Greetings fellow Silk Road revolutionaries! We are Blue Sky Traders, a bitcoin exchange merchant.
We’re currently doing spot trading, so we post inventory items only when we’re online and available for immediate delivery. We hope to nail down core trading hours at 6-11 PM EDT daily, but this will remain fluid as we get things going here on the Road.

I have now done several transactions with BlueSkyTraders and I've been very satisfied. First it was hard to find a bitcoin trader in SR and the transfering methods were pretty compilicated to understand for me as a new for bitcoins etc., but I was surprised how well everything went. I've got the bitcoins to my account about 10 minutes after payment. I can say the vendor is 100% trusted and do recommend to anyone to do business with.

We still think the best way to get coin is a cash deposit made anonymously in exchange for bitcoins. It’s our model, and one used by BitInstant and GetBitcoin. Obviously the fewer layers between you and the bitcoins, the more you get for the buck.
You pick any branch of Bank of America, anonymously make a cash deposit into our account, then we deposit bitcoins straight into your SR account. As a trader IRL as well, we know that BoA has a huge footprint, but they’re still not convenient for everyone. We’ve done cash-in-mail, Western Union, and a few other methods, but they’re anything but quick and some can degrade the client’s anonymity. If BoA doesn’t work for you, we can discuss it via PM, and then post a custom order for you if you still want to trade.

Our apologies, but we have nothing convenient or quick to offer UK clientele. Yet. Surprised? Well, we won’t bullshit you. If we know someone who can do it better, we’ll usually say so. We just don’t know much about any of the other exchange vendors here on the Road yet.

Yeah, well we've just started getting to know that vendor. Thought of mentioning him, but for now he's taken his postings offline, perhaps partly because of the Intersango clusterfuck.

Good luck in your endeavours, perhaps advise clients to leave you seem forum feedback in this thread if they are happy with your service. I usually recommend vlad1m1r if a UK or EU buyer is looking for BTC and would happily recommend you once I see you have a good track record. No offence intended as you seem legit but without feedback and word of mouth referrals I don't want to recommend you based on your posts alone.

Blue Sky Traders Transaction Review
For what it's worth (from a new user on SR), my transaction with BST was absolutely flawless.
I've been lurking on SR for quite a bit now, doing my "due diligence" by scouring this forum for information. After researching how to obtain BTCs, I figured that the easiest method would be to go through Sugar Mama or BTC Buddy as they are the most trusted here. I did, however, have reservations about their exchange rates which I felt were absurd, but ultimately accepted that as the cost of doing business here on SR.
In the end, I found this thread and decided to risk a small transaction with Blue Sky Traders, and I'm feeling quite ecstatic. I was resigned to losing 17% of my deposit with Sugar Mama/BTC Buddy (slightly more if you factor the $4.95 MP pack fee). Blue Sky Traders gave me a straight 5:1 exchange on my money and no fees (obviously a "promotional" rate, but they did indicate to me by PM that initial customers will retain a low fee). Additionally, my BTCs were made available within 30 minutes of my deposit with them.
Since SR only functions properly through the active participation of its users, I felt I'd leave this review here for Blue Sky Traders. The transaction was quick. They've presented themselves professionally, and I'm extremely relieved and happy that my first transaction here on SR was flawless and free of drama.

Quick review for everybody. BST were quick to respond to all messages. Got in on the 5:1 rate. Made a deposit at BOA and the BTCs were in my account by time I got home and logged onto SR. Thanks BST.

We remember what it was like when we first landed on the Road. First thought was ‘look at all this stuff!’ Second thought was ‘where can I score some coin?’ It's a wonder, but we've managed to avoid the scammage. We love the vibe here, and this is our way of being a part of something that really IS historic—Silk Road is already a big part of deepnet history and lore. Every day the legend grows a little more.
And we won’t always be doing 5:1 trades. Very simple—it’s promotional. Just like any other grand opening special. Besides, as long as we’re for real and online, it makes it that much harder for the scammers to practice their craft.

Yea I have banked with them before using getbitcoin.com. Unfortunately I have to clock in at 10am and don't get off til 12 or 2 am--yea I got to pull a double. I will pm you and if you will give me the 5:1 that would be really great of you. I been looking for a good BTC vendor on here because it seems like it is more anonymous. We’re doing the 5:1 trades right now for amounts up to 250—mainly to serve the newbies and those buyers that are the most vulnerable to the scammers. We ARE now ramping up to handle a larger load though. We’ve been a little pleasantly surprised by the number of requests for larger exchange amounts.

The SR user Amiss is a user gone amok. They left an order for $500 worth of the 5:1 special on June 1, then we never heard from them again until last night. That’s when they left poor feedback, and made a claim they were scammed. They finalized the order several days after ordering, and that prevented us from cancelling and preventing fucked up feedback.
Our personal challenge to Amiss: Our customers always get a deposit receipt from the bank. Can you produce your receipt? Why did you wait six days to find out where your $500 went?

BlueSky was nothing but a pleasure to deal with. Had my BTC in under an hour. Had been working with BTCKing but with BlueSky's rates, I'm not sure why anyone with access to a BoA would go anywhere else.

I can't speak for Amiss but as a fellow Bitcoin trader I can vouch for BlueSkyTraders' efficiency and integrity - if someone is claiming they didn't receive their coins due to BST being a scammer they're either mistaken or lying.

I just got my 650$ coined by BlueSky within 30 minutes of my bank deposit 8)
I was nervous at first, but after talking to him a good bit, I got really great vibes. It's pretty easy to tell he's very serious about his work, and it's easy to tell he's been in this line of work quite a bit. One thing really outstanding about BlueSky is how professional all correspondence was. I didn't have to wait on a response for any of my questions/concerns for more than an hour.
I'm extremely pleased right now! I'm a huge bitinstant user, but the issue is, I can't keep hitting that same BoA account with a bunch of cash a few times every month. So guys like BlueSkyTraders really make my life easier and safer. I'm looking forward to this guy staying around and I plan on being one of his long term customers. No need to wait on those MPs to get cashed either. Just hit the bank, and chances are, an hour afterwards you'll be ready to shop.

I actually got 2 extra coins than I had bargained for, and that's before the BTC rate jumped a little bit since I placed my order.

Placed an order earlier today, and the bitcoins were in my account in about an hour. Never had any doubt about BlueSkyTraders; they are on top of their game and know what they are doing.
This is a great new service for our community that can provide a safe and secure way to get bitcoins. A few of their feedback is filled with blanks, but that is simply because people get lazy,
and finalize without leaving anything, and one troll feedback where the person claims they were scammed out of 500$.
Honestly though if you want to get bitcoins in the safest and fastest way go with Blue Sky Traders.

After answering about a thousand questions, I decided to give BST a try. I wasn't keen on walking into a bank but decided WTH.
The BTCs were in my account before I could get back home. He told me that he would be out for an hour so there might be a delay. No such luck - LOL. BST is a vendor that is needed here on SR.
Exchanged 750 worth of BTCs. He even threw in a extra coin. What money vendor does that? There is no point going to anyone else if you are within driving distance of a BofA.

