Hello everyone,
Just a short post to introduce a new small scale Cash > Bitcoin service: GreatBritishBitcoin for the casual user who just wants Bitcoins fast and safe with none of the headaches that getting coins gives you currently! :-\
I have been trading in Bitcoins, since it became interesting, on the various markets after trying my hand at Spread Betting a while back. I make a little bit and kinda of enjoy it. Maybe I'll do a course one day in something like this and take things further one day.
Anyways, at this point I've always got about £1000 or so BTC on hand. I was thinking how I could take this one stage a further and in light of the recent situations with the UK markets, I've just opened a vendors account. My intention is to to offer relatively small sums of Bitcoins for cash through the mail, primarily using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This means for the price of postage and 10% handling fee you can get your coins in less than 24 hours guaranteed with complete anonymity.
I will leave it at that as I think I've covered most things on my Vendor page (see sig) and just say I'm an honest, hardworking guy just trying to make a few extra bucks.
Please could you send comments, queries or suggestions to our Silk Road vendor page so that if anybody takes the plunge, this can serve as a review thread.

u just started as new vendor so if i for example gave u £180 how many bitcoins do i get ,just trying to compare wot i gotfrom another source let me no cheers

Well initially I'm going to waver the 10% for the first five transactions. There is a £100 limit atm, so you pay the weighted average from: https://mtgox.com/index.html?Currency=GBP plus P&P (RM Special Delivery), but ultimately there will be a 10% handling fee. So in this instance, £100 worth of Bitcoins cost you £115.45 and for that extra charge you get complete anonymity with guaranteed delivery of coins directly to your SR wallet, within 24 hours! So for example, right now £115.45 gets you, lets say, 35BTC.
£180 I'd give you something like 48BTC I should imagine and that would include next day coins, beofre 1pm, completely secure, tracked, P&P insured for £500 .
Thanks for the interest, a good question to answer ONCE. Can I politely request that any similar would now best be asked via the Vendor page.

NOT FISHY. Gents, what I said is straight up, I've just got some stashed away. I come out and play the market a bit sometimes If I'm watching telly or something, you know what it's like with a laptop and it's surprising how relatively easy it is to make £10 or £20 here and there. It's boring as shit mind so I only do it 'one handed' or check my iPhone and they're down so I go for it. I've got my own little buy/sell ratio plan. TBH my pot grew substantially after 4:20, I actually took advantage that way and didn't buy much weed. When I read some of the great deals I had a little panic that I was turning into the enemy!
It's all cool though, hopefully we can get this moving and I can become a valued and useful tool in the process of getting a bit of something for us in the UK ;)

not received my btc yet from gbbc. cash arrived with him on monday morning so it is only a slight delay. comms have been good too so i hope nothing to worry about but thought i should post my slight concerns here given gbbc is such a new vendor.
will update post as soon as it goes through. fingers crossed...
(if this doesnt work out i will actually be more disappointed that we dont have a good source of btc in the uk than i will about the $)

I appreciate sending cash in the mail is a lot to take on faith but if you think about it, it's actually the safest way to obtain Bitcoins short of selling products/services or mining them.
I was told similar things myself when I set up shop on here that I wouldn't be able to convince people to trust me but I think that by being honest and maintaining an active presence in the forums you can assure people that you're here to stay and provide a reliable service.
Although I'm not exactly over the moon about having a business rival as it might spark a price war which wouldn't be good for either of us but I think it's a good thing this is being offered in the UK as monopolies are never ideal - we all remember the fiasco with Intersango when their bank was refusing payments, I had to drain my personal supply of Bitcoins just to keep up with orders. I have stockpiled more in case this happens again but am pleased to know there's someone else out there who can help out British users in the event of a shortage!
Obviously I'd rather everyone used my service but GreatBritishBitcoin seems to be ticking all the boxes to be given the benefit of the doubt - obviously as with my own service if you want to process a small amount of cash to test, then do so. My minimum order is £5 - knock yourselves out!

Well, I have just joined and there are lots of small SR purchases I would like to make but I don't know anyone in RL who is involved in SR or TOR and I am completely bamboozled by how to actually GET any BitCoins.
I would love a service that made it easier, or at least someone I can trust to help me along the way.

This is a question to you and vlad1m1r,
Would it be possible to buy bitcoins via bank transfer (as done with mt. gox / intersango for quicker transactions?
Obviously this wouldn't be an account registered to yourselves.. as a buyer I'd be more interested in this than the cash in mail method, not that there is anything wrong with cash in mail it's just a personal preference.

GreatBritishBitcoin is now trading again - tentatively with recent happenings! ;-)
When I first started, about 6 exchanges in someone tried to scam £100, resulting in our feedback % being rubbish so I concentrated on my normal trading avenues out side of SR. I'm trying to get the 1 of 5 removed as it's unjust (a sabotage perhaps?).
This is obviously not ideal when trying to build a reputation but I'm not here to play games but to trade coins and offer the fastest method available to the UK.
Hopefully some of my past clients could post in the thread to back me up! It's your choice at the end of the day but it's a shame if your put off as there is nothing to be weary of. You can have coins in your wallet on Tuesday morning!
