been an admin :( I guess I can do the writing/editing/discussion.

I would contribute on anything but tech items, that I know nothing about.

I agree with LTTM: let the community ask questions and the contribuors concoct the best possible answers.

My English is not perfect, but I think I could translate some articles to Portuguese.

I would love to take on the wiki with Kind Bud.

I have done a significant amount of buying, selling, research, teaching other vendors, sellers, and advising on how to do EVERYTHING.

Tor,PGP,GPG,Shipping,Receiving,BTCcleaning,BTCcashing,the whole 9.

I have a wealth of knowledge I'd LOVE to share and contribute as hard fact on the wiki.

KB hit me up.

@SilkRoad-

I have to research how to setup a wiki that will be Onion only.

anyone with Wiki experience lets dive in. Great idea.

Thank you everyone that contributes FAQ questions and all entries to the wiki.

Vendors are certainly interested in helping beginners out and support the community. If not, then how will they get any customers? :)

i apologize if this question is not in the right place and/or if it's stupid, but i don't understand the whole pgp thing.  i sent a message through the SR site to a seller without any kind of encryption.  my question is does it matter?  the way i see it, if sellers can post about their products and provide pics, etc then surely me asking questions about their products, acceptable payment options, and shipping should be fine, right (even if i don't encrypt it)?

thanks for any clarification i get on this issue.

General questions are probably fine as-is, but you want to make sure that your address is encrypted.

Creating a complete guide will help members not get caught, which is good for SR.

But in the case that law enforcement discovers this wiki, they will know how we operate and can use that against us....

I think Kind Bud and I would do a very good job. Others should be able to submit pages that can be approved as well.

Peace,