I've created the thread and I will be updating it later today. I'm also sending PM to bitcoin vendors so they can give details about exchange rates, etc.. so there is a lot of work to be done.
About Blue Sky Traders feedback I will gladly copy some of the posts from this thread to mine.

We just audited our books here and realized that our two primary bitcoin providers were NOT supplying them at the price we thought—we weren’t buying spot, we’d just send thousands in cash for coin in return. We trusted them, and just now got around to auditing. One of them is an SR vendor that we really liked. We’re exceptionally disappointed right now. But seriously BST fans, looks like there won’t be any more 5:1 trades in the near future. Any sweetheart deals we get will just go toward making up the operational loss from this clusterfuck.

I LOVE the convenience(no 1000 limit), the professionalism, and the extremely swift turnaround time. My 1300 today was done in just 3 hours, and would have probably only taken a hour or less had i not sent them mid-afternoon, outside your normal hours.

We never said we were off track. We were just bitching out loud about not paying attention to our supply chain invoicing. Our Early Adopters know what we're babbling about because doing the 5:1 thing is fun. We have coin, it just cost more than we thought.
Having said all that, we still think we're faster and more economical than most. Maybe all. Sometimes we'll be a better choice just because we'll be online and available for an immediate trade. The market will tell us what works and what doesn't.

Blue Sky Traders was totally professional and very quick at sending information and bitcoins.. Got my coins within an hour after deposit, and got them at a good price. Im very satisfied with my first transaction with BsT and they are my new bitcoin vender!!

Had a first great transaction for $75.00 with these guys today, very easy, they send very good directions, my bitcoins were there in about an hour and the rates were extremely competitive. GREAT vendor. It was my first transaction on SR and BST helped with honesty and a awesome rate. They even gave me an extension on the previous rate after the price went up when i missed the bank. Why leave SR when this vendor is around. 5/5 for being patient with a first timers and making it easy!
That is the feedback I gave on the listing. I left out the fact that they did not see my deposit right away for whatever reason. Even though they could not verify that I made the deposit, they still sent the coins on faith ( I'm sure they could tell I was legit from all the communication, plus I saved my receipt and was able to provide that at any time since I'm not a low life scammin punk ;) With so many listings and profiles requiring me to finalize early since I had no purchasing history, that was like a breath of fresh air.
OUTSTANDING customer service and the best rates I could find on SR or anywhere else for that matter. No hidden fees, super easy, anonymous deposit at a location you choose and with no questions asked when you get there.
Thanks BlueSkyTraders for going above and beyond for a pain in the ass first timer. Looking forward to doing more trading with you soon! I promise next time will be short and smooth!

Blue Sky Traders are really fast! I went to the bank to make the deposit, and when I got home, the bitcoins were in my account! No fees, and a good exchange rate. I'd use these guys again for sure!

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re having a lot of fun and enjoy the happy feedback. One note of caution to the scammers reading this: this doesn’t make us a soft mark. We’re fixing that lag issue that happens from time to time. And you might need that receipt you don’t have.
Been a while since any trolls have been around. We don’t really mind ‘em. If they’re busy around here trying to figure out how to cheat the sky out of something, that’s less time they have to go lurk in the forums and scam the newbies as they come in from the tor relays.
For all our clients: Please keep your deposit receipt when leaving the bank. You never know. We’ve needed it once to verify a transaction that we were still able to complete within an hour.

Please use the proper reference when evaluating trades. These are bitcoins, and when you say X amount of bitcoins is worth X amount of dollars, what you are really doing is using *some* system to value those bitcoins. Some folks like to use the Mt Gox "average", which isn't. If you're going to reference Gox, you need to use their "Lowest Ask Price", which is the recommended market price at the moment you place a bid, and usually higher than some quoted "average". And Mt. Gox, just like all the other exchanges, has a fee structure. You don't buy coins on any exchange using their "average price". You can bid at that price, but you'll sit in the queue until the moving price hits your arbitrary "average". Your guess is as good as anyone else’s as to just when that will happen.

Someone messaged us earlier today, asking “How exactly are you making anything off your bitcoin transfers? It seems a little bit too good to be true. Otherwise I'd be down for quite a bit of BTC.”
It was early (around here) and we answered: “We can do this because the batch of coins we’re offering are rather old and obsolete. Their block chain numbers are nearly worn off, but they spend just like they used to.
Seriously, we are delighted to hear that you think our rates are too low to be believed. Don't know what kind of reassurance you're looking for, but if a higher rate would make you more comfortable, we can work with that.”

BTC rates have been relatively steady now for several days, and no disruptive weather is being forecast. Actually, the talk over on bitcointalk focuses mainly on the recently defunct pirateat40 HYIP, with all the attendant hand-wringing that goes with a major scam being dealt with. It’s almost like the famous 5 stages of death and dying.
A sufficient number of folks we tend to listen to think that the supposed 500K coins pirateat40 is sitting on doesn’t actually exist. Thus the anticipated selloff that will drive prices through the floor probably isn't gonna happen. Or it may have already happened in smaller increments on the way to the point where we are now.
Bottom line is this: we think BTC rates will remain stable for the short term. If something develops, we will bring it to you right here.

Our apologies for the service interruption yesterday. Our connectivity seems to have returned to normal—solid with our clearnet accounts, not so solid with Tor/SR—so we’re back to trading. Too bad we can’t have it like back in the day, working on a shared server, getting the message that the system would be going down at such and such a time. A colleague of mine worked in the department and during an expansion phase named all the new incoming servers. One of them that would begin increased maintenance from the get-go was named Madonna. He told me he chose that name so he could frequently see the broadcast message “Madonna going down…” He’s just a fanboy fiction kinda guy.

Wat up everyone, BIG fan of Blue Sky Traders here. BST has been my only source for bitcoins since I've been on SR. I consider myself very lucky to have found such an awesome BTC vendor from the beginning! 4 Months, over 2k traded and EVERY SINGLE TIME the bitcoins were in my account before I made it home from the bank. I couldn't recommend BST enough, they are very trustworthy, offer bitcoins at very low rates, and are very easy to use. You can literally have your coins in less than an hour. Just wanted to make a quick post for the excellent service I received from Blue Sky Traders. I am new to bitcoin and SR and they made it extremely easy and painless to obtain some bitcoins. The whole process took under an hour form placing my order to having the coins in my SR account. I will definitely use this vendor again the next time I need some coins.

The best part of all was that by the time I got home from making my deposit the bitcoins were already in my SR account. You can then move from there to any address/account or purchase anything you want. Normally when using the bitinstant-trustcast-wallet method it takes at best a few hours from deposit to SR account. These folks are QUICK. They tell you right up front how many BCs you'll get for your deposit amount so there's not that sickening "moment of truth" like other services when you find out what you got and end up being short of what you needed. I can't say enough positive things about BST - I would use them again tomorrow if I needed to get BCs without any reservation!

