I've been ghosting these forums for a while now and finally decided to get an account. One of the questions I keep asking myself, is who the fuck is V? I'm not saying that in a bad way he seems like a good guy, but who the fuck is he?

I saw a thread saying he was Vladmir or something. But he doesn't sound like him. And he seems very interested in silk roads success. Is he a moderator? And if he isnt why is he putting in all this hard work for no pay?

I wouldn't waste any energy on hatred. Although I dislike the majority of what JtB writes he obviously posts it merely for attention, and on one or two occasions he's actually posted comments that I've thought helpful (after which, of course, he has rapidly returned to being obnoxious). As with any troll, if one feels a negative reaction it is probably best to relax, ignore the rest of his post and move on to the next. Don't let him set your emotional agenda.

But seriously though, what is there to worry about as to whether you trust this V character? If his advice makes sense to you and it doesn't compromise your identity, then he could be LE for all you care - just stop worrying.

Again; I simply do not see this as an issue of trust.  It is more about faith.  Not faith in an individual but faith in the community.  None of us will simply do something because Master V tells us to.  Just like we did not subscribe to his post because he told us to.  When V comes forward with another idea or update to his current one we will, as a community, decide whether we believe it to be the best course of action or not.

Tell me; when was the last time you saw anyone here recommend an idea or course of action that was not scrutinized down to the last detail by everyone else here?  If the idea or concept that V brings up is not sound the gaps will surely be found out.

Have faith in your brothers and sisters, including Master V, keep yourself safe and secure, and everything will be okay.

I haven't read many posts made by the account V, there are many people in this community who go out of their way to share knowledge and information, just look at some of the tutorial threads assisting people with security matters like PGP etc. You do not need to be a moderator or an admin to what to support and help others, I would hope that would be the natural instinct of most of us here.

I think you may be over thinking this issue after taking somewhat of a lashing from John, if you want to know what V's intentions are, well what does your intuition tell you?
