I am making a Silk Road bot for Windows. Currently it offers simple notifications for new orders and messages. It sits in the taskbar and pop's up when you have unread messages. The whole thing is portable and works alongside the Tor Browser bundle. It grabs the Silk Road cookie automatically from Firefox and the SOCKS and HTTP protocols were implemented by me with anonymity in mind to avoid all leaks of user information.
Would anyone be interested in trying it out? I am using it for about a day and it seems to work just fine. I'd be willing to give this out to ~3 vendors (or simple users if no vendors are interested) for free to try it out for a week or so before I start selling it. (of course the testers will keep the executable and will get future updates like everyone else)
In the future I aim to add more functionality to this turning it into something like warweed's bot. With automated sales for digital goods etc.

I would love to test it oun please send me a download link thanks

Only with the fully transparent source code available.

This just adds more strain to the SR servers. There is a reason why all images on SR are inline base64 and there is no ajax at all...

Wow I thought nobody saw the thread but here you are.
@lledd You've got a PM.
@BlarghRawr I understand you privacy concerns (I would have the same reaction actually) but I won't be releasing the source code for now. I know trust is hard to come by but I see a lot of custom made virtual machines or customized linux distributions on the market and they do sell although I am pretty sure nobody checks sources or recompiles them before they run them. So there is more trust than I expected.
@jackintherox 1) There are already other bots used on SR. 2) I think it's more likely someone to take down SR on purpose by DoSing it compared to the traffic generated by bots. 3) If SR ever implements a simple API I'll be more than happy to switch to it. It shouldn't be more than 2 hours of work for the devs to create a JSON interface. Should I request that somewhere? Forums or support?

Someone changed my mind so the source will be open from now on and included in the package. ;-) Anyone interested?

With the source? Yes.

They will never make an API. I am pretty sure the admins like having the site hard to gather statistics from it, hence the lack of advanced searching, sorting, etc.
The reason I bring that up though is because your code/script will have to load the whole page just to see if there are messages/orders quite often and if a lot of people start using it it will slow it down for everyone. However I think the admins have already prepared for this type of thing so that's just my 2c. I would love to check out your program, I have this thread marked!

I found three beta testers which got it for free along with the source code.
If anyone else is interested I've listed the bot here: http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/index.php/silkroad/item/002ba2ec85

If I ever get some coins I would like to check out the program, but since I am not a vendor it might be a waste of my money to a certain extent. If you just want a second opinion on your code I would love to look at it (yeah, I am a nerd). Anyways thanks for helping out the SR community, +1!