Don't put anything in the address portion of the transaction. They can send you coins because they know your username from the escrow, and in SR when you send coins you have the option to send it to a bitcoin address or a SR username. They give you a 4 hour period to make the deposit (4 hours from when they send you a confirmation message, not from when you place the order).

I wanted to add my voice to this thread as well because I had a great transaction with blue sky and he got me my coins faster than bitfloor or bitme ever had. I will be using him for all my future bitcoin purchases. His prices were better than bitfloor or bitme as well.

On the Account page of SR there is a facility to send coins to an address or another SR member. The transfer to another SR member is instant.
We have no need for your email address, or any other PII. You remain anonymous.
We reserve coins when we confirm orders. Inventory is tied up and commitment to a specific rate is held, waiting on a client to complete the deposit. That kind of deal can’t be left open indefinitely.

Been sitting here for hours, restarting Tor, successfully connecting to all sorts of Tor sites...except for Silk Road.
Don't know if others are having the same problem. Starting to think conspiratorially, and wonder if we're somehow being blocked. Just can't come up with any other explanation for our poor Silk Road connectivity.

We'd like to be. We've been trying for an hour now just to access our vendor page and put up a notice about that very thing. It really depends on the answer we get from SR admin. We left a note asking if this was just something we had to get used to, or if it was being corrected. Obviously, we can't just "get used to it", since our business model dictates intermittent, but relatively consistent and timely access.
This is DPR's game, but we can't effectively play if this is gonna be the norm....

I can whole-heartedly recommend Blue Sky Traders for buying bitcoins. I was sketched out at first, especially since they took their business off SR, but I had a very positive experience. It was my first time buying BTC and I was very daunted by the recent Bitinstant clusterfuck and all the confusing alternatives.

I usually don't write up experiences that much unless the service honestly deserves it. I decided to try out BST, and
to tell ya the truth, I was honestly surprised on how good it went. I tried a small transaction, and I must say, I was
totally impressed! I've used other services that were direct deposit, but this was by far the best! I highly recommend
using them as the others are offline for some reason. It will take a bit for them to show up, but thats due to SR
and the actual hash transfer.
I got a few emails, all with good info on what was going on. I didnt exactly check the markup, but will. I'm sure
it was only a small percentage as apposed to a percentage, plus a per coin fee for under certain amounts.
Use them without hesitation, you'll be totally satisfied!!! I will def use them again. The only thing I would recommend
is the option to use different banks. Its most likely not an issue, but if your not near BoA, Wells Fargo is everywhere they are not.
I give the whole experience a A+++ rating! You will not find an easier way to get coins, plus its outside the SR system,
so you can transfer them anywhere easily!!!

BST is the best. Friendly, easy and fast: it was about an hour and a half between when I placed my order and when I had the coin in my wallet (that includes the time it took me to get to BOA and make the deposit). I'll be using them exclusively. 10 out of 10 from me!

I was skeptical, but since bitinstant doesn't send to email anymore (my first btc purchase). I gave it a go. Despite their limited hours for those of us on the west, they are doing a great job. I would recommend to any newbie to give it a go. Depositing money at a bank is so much easier than dealing with the dumbass clerks at cvs, 711 or walmart. The banks actually love you to deposit money! BST make it look easy! Thanks guys. I'll be back.

I was just as ticked off as everybody else when BitInstant got rid of the Cash Deposit option to Major Banks. I was more upset about that than them taking Coinapult away (even if its temporary).
However, I've just done business with Blue Sky Traders and highly recommend them. My email request was answered and I got my bitcoins quickly. I hope they stick around for awhile because I will definitely be returning.
Also, I think that it's good that they no longer have a "shop" on SR (per se). It's best to keep your bitcoins and whatever you may spend them on separate.

Don't forget that tomorrow is a banking holiday for many banks in the United States. Sunday is/was Veteran's Day, which is then observed on the following Monday for federal employees. No mail and no bank services for many. Bank of America and Citibank branches, for example, will be closed. Wells Fargo and Chase banks will still be open, apparently.
Not all banks are closed, but you should keep in mind that your customers may have a hard time finding an open bank if they do business on Monday.

I used BST for the first time today.
I emailed them and within 10 minutes, they gave me everything I needed. Went to the bank, put the cash in, and a hour later in came my bitcoins on the SR. I made a enormous amount deposit, and I was a bit nervous at first, but all my fears were at ease after I saw my coins. I will use them again. I wish their prices were a little lower.

One of our clients observed that so far, our reputation is sterling. But “they could just decide to take everyones money and never come back”. Well, frankly, it’s not enough to be tempted. Besides, the time to do something like that was long ago, before everyone learned who we are, and where we are. Momentarily startling to hear that, we’re sure, but we don’t conduct any illegal activity or sell illegal goods. And clients, by default, remain anonymous to us. Try to relax in the knowledge that we couldn’t steal enough to make it worth giving up our business, fan base, and who knows what else.
Please note that we’ll be closed on Thursday, November 22, 2012 in observance of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. We’re closed only because Bank of America will be closed. Bah, humbug!

This will reduce any difference in opinion to an argument about math.
The Mt. Gox LAP is what you’d pay if you wanted to bid and have it taken almost immediately. It’s often soft, and a bid placed at the LAP will yield a sale of 10 or fewer coins, with the LAP then resetting slightly higher. It’s programmed trading, and if you continue to step the bids, you’ll eventually find “firm ground”, where you can buy coins in the 100s. So, you can see that even referencing the LAP results in a slightly skewed result, but it’s still the best metric available for our purpose.
And for goodness sakes, someone earlier in this thread was saying we took 20%. Hard to say how they were valuing their coins. See our .onion site for more details on how to do it accurately. And remember—Silk Road routinely lists bitcoins at 4 to 6 percent lower than the Gox LAP at any given time.
We will continue to operate from our .onion site, and not rely on SR for what has continued to be insufficient connectivity and reliability to support our business.

The miners' reward will be cut in half, from 50 to 25 soon, and some think it will cause the usual and easily understood rise in price. Some think the market has already priced this in. We think bitcoins will rise in price to the twenties, by the end of Q1 2013. This is based on some financial training, a lot of reading, and a tiny bit of hunch.

