Title: Where can I purchase bitcoins...more info in thread
Post by: simonchild on May 10, 2012, 12:51 am
I am located in a country in the south Pacific.

I use to obtain bitcoins through a site that i could make bank deposit anomalously. However it has changed and now need i.d. and address to obtain. There are no other sites in my country that i can purchase bitcoins through.

Are there any sites worldwide that i can buy bitcoins with my credit card, paypal or of the likes that isnt a long process. I will just purchasing personal amounts so not too phased if i use my cc.

Cheers!

Have you considered using the vendors on this site?  They bone you for a ridiculous markup, but it's a valid method.

Credit cards and Paypal are reversible and not to mention trackable, so it's generally not possible to buy Bitcoins using these methods. A scammer could reverse the transaction once the unreversable bitcoins are received.

You could try the bitcoin IRC channel, they'll do paypal trades. Just make sure you wash them after using something like bitcoin fog.

I trade BTC in UK/Europe and in principle would be happy to sell BTC for Paypal but I've built up a good rep on eBay over five years and if some scammer used a stolen credit card to buy BTC from my store I could be shut down. The only alternative I can see is to insist on sending physical Bitcoins to someone's address but that's hardly very anonymous!
