I'm sure this has been discussed but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone instruct me on how I get Tor on my iPad 2 or point me in the direction so I can figure out how to do it? I would really appreciate it!!

G'day can't say I've heard of one and a quick search of the forum proved fruitless but I reckon it would be a great idea for a developer to jump on it if it hasn't already been done.
Also an Android app would be great if anyone knows of one/can be bothered making one.

I think the only app for iPad that allows TOR is called Onion browser.

There already is an Android app.
You shouldn't browse Tor from any mobile device though, it's incredibly insecure.

I'm currently working with another seller on setting up Android Tablets for use with Silk Road. Properly set up I think they could potentially be more secure than a home computer due to the fact the device encryption couldn't be overcome by a conventional cold boot attack.
At the moment I've ordered a few samples from a wholesaler friend and we're just testing them to make sure they're reliable, exciting times ahead, watch this space!

I was having a debate with "Shannon" here about that last night, it's good to see at least I was right and it's already being put into practice.
Make sure you don't use the latest version of ICS on the tablets, it has serious issues with Tor.

Yep, that's what I'm using now :) works fine. I wouldn't make any orders on it cos copying and pasting with the gpg would be a nightmare, but it's fine for the forum

There is an iPad app called Covert Browser. It can handle Tor. You can check the forums and tormail.org, but I have been unsuccessful logging into SR.
I did a search and found others complaining that Covert Browser cannot connect to SR. Maybe it's a hidden service thing?

how many android devices out there have luks-style encryption, i'm not up to date on my android shit but i was only aware of the nexus
Anything running Android 4.X (Ice Cream Sandwich).

You raise a good point about the lack of security when using mobile devices to browse Tor. I hadn't thought about that one