I was spending my newly bought bit coins in about an hour, a heck of a lot faster then bit instant or any other bit coin trader that I have used. Blue Sky Traders is my go to vendors for buying $100 or more worth of bit coin. It looks like I may need some more but less then $100 worth so I'll have to use a different source. Dang it it seems that i never buy enough at one go! I may have to use bit instant for the smaller purchase. I guess I'll have to get my fake birth day and name ready for that. No worries tho as I have that stuff already figured out along with a fake addy and fake phone number. Just when i buy something I want and deplete most of my coins, another impossible to resist deal comes along.
Don't hesitate if you are thinking of using BST. They are highly professional and treat their customers with the utmost respect. Contacted BST on Thanksgiving day (well knowing they were closed but was hoping they would see order requrest first thing Friday)....I got an email ON Thanksgiving day after less than an hour letting me know they would email first thing in the morning with the rate.
They kept their word. Gave me specific instruction for cash deposit at bank (no ID required), and had the coins to wallet within an hour of the cash deposit at the bank.
These guys are class! For true non-traceable BTC and lightning fast service, BST is my goto from now on. Their rake was somewhere around 5%, completely fair for the anonymous transaction. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone

2nd Time using BST, and both times have been a pleasure. Fast as can be, 1st time had my BTC in under 30 minutes this time took a whopping 45. Rates are excellent, and as a buyer you give ZERO information about yourself, so for those that value their privacy. BlueSky can't be beat. Also a plus, nice people to deal with!!!
I've used BTCKing(private, but high fees) and Bitinstant, and I prefer BlueSky!!

First time BT buyer here. I ordered 20 BT with an email sent at about 9am PST. Got a reply within 10 minutes saying it was fine that I wouldn't be able to make it to BofA until 4pm PST. Included were very specific instructions that were easy to follow.
Hit the bank just after 4. Asked the teller for an out of state deposit slip, as instructed. She filled everything out, took my cash, and gave me a receipt.
By the time I got home less than an hour later my coins were in my SR wallet.
Couldn't have been easier. 10/10 will use again. And again.

This message is a general trading outlook posting. The miners' block reward halving has come and gone, yet the market didn’t tank or take off on a upstreak tear. Bitcoins will now continue their slow and inexorable march up in price. We don’t think there are any significant or sustainable downturns in the immediate future. Bitcoins are a solid BUY.

Relatively new to SR. Was using bitinstant as the user-recommended method. Needed something new this week with their suspension, and I'm really glad that I discovered Blue Sky Traders (man that sounds fake). But it's true. Just got in contact with them last night, made the trade today. Quick, efficient, and polite communication, very clear instructions, good rate, and they came through. That's pretty much all you need.
I would definitely recommend these guys, and plan on using them again. Kudos to you for your exemplary customer service.

Although I had to drive 30 miles to find a BoA (and passed it like 4 times) once I got there making the deposit was pretty simple, and the staff there at BoA was pretty helpful
When I got home the coins were in my account, so I have no complaints with their service, other than possibly branching out to other banks, not really looking forward to my next trip out there, though it should be less of a hassle this time now that I know where the place is

Blue Sky Traders has been my go to for Bitcoins for quite a while now. I've made a lot of trades with them and every transaction has been absolutely perfect. They're excellent communicators, they deliver your coins faster than anyone else I've used - usually with in a few minutes. Bottom line, these guys do what they say they'll do. They very well may be the best vendor on the road.

Of course we're still accepting orders from Tormail users. We (and others) have noticed that there's the occasional and significant time lag for email delivery. The email you reference above might very well still be in the email twilight zone, and still working a way out.

This was my second time using BST and their service was as good as ever. In fact, I might even rate it slightly higher than my first experience: with their trading desk closed for the past few days, I emailed them to get an idea of when they would be back and what my chances of getting some coin were, considering their sharp increase in demand. Their response was helpful and immediate. These guys are serious about customer service: even IRL, I've rarely received the level of attention and service that they provide. It's service and communication like this, regardless of the product, that is going to keep the Road alive. Long live BST!

As for cheaper coin, the only way to beat our rates (consistently) is to get a major exchange account in Europe or Japan and start wiring money. Our rates are spectacular when the market is steady. When it's rocky, like right now, we sometimes charge high, sometimes actually lose money. Depends on where the market is at that moment. And there are some wild swings! We're doing the best we can, and our continued success (thank you!) gives us reassurance that we're getting at least some of it right.

First transaction with BlueSkyTraders just went through today - what a pleasure!
My options were very limited, so I actually went with their Cash In Mail method. I couldn't be happier. By the time my cash was delivered the BTC were worth .50 cents less than the day I made the purchase, and they adjusted the rate without question! amazing service, all these other positive reviews nailed it!

Just did my first transaction with BST. I placed a large order right before trading hours closed. They were very accommodating and still processed my order even though trading hours were over when I made the deposit. BTC were in my account very quickly. With the demise of BitInstant these guys will be my go-to method for obtaining BTC in the future.

Just completed my first order with Blue Sky Traders. It is now my go-to option over BitInstant/ Walmart MoneyGram.
I thought there may be some delay with either BST or Bank of America with it being the 1st day after Xmas but this was not the case at all. My BC were sent to my wallet by the time I got home. The BoA cashier didn't ask for any sort of ID and even helped me fill out the out-of-state deposit slip when I left something blank.

BST Is one of the most professional BTC vendors on the market right now. With ease of use and great communications. You might have to catch him in the early morning now because of the high demand, but he has never done me wrong with over $20,000 in deposits the last few months.

I'm still not understanding your hostility towards me(right from the beginning to)you were the one being rude every post I have posted clearly states I am new to silk road forgive me for at the time I did not understanding what BTC were honestly I thought they were tokens that you buy to use on silk road to make your purchases and nowhere else, "like a Penny arcade"
I discovered Tor on December 27 I discovered silk road on December 29 was overwhelmed with the possibilities of silk road at that time I decided this would be a great venue to sell my product.
So I decided I would start researching what it would take to be a vendor. I thought I should start with security Mine and the customers spent all day Sunday reading about Internet security and PGP then Monday starting early I began reading about usps shipping policies and stealth packaging at this point I've only seen references to the word bit coin or BTC nothing else .
Again I formed an opinion in my own mind with the little to no reading I had done on the subject that BTC was like a token that you could use to purchase products on silk road again let me explain this to you my second day on silk road forms I had not read anything about BTC only seen the word in passing during my reading about security and shipping.
( and no I did not see the automated PM that dreaded pirate Robert sends to all the members of silk road until last night again I did not spend a lot of time on silk road itself.
I looking at product for maybe an hour the first day mostly checking prices of other vendors I was a little overwhelmed with what I was seeing that's when I seen the SR form button and I've been here every sense.I logged into silk road yesterday evening that's when I noticed that silk road has A PM service and the that's where I found the p.m. from dreaded pirate Robert

Agreed, I have accounts on both MtGox and CampBX, its the amount of time it takes to deposit and convert it that bugs me. Thinking about it now it's a little stupid to pay more when I could just wait, but hell, I'm impatient, and sometimes I need the coins quickly. So like I said, I'm sure I'll be using your services, thanks.

Average is about 14.1 .. I believe yesterday it was about 14.15...Damn 7 days? I freak out when it used to take 2 days from Sugar Mama..Holy FUCK!

We've never actually had a customer do a BoA ATM transaction, although one guy tried to tell us he did. Really don't know if it would work, but if it did, I'm sure the machine won't automatically credit our account. Based on our experience in the banking world, we think a human verifies all cash deposits no matter the intake method.
If you CAN pull it off, please let us know how to do it.

