I'm new to silkroad, and I am confused on a couple things..
How much is a bitcoin? Say - how much USD is 10 bitcoin? I am seeing things like talking about mining rigs and creating them and stuff but I am so newb and I don't understand anything.. Help a beginner SR member out?

Also - sorry if this is posted in wrong part of the forum. Still trying to find my way around.

Hi buddy,
Welcome to SR!
The rate of the Bitcoin varies from day to day (and indeed minute to minute) it seems to be stabilising a little in recent weeks. The best place to find out how many dollars there are to the Bitcoin is to go to MtGox.com - I say this because the sellers on here peg their prices to the USD/Bitcoin rates as per this website. I see at the moment it's about $5.61.
I wouldn't worry about mining for now.

xD WOW this stuff is expensive. How do you guys afford it?

Anything is affordable in moderation :)
Besides most things are cheaper than a night drinking alcohol unless it's your find cocaine or something

I should explain the Bitcoin is divisible - to six decimal places as memory serves?!

Hi Ohsopoisonous,
What I mean is that it is possible for example to spend 0.01 Bitcoins - one Bitcoin can be divided into smaller amounts just as one dollar can be divided into cents.

I think what he is saying is 9.68 bit coins would cost $54.3048
Where as 10 bitcoins would cost $56.10
