Title: 17" MacBook Pro - Core 2 Duo/9800GT model
Post by: Kazy on May 24, 2012, 09:03 pm
Absolute mint condition, not a single scratch.
Comes with clear hard plastic case.
Escrow

The title says it all, one for sale. I will not hide that this is my first excursion to the SR. At this time I am researching such topics as buyer/seller security and anonymity extensively, as well as getting to understand more firmly general SR proceedings; I may need explaining here or there. I am of course willing to discuss extensively, and am willing to explore various options. If I've understood correctly, unlike elsewhere, "middle-manning" is not a popular technique on SR, but if available, I would be willing to pay the necessary fees. If interested you may PM me to set up a time to discuss via IM.

What's in it for you is that the price is right. Very right. Ask for PM.

Reece, your link leads to a broken page. What was the point you were making? To my knowledge, Apple has no stolen product flagging information.

Da-dum Tsh!

Seriously though, this guy makes a new account and asks you to "PM" him. Fishy off the bat :/ If it sounds too good to be true and contains a risk on your part.... you know the rest

danknugsdun - Based on interest here yes I do intend to register for a seller account. PM sent.

Reece - This is not the same model that has the overheating problems. +1 for trying to help fellow members.

Caparino - Why is PMing fishy? I'm just not so keen on posting pricing publicly. Really though, why?

For anyone who missed the Edit, computer is in literally mint condition with not a single scratch and comes with a clear hard plastic case.

I don't know, why wouldn't you just sell something of the sort on E-bay or such? Would you stay in escrow?

It is against the rules to have an item for sale if you don't have a sellers account.

I don't know, why wouldn't I sell a computer at a price that is 'very right' on Ebay...? ;)
Escrow... Yes, yes I would stay in escrow. It would be awfully rude of me not to considering as how I am a first time seller.

Well then sir, I apologize for my initiatory behavior. I've seen people had by a seller named Zeus not too long ago with a similar scam so a couple red flags raised themselves in my head. I hope you don't mind. Good luck to your career on the road and I hope all of your transactions proceed swimmingly  :)

You catch on fast to be a newbie talking about how rude it is to not stay in escrow but you have to stay in escrow til you get 35 transactions except for that 3 day finalize deal. Anyway I can't wait to see the listing pal

Apology accepted, also +1 for you for looking out for community members (: There seems to be a karma system on here but I'm not quite sure how to utilize it, would someone please explain? The same well wishes to you, Caparino.

The karma system unfortunately only allows for 100+ post members to award it. It's fair in my eyes but sometimes people take opinions too seriously... *points to negative karma rating*  ;D

Yes I do tend catch on quickly, thank you. Funny how you say that now, I just read the seller's guide. On that note... Wow is that a steep price for a seller account, although understandable with profits to be made. Accounts are permanent (unless ToS are violated) yes?

Actually, vendors ratings are often inflated on the actual SR website.  If you are looking to make a purchase always check in on vendor reviews on the forums.  Most of the good vendors are active on these forum anyways and can address all your questions/concerns.