I just got my coins for 14.10 yesterday. I cannot say enough good things about BST, and i've used the cash in mail options twice now.
i sent out the cash on friday, sent priority with DCN (you gotta do that wish cash in the mail... unless you're dumb) and i placed the cash in a small cardboard box in a bubble wrapped package just so it doesn't look like cash in an envelope. BST got my money yesterday, which was Monday (friday > monday shipping for my cash w/ priority) they sent me an email saying they received my cash, and had the coins in my SR account within that hour. the best part was the rate was at 14.10 on friday, but had gone up to 14.20 on monday, but they gave me the lower rate. the first experience was even better - the rate was at 14.45 when i sent the cash, and it had dropped to 13.90 by the time my cash got there - BST hooked me up with the 13.90 rate without a question!
i have to say, if you're limited for options the cash in the mail option works great for me!

Had an order for 100 bitcoins with BlueSkyTraders today, emailed them last night asking about the fee. Since most of you guys say around an extra 10% for the fee, I was assuming it'd be around 15/coin. They sent me an order confirmation in the morning, 1445.00 for 100 coins, which is about 14.45 per coin. The fee being only 4.9%-ish. I deposited the money after I had finished class and emailed them. About 15 minutes later, I receive confirmation that the coins were on their way and by the time I had come home, the coins were already sitting in my SR account.
BST are very professional and courteous, not to mention such a low fee for such a large amount. They saved me a lot of time and hassle by allowing me to obtain all 100 coins at once, rather than having to deposit 500 dollars 3 times via bitinstant.
Definitely will do business again!

i gotta tell you i had a big problem last night with BITINSTANT sending my funds directly to MTGOX but sending it to the wrong account number. they've made many transfers before and i've never changed the account number on my account, but of course, they say it's my fault. at any rate, it's been 36 hours and many conversations with MTGOX and a couple with BITINSTANT about who can correct what. MTGOX has frozen the funds so they can't be used, so the money sits here in limbo while both companies figure out what to do. they have absolutely no protocol in place for an error like this. damn infuriating. both report that it is not a simple correction, so i'm guessing i'll be waiting a while for them to figure out what to do.
having said that, i decided to use BLUE SKY TRADERS today, and was nervous about having another problem with a company i had never done business with, because it seemed so easy. so i took a leap of faith, and, well, it WAS easy and i can't believe how speedy and efficient. it's really just one stop. you don't have to send a moneygram to zip zap for them to send it to bitinstant for them to send it to mt gox for them to send it to SR. every step along that path there's a possibility for error, human or computer.
with BLUE SKY TRADERS, you make one very familiar transaction (a bank deposit) and you are immediately set up with bitcoins. do yourself a favor, especially newbies. use their service.

Emailed them the night before I planned on depositing. When I woke up the next morning... err... afternoon, had received the deposit instructions. They confirmed the deposit and sent blockchain info by the time I got back home (~2pm). At 6:30pm my coins were in my SR wallet. And by 6:32pm they were already spent on another purchase ;D
Honorable mention to CaptainMal who's helped me out in the past. Can't blame a guy for shopping around and dipping his toes in the market. Can't beat this service at this price!

3 hours?! Either the bitcoin network was moving slow today or you didn't get back to check earlier. My coins from BST generally show up within like 30-45 mins.
Now if only citystar would quit buying up all the coins so us small timers could get some....

Each day they set a per bitcoin rate, which is higher than the actual rate. so there fee is different each day and actually different a lot depending on the prices of bitcoins at that moment.
So if btc price is 13.50 and they sell bitcoins at a flat rate of 14.25. The fee is .75 cents per btc. But during the day the prices of bitcoins goes to 13.75. They still stay at 14.25 so it would only be .50 fee.
You email them and they respond within an hour and give you instruction to go to bank of america and fill out an out-of-state deposit slip. You then hand the slip and the cash to the teller and she gives you back a receipt. THAT IS IT. You don't show ID, nothing.
Then by the time you're home they have sent you the coins. Simple.
But there seems to be a higher demand than they can fill at the moment. Hopefully they fix this.

Man Bitinstant no longer accept cash deposits to bank is probably the best and worst thing to ever happen for these guys. I mean I am sure it is absolutely amazing from a revenue standpoint. but now they have to figure out how to keep up with the demand which is obviously huge. But my applause to them overall for keeping things very professional and doing a great job.

I like everyone else was skeptical about sending my funds to an unknown entity. Today I decided to bite the bullet and deposit a significant amount of loot into their BOA account. And just like everyone else before me - I had the bitcoin waiting for me when I arrived home. I love this service and it is one more piece that I can remain anonymous on with less to be traced back to me. I will be doing all my coin transactions with this method in the future.

I was a tad skeptical about doing a cash deposit to receive bitcoins this way, and especially deterred due to the distance of my local Bank of America (nearly an hour away!) but I read the reviews and decided to go through with it. Nothing to lose right? Nothing to lose was ABSOLUTELY right! I arrived home to an empty wallet, but within the next 20 minutes all of my coins were there. That's not even the best part! When I realized that I made a mistake in my calculations and was short a hair fraction of a bitcoin for my order (I ordered the correct amount, the error was my mistake), I emailed the vendor my woes and they helped me correct it within minutes. This was my first bitcoin transaction in my personal history, and it was wonderful. From now on I will always and only order my bitcoins from blue sky traders.

ABSOLUTELY incredible I have tried many ways of obtaining bitcoins and blueskytraders is a dream come true. I really am amazed/astonished at the level of customer care I recieved. There was a mistake (COMPLETLY MY FAULT) and we were able to come to a resolution within minutes and I recieved my bitcoins within the hour. We think we’re our own harshest critic, and we’re getting embarrassed by our infrequent, yet inopportune closings due to inventory issues. Our group has grown smaller, but we haven’t lost market cap. We no longer have the potential for cap expansion though.
We’re looking at normally closing one more day per week, to help prevent any unscheduled closings. Our reasoning is: even if our trading days decrease, that’s better for the customers than surprises like today.
Please tell us what you think. Without you there is no us.

I've done many very large exchanges with you guys, I'd suggest to stay open and have customers email you and email them back if they have enough rep/large enough order for you to fill based on your availability.
The ease of use of your service is worth waiting a few days for my coins.

