Title: Do vendors adjust their prices for BTC fluctuations?
Post by: bobyouruncle on July 19, 2012, 09:45 am
This has been a question bugging me for a while...do vendors drop their prices at all if BTC goes up say 3 or 4 dollars in the space of a few weeks?

If they don't, is it normal i'll be paying an extra couple of $100 for a product i was thinking of ordering a few weeks ago when btc was at something like $5, now its at $8?

Hi Bob,

The short answer is Yes. Vendors can (and do!) create listings and set prices in USD and then SR will automatically display the equivalent prices in BTC at prevailing MtGox rates. As I understand it the prices are linked to the average USD price and are updated daily.
