I wanted to warn you guys-someone placed an order with me yesterday, and another today. Yesterday was "their first time on SR (although they did have no purchases)". Something seemed fishy - you'll see what I mean below.

New to SR, first purchase.
Hi I'm new and i would like to make my first purchase with you. Shh, don't tell anyone but I need a clever disguise for when I buy bitcoin and when I'm surfing the underbelly of the net. Your disguise kits seem like the best bet. No one will every recognize me again. Wahhahahahaha!
In all seriousness I'm new, and I would like to make a small purchase first. I have already obtained bitcoin and i think I know how to use encrypted communication. Before I click the buy button, will you let a first time user buy from you. Do you use encrypted communication? (so i can test if i know I'm using it right and for general safety)

That I was surprised to see. Then today they place another order-even more surprised. So much so that I did some investigating. First of all, their username was "newzeryame" - I mean, come on. Further research brought me to realize there was a DEA only miles away from "their address" in Huntsville, AL. AND THEN I check the address - it DIDN'T EVEN EXIST.
Thank god I sent nothing.
Everyone else, PLEASE be on your toes regarding this...its scary.

i can't see what the problem is? most, if not all, vendors package their product as carefully as possible - no fingerprints no DNA (hair strands) in product etc etc. if they don't they bloody well should for obvious reasons. in that respect - so what if you send something to the DEA? how do you know you already haven't?
i think the only odd thing about that was a n00b not asking if n00bs need to FE.
did you take the guys money? i'd have sent it anyway - not your problem if the donut can't even write his address properly - you've kept your part of the deal.

Sounds like a stupid nooby kid to me. Seriously you could probably search just about any city in the US and find a DEA office within a few hundred miles of just about anywhere.

We gets stupid messages every day including people near police stations, the internet is full of weird people and now and again you get some unusual messages but to label them DEA I think is jumping to conclusions.

I'm less than ten miles from an FBI field office, and the State Police are just down the road from me. I'm glad vendors don't refuse to ship to me just because I live in (outside of, really) a major city that also happens to have some LEA offices in it.
It sounds to me he's just a stupid Alabama redneck who got tired of having to blow his uncle to score some meth. Seriously though, follow your gut. Just give him some vague excuse for canceling the order

Ahhhh I have had that quite a few times now, my favourite response to that is - "No I do not accept payment via an invitation for an incarceration thank you, however if you would like to make payment via a method that doesn't enable the gathering of evidence that would lead to my eventual imprisonment then we can go forward"

C'mon, Lim don't be ridiculous. You simply cannot damage these fuckers' self-esteem, as they don't have any. When they threw their lot in with the pigs, they sacrificed any individuality or humanity that they may have heretofore possessed. Blast them all you want, but they live in one of the worst types of reality distortion fields -- they simply don't perceive the world in the way the rest of us do.
Even in those rarest of instances, when the courts dress them down for bad behaviour, they merely write it off as an 'activist judge'. They are simply incapable of seeing that what they are doing is wrong.

I think a lot of you all are overreacting. Doesn't sound like anything terrible to me. And as for peppering them with insults, come on, buddies, what good is that? Makes you feel pumped up full of adrenaline for a while, then what? You have to live with yourself for the remainder, not for a little while.
I recommend staying calm, who gives a fuck what they (LE) do? You think they care enough to be *sniff* hurt by that? Come on, get real.

Personally, I don't think this was anything to worry about. There seems to be a pervasive attitude around here that all cops have the skills of Barney Fife, and would be as easy to spot as as an oncoming freight train. That may be true of many local LE, but much less so of trained federal agents, who would spend months, even years, gathering intelligence, buying from the major players and attempting to track packages back to their origins, and comparing that data to the data collected from reading the forums.
I think what you had, OP, was a newbie buyer, and a rather young one at that. Accept their money, and be careful not to leave a trail of evidence when you ship.
