I just started using Intersango.  My deposit wasn't "instant within the hour" like Intersango's site says it will be, but they don't require id at the moment.  My deposit from dwolla took a day or two, but Intersango says that it *can* speed that process up if I do send them identification documents..

I'd suggest using bitfloor w/ a tormail account and a cash deposit at a chase ATM.

I've been using CampBX. Great service and allows for ACH withdrawls.

Is it dangerous to use MtGox? I've been using it 'til now.

Not in theory. It is perfectly legal to trade Bitcoins.
Yet if they think you're up to no good, you aren't being sneaky enough. :)

Dwolla > Mt. Gox > BTC Fog > SR
Should be fine.

I just did Mt Gox > SR straight away.

That's bad?

How would mtgox ever know any address which belongs to silkroad ??

I thought each time you get a SR Bitcoin address its unique throw away address, or am i wrong there?

That's true.

The problem with mtgox is for the vendors looking to cash out. Those are the ones they watch and report as specious activity.

How do you do this at an ATM without having the debit card tied to the account? I've tried.

It's true that it's not possible through simply looking at the Bitcoin block chain that it's not possible to tell if an address specifically belongs to Silk Road. However, if you use a traceable method to get Bitcoins such as wire transfer to Intersango then any fool with access to their records will be able to see the address where you sent the coins you bought.

You can reduce this risk by using a coin mixer like Bitcoinfog.

You can eliminate the risk altogether by using cash to buy your BTC - I offer a service like this to people in the UK/EU for this reason.

OK I think we got a little off topic MacMan wants to take his $B and turn it into $$$$.

MtGox will help LE find suspicious activity and help them track it back to our vendors on SilkRoad or anyone else that illegally  launders money.

MacMan I would suggest getting in contact with BTCMaster or another MoneyPak to BTC vendor they can get rid of the bitcoins and give you cash for them. I am sure he will work something out for you.