I would say to close 1 more day a week, or put a cap on small orders like you did in the past. I know several people who put in large orders of several K a week and it's annoying not to be able, because we already have our custom orders ready to go and we have to keep messaging our vendors to hold on a few more days but to save the product for us. That's my .02 cents, we THANK YOU for your service :)

Order confirmations are available when the trading desk is open: Tuesday through Friday, 11 AM to 6 PM EST. Deposits may be completed at any time before order expiration at midnight. If you need to complete the deposit after the trading desk is closed, just let us know when you’ll be hitting the bank so we can be looking for the deposit update.
We’re hoping this change will improve our service for clients in other time zones. We’ll be relocating to the Great Midwest in several weeks, which will facilitate this range even more efficiently. As soon as our schedule is set, we’ll post it for you.

so, i actually spoke with a teller about the possibility of depositing money into a business account through an atm.. i told her i didn't have full control of the account, it's like a partnership.. i told her that i had all the account numbers, i was just curious about the atm deposit (i didn't know really what to tell her) she was really helpful!! but she said that without an atm card and pin# there was no possible way.. but that they did have a night drop box where deposits could be made.. just wanted to let you guys know!!

so if this drop box deposit thing ends up working out, it'll be late at night when i deposit (pacific time), but i'll have to email you that morning with my deposit request.. and you won't receive deposit confirmation until the next day.. I was just wondering what the fee (in terms of percentage) ends up being on average. Also when depositing the cash at the bank how much can you do at once.. I feel weird throwing $5000 in the little tube at the drive thru of the bank.

Monday 1/21 is a federal holiday and the banks are closed.
The trading desk will be open on Tuesday 1/22 11 AM to 6 PM EST. Deposits may be completed at any time before order expiration at midnight.
We will be totally-out-of-the-office closed Wednesday 1/23 until Tuesday 1/29.
This website will sporadically disappear for short periods during this time.
We are temporarily suspending inbound cash-in-mail transactions while we move our offices. We will reopen CIM transactions sometime in February.

I ordered from BST last week and decided to post some feedback after making a forum account. Absolutely topnotch service offered by BST. Now that BitInstant and other providers who offer bank deposit are no longer doing that service, BST was the obvious choice. Within 5 min of my initial order email I had received a reply with the deposit instructions. After the deposit was made, I had a confirmation email waiting for me after returning from the bank. Shortly after the confirmation email, I had the coins in my wallet. Overall 5/5 experience and am planning on utilizing BST again in the future. Thank you for all you do BST!

As it seems now with your large customer base you will run out of bitcoins. Does this means those that email you first will get first come first serve bitcoins before they run out? or those who deposit it first?

We’re a little more than taken aback by the demand. Not sure how to respond to the negativity because we’re doing the best we can, AND keeping the rates low.
And to make one thing clear: if we tell you we’ve reserved coins for you, or have sent you an order confirmation, those coins will remain set aside until we send them to you, the reservation period ends, or the order confirmation expires with no deposit. We’ll never be caught short because we never over trade.
We’ve decided to remain closed tomorrow, and work on replenishment rather than take a chance on another unscheduled trade closing. The primary operational goal at the moment is minimizing surprises.

I think they take orders on a first-come first-serve basis. You might have to actually request the order while they are open or not sold out. I don't think they can take orders while they are closed. I might be mistaken but I believe that's how it works, unfortunately this is hard because BST often sells out quickly.

they said if you get a confirmation email, the one telling you the bank info and how much to deposit and all that, then you will get the coins.
if you got that email, just shoot them an email. or just email them anyway. they were sold out the other day but still helped me out.

Hoping to get the confirmation email that my coins are on the way soon... Made my deposit later than usual. about 2:40pm. I usually have the confirmation email and coins on the way before I even get home from the bank. I was hoping to make the cutoff time before they take a break from the office but figured maybe they just left a bit early... 5:10pm EST and still no confirmation email... not ready to panic yet but this is definitely out of the norm. Maybe I am just spoiled by such great service most of the time.

This service is great, but it's starting to fall victim to the flawed model that BTC vending, the BTC model itself, are prone to. With uncapped BTC trades for cash, anonymously, any smart person with investment money would be (and has been) buying all the BTC they can for the last 6 months.
If I knew exactly how many BTC that BST was going to have for sale tomorrow, I'd buy every single one. I'd wait 2 weeks, and once it's gone to 18, or 20, I'd sell them and take my 25% ROI on my investment. Legitimate investors are likely getting in on BTC, or are testing the waters, as right now there is nothing else out there with returns like this. It was under 14 when I used BST. It's now at 17 basically.
Until somebody figures out a solution to prevent investors from buying them, marking them up enough to not deter sales (5% seems to be fine), it's basically diversifying and yielding returns on drug dealing.
I'm afraid of where this BTC thing is going at this pace.

Just wanted to come in and show some love for BST.
My first transaction with them was flawless and I had y coins in about 1.5 hours after making the deposit.
The process could not have been easier (possibly even the easiest since BitInstant removed their bank deposit option).
I would highly recommend BST for any Bitcoin needs and I will continue to use them in the future.

I don't bank there, and don't know anybody who does. I have done deposits without needing more than than account number. The VA or IL things seems unlikely to have been the problem, but - sounds like it was.

Hope so, we just lost a good local source, guys cashed in his chips but I'd keep hold of btc as prices are going higher which means nothing here as product prices ought to be matched to the dollar, euro or pound, but I'm seeing insane prices for a gram of bud, I mean, I could get half a gram of charlie off here for almost cheaper than a gram of bud!

Question for anyone who traded today (later half of the day) - were any of you told you had the wrong account? I'm 99% sure it was due to either the tellers working not understanding the deposit method, or I think the tellers at the branches I tried were just new, and/or lazy.
We apologize on behalf of BoA for all that confusion. For some reason, a significant number of you reported problems ranging from incorrect address to non-existent account reports. Many had no issues at all. No one can explain it to us, so we're not going to make up some shit just to tell you. BoA seemed genuinely perplexed when I recounted what I was hearing from the field. They further assured me that the information in our order confirmation is correct.
One customer reported being freaked out because he was somehow bullied into showing ID. Which is strange, because the aforementioned BoA staffer didn't believe it when I told him. Totally not bank policy. We're not sure what happened--we weren't there. But if you don't want to show ID, the worst possible consequence we could think of is being denied the transaction. No harm, no foul.
Again, sorry folks, but this ain't because we moved. We've done a lot of trading since that address changed. Today was just some kind of bad day.

Proof code 53 (VA) is the proper one because thats where the account was originally opened. They system will not pull it up if they use the code for the address everyone was instructed to bring.

I've deposited $2800 before. Obviously if you deposit $10,000+ they are going to ask you to fill out some other paperwork.
I would say keep it under $5K

It's a flat rate per coin, so if our rate is $20 per coin and you deposit $100, you will receive 5 BTC.

BST summarized it solidly but I'll chime in one more time for them because BST is a pleasure to do business with. In short, if you check out their site what you see is what you are paying: no hidden fees or deductions. They state exactly what the price per bitcoin they are trading at for that time and that is the price you are paying and will receive the appropriate exchange of coins according to what the price they say they are trading at--nothing is added after the fact so you always have a precise idea of how many coins to expect.
Give these guys a try, you won't want to get bitcoins any other way.

Our bank deposit order confirmations expire at midnight on the day they are sent.

No ID is required. The information that goes on the deposit slip is about us, not you. You remain anonymous.

