Title: How to prevent recent documents from showing up in notepad?
Post by: BuddhaNature on August 18, 2012, 07:53 am
I have a TrueCrypt partition on an external USB drive. Sometimes I'll have random business stuff that needs to be saved into a .txt file. Messages, PGP keys, orders, whatever. Unfortunately this stuff shows up in my start menu under the "Recent Documents" section of the shortcut to Notepad. So even if the TrueCrypt partition is dismounted, you can still see all my PGP keys, orders, and whatever else I've used notepad for. Obviously if the drive is dismounted and you try to click it, it won't be able to find the file, but the fact that the links are still there are very annoying.

Can anyone help me out with this?

You can clear your temporary files by right clicking on your Start Menu but I think you really should think about installing a Portable App to the Truecrypt partition to stop this from happening for good. GPG4USB allows you to open edit and save multiple text documents.

hope this helps,
