Title: Intersango Issues?
Post by: pneezy on July 17, 2012, 10:17 pm
Is Intersango giving anyone else trouble?  I'm getting a message that says "Bitcoind transfers are temporarily unavailable. Expected resolution within 24 hours, sorry."

I currently have bitcoins stuck somewhere between Intersango and Point B.

Anybody else having this problem??

I wouldn't use Sang if I were you mate. They tend to take World of Warcraft more seriously than running a currency exchange.

LOL Limtless! I'm pretty happy with the service of Intrsngo so far but yeah I also tried to convert to some Bitcoins today and my order got stuck so I cancelled.  I'll wait keeping my money in the original currency until resolved. Also I'm pretty shocked with how high the price for Bitcoins has climbed over the past couple of months - I hope this is reflected by vendors lowering the Bitcoin price for their products!

Would Coinapult --> tormail be your recommendation, Lim?  (I'm in the U.S, if it matters....)

Hi buddy,

I saw the same thing.

I would like to reassure my Cash to BTC customers that I am no longer reliant on the Intersango exchange for Bitcoins and all your orders have already been processed as normal.

Moving forward you might want to consider using my service pneezy as it's much safer than Intersango, feel free to visit http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=22148.0 if you want more information.

All the best,

V.

To be fair if you are buying BTC I'm not really that up on whom to use because I've actually never bought BTC before in my life (I was given the ones to get my account), my area is getting rid of them incognito. I would just use MT Gox though and if I am gunna be frank I think buyers greatly overestimate how much danger they are in when just buying BTC for personal amounts of drugs. Gox and the law are looking for big transactions, they couldn't give a fuck about those buying the odd gram of whatever their tipple is. I'm not saying people shouldn't be cautious, just be realistic.

This is all well and fine until you're caught receiving odd gram in the post and try to plead in court that you had absolutely no idea what was in the package when you signed for it - if the Prosecution can prove that you bought the No. 1 currency for buying drugs via your bank account then it might undermine your defence slightly! Sad to say in the UK the possibility of your defence being scrutinised in this way before you arrive in court is becoming increasingly likely as you're required to submit a "defence statement" before appearing in court so that they can go over any defence you might present, most unsporting in my opinion.

The only safe methods for obtaining Bitcoins is either buying them with cash or selling goods/services in exchange for them. Of course if someone donates them to you as Lim's associate did, so much the better - sounds like you have a generous friend Lim, can I have his e-mail? :-)

If you absolutely insist on using bank deposit I would suggest you do so via BitInstant using cash if you're in the US and run your coins through Bitcoinfog - cash deposits are still traceable in that banks have security cameras but it would require closer monitoring of your activities and LE may not have the energy to do this for small time buyers - nevertheless my completed unbiased opinion as a Bitcoin trader who deals exclusively in cash is that you should play it safe :-D

Personally I can't see LE going through all the effort of arresting someone, attaining a court order to investigate their bank account information, and just generally build an entire prosecution against them purely due to them being "caught receiving odd gram in the post".

I'm not saying you're wrong in what your're saying, either, but I think it's a matter of scale really. If we're talking a Kilogram of coke then I'd be much more inclined to agree with it being seen as going down that way, but for the odd gram? Come on.

I know the names and addresses of plenty a person I dislike, and if having them investigated, arrested, bought up in front of court, etc, was as easy as sending them a gram of cheap, badly packaged cocaine in the post, then wouldn't that seem a little too easy?

Most LE wouldn't, but UK customs love to force bullshit cases through our legal system.

has anyone had their coins transferred yet (from intersango)? I've had mine as 'requested' since this morning and there is no sign of them being processed yet. I've not has any problems with them before and they are usually pretty quick