So, to clarify - if we just remove BTC from the equation, since you're already converting USD to BTC, adding your estimated profit margin and then just giving the deposit amount using BTC Rate Y, and then Desposit $X/Y = USD to USD:
as a client, $1000 deposited is $1000 in the BTC Wallet if done before the midnight expiration comes? Or is there another variable in there?

haven't used bst since they were here on this site. I was skeptical about them at first with the new site, but I'll tell you what, the transaction was smooth like butter. Much better than the days of "get-bitcoin".

First I want to be clear I'm not saying that you're doing anything cheap or wrong with either model is correct - one is just different than the other, so I just want to clear it up. Since it's SR, I'll use that as an example, even though I'd be having any BTC purchases go to someplace simply to collect interest. You're an investment firm in the highest-ROI quasi-legal fiat currency on the planet, so - you make money AND help people get BTC for a very fair rate. That being said:
There are two rates - the BST daily trade rate, and others - in this case SR rate. So, let's say that on SR, if I have exactly 10BTC, and I change to "view as USD" - it's exactly $21 per coin. The BST daily trading rate in that case would be maybe $22, to make the math easy. For your work/hedging/expenses, you're adding $1 per BTC, or just under 5%.
So, here's what I'm figuring out.
If I go to your site, and say "I'd like to get $1000" (as in, I'm depositing $1000 exactly). The order form comes back saying that you are to go to X and deposit $1000, expires at midnight. One of the two options below is correct - I'd just like to know which one, as it impacts what I would want to deposit.
1. I head over to el banco, put down $1000 cash. The BST rate of the day is $22, so I get 1000/22 from you, which is 45.45btc.
OR
2. I am transferred 45.45btc from you, which at SR's current rate, is $954.45. So by setting your price at $22, you've basically made the fee/amount you earn $45.55 in this example.
So, if literally wanted $1000 on SR, I'd have to go on SR, figure out the current SR BTC->USD exchange, and then find out I need (1000/$21) is actually 47.61 btc, and would order 47.61 BTC, which at $22 is a deposit of $1047.22
It seems like #2 is how you operate, but for whatever reason, I was under the impression, especially after the last post, that USD to USD transactions were possible, but now that I've typed it out, that seems unlikely.
So, may have answered my own question, but - if you could confirm that, I'd appreciate it. Also - do you have any division or BST site that has no ties in to SR, and doesn't ask for a review or unavoidable mentioning of it? That, legally, seems like it could undermine anybody who is buying BTC for non-illegal reasons.

sorry to ask a question before considering doing a serious transaction with you...it's not rocket science, but if I'm buying thousands of dollars, knowing that SR btc-value is irrelevant would have been a decision maker.
customer service and taking stupid questions, even if was already answered in a vague way the first time, it's not rocket science. A simple "$2500 deposit will be divided by the BST rate. SR has their own value and you should factor in their pricing" would have been sufficient.

If you're having trouble figuring out how much money you need to send to get X amount onto the road it's a pretty simple process.
1. Go to your account setting on SilkRoad
2. Set all prices to BTC
3. Add items to your cart, note your total after shipping(displayed in BTC). Write it down. We'll call this A
4. Go to BST's onion url. At the top of their page (during trade hours) they post the BST rate. We'll call this B
5. Multiply A and B and you have X
6. Email BST saying " I would like to make a bitcoin deposit of X dollars at [Your bitcoin address]
7. Await reply, follow instructions.

With BitInstant down for the past two days I decided to give BST a try and they executed it perfectly. I e-mailed them yesterday evening and had their reply by the morning. A few hours later they e-mailed the account and deposit details.
By the time I got back to a computer after making the deposit the bitcoin transfer already had two confirmations.
It is great to know there is an alternative available to BitInstant. It seems about half the time I use them there is some issue, and other times (like now) they don't even have the capability to send bitcoins. I prefer the deposit process with Moneygram, the BoA guy tried to encourage me to sign up for an account myself, nothing very high pressure though. Okay, 2 million pound gorilla in the room. How the fuck does BST rationalize all this income to their tax revenue service? Either you guy are bad ass at Laundering Money or you guys have bigger balls then I will ever have.
Sad thing is you so much BTC that by the end of this run you will be celebrities. I like your style. BST but I hope you're taking your precautions. I'm over BitInstant, I'm gonna try your mother fucking shit out.
There's a few things to consider here. As far as I can tell, these guys are operating in the open. Probably file taxes and all that shit. Money in minus money out, IRS don't care so long as you pay. And as far as I can tell, what they are doing is perfectly legal!
Now that doesn't mean LE isn't taking notice, I'm sure the DEA has an agent or 2 on this board 24x7. But how many resources are the FBI/DEA devoting to this? I mean, this board's overall drug traffic is smaller than what runs through a suburb of New York. like less than .001% of all trafficking. But, there is the *potential*, and there is the *notoriety*. That's where the politics comes into play. My guess is SR is way down on the political radar, for now.
My devious mind takes BST down a few different paths, both from the LE and the player point of view. Like every system, there are weak points. The whole idea of SR is such that LE has to dedicate a disproportionate amount of resources in order to simply capture one scoundrel, and the overall infrastructure remains. Evolution/adaptation.
I think it would be wise to hit different BoA's each time, maybe with different people, watch where you park (or better yet get dropped off). There are cameras everywhere. Make the dots really hard to connect.
This all said, from what I've seen and experienced, BST is legit.

Well today was my first time using BST for bitcoin exchange, emailed them yesterday for an 'Early order' got the order confirmation today in the morning when they opened for business, went to the bank to deposit the money and got my coins within an hour if not less, all went well, no complaints on my end, definitely recommend going with this guy for your BTC needs.

So I am trying to figure this out, I was going with bitinstant, then it became unreliable. I was going with Sugamama with moneypaks at 10% now she is always backed up and upped to 12%.
Now, I want to try BST I found the onion site for them on the vendor page, sent them a email to the one they have listed on the page. Said.... I need 1200, would love to do it this morning.
Now, I don't know how much that would give me in coins. And I don't know if that is the correct way to do it. Help? Thanks.

I have an early order in, They replied very quickly, as soon as I get the fill in information I will make a journey to BOA. Then I will come home, see my coins, probably watch some cartoons, and repeat the process the next morning. On a side note, I think I need a extra couple hundred worth, but I already have my pre order in, so instead of mucking it up with a , hey can I bump this up a little email, I will just do this one and do another tomorrow. Right? Right. That is all.

you have to look on their page when they are open. you ask for btc not cash amount. do the math yourself. if btc are$62.10 a coin, they will charge something like $63.10 a coin. thats their rate and its posted while the trading is open. do the math, email them asking for 20 btc and they will reply with the dollar amount to deposit.
looks as they are closed today. probably because btc are so unstable now. btc jumped almost $20 a coin the last 2 days.

