Title: Minimum Order Quantity for Bitcoins for people in the UK/EU
Post by: vlad1m1r on July 28, 2012, 11:43 pm
Dear all,

In light of Intersango's fall from grace wherein they've disappeared and taken everyone's cash and the unreliability of using cash deposits via MtGox for UK customers I have received a colossal amount of orders. I have taken a few days off work to clear the backlog but obviously cannot do this every time there is a spike in sales. Also, it would compromise your safety and mine if I were to trust someone else with processing your orders.

As such I have decided to impose a minimum order quantity for Bitcoins of £52.50 worth i.e you must send at least GBP 60.

European Customers the minimum amount you can send is EUR 80 which will get you approximately GBP 55 worth of Bitcoins including my commission.

I am not doing this to make money. In fact my commission is structured in such a way that buyers will save money by placing fewer larger orders rather than repeated smaller ones.

It's also my hope in laying down this new requirement I can also open up the market for another UK Bitcoin vendor who will accept smaller orders to take some of the burden from me!

Monopolies are never, never healthy as even if I offer the best, most reliable, most anonymous service to people in the UK and Europe (which of course in my ever humble opinion I do!) if for example I were run down by a passing lorry tomorrow, I don't want that to cause a plunge in sales for UK vendors as buyers can no longer obtain Bitcoins safely.

Anyone who is in the UK and would like to follow in my footsteps, feel free to get in touch, I'll happily give you some free advice.

V.
