I was very skeptical at first....

Out of curiosity I figured I'd check out the Project Black Flag forums and started reading through Metta DPR's posts and I was very much impressed.  I went back to original SR DPR posts and noticed that there were A LOT of bugs at first and A LOT of hang ups and pulling the site down to make improvements- which actually made me feel better about some of the posts on Black Flag sort of problem solving....

So, SR 2.0 seems to be out of the running.
Sheep has some major security concerns so far.
BMR is a great classic standard and a good choice.
This project has great potential and will reveal itself in time, I am sure and
Project Black Flag has my confidence.

As soon as some vendors sign up, I will do business there.

Wouldn't it make sense to trust a tried and true management to run the new marketplace (those who helped Dread Pirate Roberts run the previous Silk Road daily), then strangers whom you've never heard of?

"the devil you know.. " and all that. Right?

It's hard to say....On one hand, you guys have down a system that we trust and then on the other hand we know that inside the team there was LE and so it is a hard call.  I so far have ruled on "Silk Road 2.0" and SMP and am keeping an open mind toward this project, the blackflag project and of course, the BMR.  Only time will tell....

But the reality is, buyers will likely peruse both markets and the team running each should happily support buyers knowing that they will choose the best market for them.

I would very much hope that the management running ANY marketplace are strangers we've never heard of. Too many former SR admins in one place is a VERY bad idea. There may be LE intel on some of the mods, in fact I would bet they do have little crumbs of said intel and are just chomping at the bit to act on anyone providing more evidence.

I was thinking about this as well.  Isn't it kind of risky staying with a group that we know has been compromised?  I fully believe all intentions are sincere, it's just a little too riskly.  And LE is not dumb...>They are likely on this forum, saying to use this site because "we" can trust SR.  People tend to follow those who speak out and lead.  I'm not saying this is the case, I'd just be careful and as Libertas aptly stated, trust nobody!  I like his stance which is, no you shouldn't trust this project- you shouldn't trust any project.  Be aware and be safe.

If they want to call it Project Blag Flag, perhaps they should remove the "Silk Road" connotation from the pages after logging in. It's a poor attempt at a direct copy, whilst forgetting to re-brand themselves with their self-given name as PBF.
Relax John, things are gonna get mighty busy around here soon and we will need all the help we can get. I will also not be locking/deleting anything, everyone is free to say whatever they like whether I like it or not. - Synergy

The whole point is to NOT re-brand. Decentralization is what we are after, gives LE a lot of confusion and they'd need more manpower than they can afford to crack 5-10-15-20 bitcoin based drug ebays.

PBF is all over the dark web and clearnet as "PBF" and not "Silk Road".  Part of running a (successful) business is providing an identifying name to be associated with that brand.  Branding with this PBF site clearly is not, well, clear.  They are not "Silk Road", they are Project Blag Flag. That is how they will always be known.

This could not be considered decentralization, and LE will have no issues coming up w/ different nicknames for the markets even if they have the same name.

He is. He is a vendor, and he had to authenticate himself as Bruce with the admins here, in order to receive that designation.
