DPR's cold storage wallet 111,114.6 coins!
« on: October 11, 2013, 02:58:52 am »
Someone at Bitcointalk traced a wallet that Altoid (AKA DPR) posted on the forum at some point to a wallet containing 111,114.6 coins. The wallet was started in July of 2011, and has had only deposits, no withdrawls. The last deposit made to it was September 10 2013. The likely hood of this being his I'd say is pretty good if you ask me. The ammount would actually make sense when you consider that the feds say he made aprox 600,000 coins in commission, and for over half the life of SR, the value of BTC was under $30, and when you factor in running costs, it starts to make sense.

My guess is that the feds do not have his encrypted wallet, but an encrypted partition or folder that they assume the wallet info is in. My bet is that it is a cold stoeage wallet.

The wallet: https://blockchain.info/address/1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a?offset=0&filter=0

Edit: Well well, what do ya know, this wallet actually has ties to the Seized coins wallet. Click the link and scroll down, the first wallet on this page is linked to the seized coins.

Edit 2: Here's where he actually posted tha address in question. Another rookie mistake, wow!!

Could be! but i have a feeling that he has more then 110kbtc, even including living expenses, server running costs, the staff who he use to give $1000-$2000 per week + the money for the assassinations! He couldn't have spent that much money and not have had it noticed.

Chances are that could be 1 of numerous wallets he had

Very Interesting

One thing this definitely shows is the trackability of Bitcon wallets. Kinda scarry if you ask me! It just ties him into SR with one more puzzle piece.

FUCK ME RUNNING. That is some scary shit, that the wallets are so visible, with everybody and anybody who gives a fuck can trace their deposit dates, etc. NOT SECURE, not nearly as discreet as I had hoped. FUCK!!

I know its public knowledge, but still don't feel right seeing this being on here.  I know we all want answers, and every bit of info paints a clear picture for us, but I just don't like anyone connecting any dots for LE.  This seems like legitimate evidence - and I know I'd feel pretty shitty if I cost DPR 111k bitcoin by connecting dots (even though the guy made rookie mistakes, he still gave me 2 years worth of a wonderful ride).

Regardless,  very good detective work man.  At least you are on our side :)

There are lots of crypto-currency traders handling that amount of coin.

And Ross claimed to be a currency trader, right?

He did indeed, Maybe this is one of his trading accounts? i refuse to accept that after paying server costs and life expenses he blew 400,000 bit coins that's a huge asking IMO!

Is there any more wallets out there with this or more in?

A quick search shows me this wallet:

http://blockchain.info/address/1dice8EMZmqKvrGE4Qc9bUFf9PX3xaYDp

Not got a balance, but total received is more than a million coins.

I know this isn't a trader's account or anything, but it just shows Altoid's isn't the only address to have received a high volume of BTC

Perhaps a satoshi dice address?

I assume you mean the second wallet posted, the SatoshiDice address? It clearly says it's "SatoshiDice" in the top of the blockchain.

The first wallet posted, is very likely *someone's* wallet from silkroad. Whether or not DPR who knows?

I think your math is out some. A million BTC is $125 million.

That wallet has already been investigated a lot and the conclusion is that it is Satoshis'
