Hey i love and appreciate the fuck out of the admins and mods as much as the next guy, theyb have hard jobs and they have shit they cant tell us right away even the the people are demanding to know, they need to exercise extrme security and sometimes people dont understand that and get pissed but sometimes they (the mods/admins/DPR need to get to fuck themselves or to hurry the fuck up with special implements to the site. And for the record, mods are a little censor-hungry on the forums. The old, like, the way old SR forums were almost never censored! And if they were, noone complained mostly. Mostly.

Long live SR and all, and hugs or 'kudos' to staff and dedicated community members blah blah blah, but tbh this is not the most popular staff SR has had.

Yeah you're right. I couldn't imagine dealing with a horde of nay sayers 24/7 who take any action you make and twist it into you personally attacking them.

Oha, I registered yesterday and I wrote ca 150 posts, mostly against this annoying mob which is permanently complaining about everything you can complain about. I don't know why they do that or if they think that would help anyone.

I would wish more constructive critics and less repeating the same accusations over and over again.

Lots of users think they know without any doubt that the SR staff has stolen the Money, they don't see any other possibility. Those users write over and over posts like "SCAMMMER", "SR IS ONE BIG SCAM" and "SR IS DEAD GO TO ANGORA" etc..
I really don't know why they're doing that, it may be a way to release some anger or whatever. What I know is, that those answers have absolutely zero use, they're stupid spam like posts.

If you're sooo convinced that the SR staff did it, that SR is now a huge scamming platform, fine, but why do you then visit this scamming paradise? They will never pay any cent back, so it's wasted time to be here. Wouldn't it be better to leave the sinking ship? You would do both sides a favour, just move to Aragon or Paragon or whatever they're named.

It really only makes sense to stay, to help or to observe, when you think that it's possible that someone else has done this theft.

So please, make yourself clear what you want, leave SR behind or stay and "fight" - the SR community welcomes any helping hand!

I think the reasons are, for the most part, two fold:

1. Some users are genuinely concerned about the fact that they consider Silk Road to be a scam and are trying to get to the bottom of it

2. (More often) This new 'referal scheme' marketplace culture we're seeing develop that wasn't around during SR's first market stretch, is leading people to try and convince others to use their referal links in the hope of making money

People have a right to voice their concerns, and I would never want to stop that from happening where those concerns are genuine. But it is counter-productive when people are either (a) flooding the boards with the same message, or (b) doing it to try and ruin the repute of a marketplace in order to promote their own or one they are affiliated with.

In terms of whether or not Silk Road is a scam though, it will soon become apparent that our admin is a man of his word, as users begin to see their pending balances replenished. Unfortunately however, this will only stop those in group (1) from voicing their concerns - those in group (2) will continue, instead finding a different angle to shout about. This is the part that is a shame, not the part where people are genuinely concerned.

Hidden amongst the ever growing pile of angry nonsense are legitimate concerns that do require attention.

Rather than react defensively to these concerns, by diverting attention to sometimes over the top praise threads, I think it would benefit our market as a whole to seek answers.

We should spend less time forming an "us vs them, happy vs sad" divide and instead do all we can to make this market as good as possible.

MODS have a tough job, absolutely. No one would expect them to spend 24 hours a day responding to every "SILKROAD IS A SCAM FAG RARGH" thread but when regular, long time users are expressing the same concerns time and time again I don't  think it's unfair to expect some form of communication.

It is not up to the MODS to babysit users, that is obvious. But if they are going to continue to operate this completely unsafe market while they work to move forward then the very least than we can do is to make users aware of what they're getting into when they order through Silk Road. If they can't close the market, it's up to us to educate the market users and maybe we can keep loss of funds to a minimum.

Last week was certainly a bit frantic. Users will have been calmed somewhat by the display of progress made today and whilst still a long way to go in the rebuilding process, it is somewhat comforting to see progress. The repayments to some vendors made today, coupled with an increased staff presence (a simple sticky signed by a staff member) on the forum certainly sets us off in the right direction.