They really are that great. I've used them multiple times. I have to admit, I was nervous the first time, since I was getting bitcoins (and quite a few) anonymously, but they have been magnificent every step of the way. They even took the time to answer stupid questions I had when I missed the info on their webpage. I've noticed that a few other (small) traders are starting to disappear and go under (BitMe, etc.), while Blue Sky seems to be getting stronger and more efficient. I am so happy I found them...it makes the process so damn easy! If you have to get a bunch of coin, use them. You will not be disappointed. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them...not a single thing.

BST is fulfilling early orders and they are selling out just with those. I've tried to make a trade during trading hours twice this week and each time I've received an email saying that I was too late to the party. They suggested I put in an Early Order. Even with that, their was still a queue. So, if anyone wants to get in on the BST train, you should definitely send an email stating that your trade is for an early trade or you will be out of luck.

Another immaculate transaction with BST for around 1500$, ended up profiting about $50 by the time the coins were in my account due to the rising exchange rate. BTC was in my non-SR wallet by the time I got home from making the deposit. Like psychoknot said they are often selling out, for this reason I recommend utilizing the early ordering service.

BST had my coins to me by the time I made it home. Very fast.
Was my first order with the, super easy. Walk in any BOA, fill in the info, hand cash, get recepit < you know the word i mean!!!! And walk out.
Could not be more pleased. However as stated above, get a email to them in the night if you want a shot at coins the next day because they do run out quickly, and as they get more word of mouth it will only get worse. You need coins? Need them fast at almost no fee? You found the place.

Keep in mind that most email services allow you to sign in using Tor as long as the IP address appears as the same country that the account was registered with. You can create accounts with certain providers (a few big ones) with Tor as long as you allow scripts when you sign up. If they require an email addy to confirm your new addy, many allow you to use a Tormail account to do so. You can also go to the library to create an address, then use Tor at home (as long as your IP address appears to be the same country that you used to sign up).

They will email you back with the amount you will receive in BTC depending on the exchange rate at the time and the instructions for depositing the cash at Bank of America. Also read their email carefully! If other people also want $2000 of BTC's they will change the deposit amount slightly. They may instruct you to deposit $1999.75 or $2000.25 for example to differentiate the different deposits so they know who has paid.

We're just trading bitcoins here. And our name all over the Road is just advertising. At one point, we did a count, and Bitinstant and one other commercial trader was mentioned way more often in the forums than any of us smaller traders.

BST is legit. Made a large purchase the other day right before bitcoin value started dropping again which sucked but the service was fast and easy. I even got a couple more coins than agreed upon, possibly out of pity but fuck it, I'll take pity coins.

Thats what BST was all about.... getting bitcoins at the last minute for us dumbasses who don't play ahead. Now there is no real service where I can go deposit money anonymously into a bank account and get bitcoins within the hour, especially with Bitcopia going down.
I hope BST finds some middle ground. Maybe sell the majority through EO but save a good chuck for people who want BTC day of? What would it take logistically in order to accomplish this?

It sucks that the day of the "let's get some coins right now" are done for the most part. It now takes planning and coordination, too much work now, lol.
On a serious note though, I won't be surprised to see BST soon frozen out of business too. Seems the powers that be are going to make getting BTC a very intrusive id required transaction.

BST is very legit. Best service I've used so far. I've had to use early order every time, but that's fine by me. I always get my coins a few days before I need to use them anyway. After bitfloor went down, I was surprised to see BST still going strong but I'm glad they are. We need to take advantage of whatever services we have at our disposal while we can. I've only been involved with Bitcoin/SR for 6 weeks and have already seen so many radical changes it's ridiculous. I don't mind funding from my bank account, but it takes 4-6 days. Anything that can be done in 24 hours or less, whether anonymous or not will have my support. Long live BST!

@ ripping walls, yea bro u can set up a wallet at blockchain, where u watch your confirmations happen whn u do buy coins..Do u know what im talkig bout? If got a off roadback up wallet there.. Also U could always have your coins snt to Blackarkt reloaded, and then whn SR is down eaither know thee sae there, or have options to use other SR vendors that sell theree, Then u can always Withraw your coins from Black market and send it to your SR address , take a Hour tops.. I did it last Nov whn SR went down.. But u need to make a COpy of your SR wallet address, then encrypt it using your PGP and store it on a USB stick. That way when its time to send them back u have the address for sr handy.. BMR seems to always be up and running so it seems like a safe place to hold your coins, and if u decide to buy from a vendor u knw from here ur good to go as well..

They have a cash in mail service as well. I haven't tried it, but I may have to if shit gets too fuckin stupid. They give you instructions on how to do so on their site.

they use BOA. you fill out an out of state deposit slip with the information BST provides you and thats it. they will see when the money is deposited and your coins should be in your account within 2 hours.

they use BOA. you fill out an out of state deposit slip with the information BST provides you and thats it. they will see when the money is deposited and your coins should be in your account within 2 hours.

BST service is great, out of the 4 times I used them the fourth was during the crash. since then I have luckily found a MP to btc convertor that is very fast and responsive. IF I didn't lose 350 dollars that day BST would still be my go to place to get coins.

@ ripping walls, yea bro u can set up a wallet at blockchain, where u watch your confirmations happen whn u do buy coins..Do u know what im talkig bout? If got a off roadback up wallet there.. Also U could always have your coins snt to Blackarkt reloaded, and then whn SR is down eaither know thee sae there, or have options to use other SR vendors that sell theree, Then u can always Withraw your coins from Black market and send it to your SR address , take a Hour tops.. I did it last Nov whn SR went down.. But u need to make a COpy of your SR wallet address, then encrypt it using your PGP and store it on a USB stick. That way when its time to send them back u have the address for sr handy.. BMR seems to always be up and running so it seems like a safe place to hold your coins, and if u decide to buy from a vendor u knw from here ur good to go as well..

Of course they can be charged. You can be charged with anything, now will it stick in a court of law, that is a whole different thing.
They are just selling BTC which at this point is completely legal, so I don't think they have a problem with being charged with aiding and abetting. What you are going to see and have seen is the slow disappearance of anonymity of purchasing BTC.
The vendors are becoming fewer and fewer and it is getting harder to not have a name or legit email attached to a BTC purchase. Not impossible but it is definitely becoming slim pickings out there.
Look BST no longer accept tormail and has deleted their pgp, I would bet this is pressure being put on them to keep everything traceable to a degree.

If you didn't use your actual name and didn't have to verify it, and made it at some free wifi place then thats better than nothing, but remember if you log into facebook(as an example) via TOR, you're pretty much saying who you are.

Yes, this is what I use. Honestly, your just buying bitcoins, its not illegal, but you can create a fake profile/email on yahoo and access it on TOR all the time. Beware though, Yahoo will take your fake IP location and translate their pages accordingly. It is not uncommon for my login screen to be in French, German or Dutch haha

Yes, but if you did get busted for drugs on a non-tor related charge, and they started looking through your computer. It would be better to have no evidence of that tied to you. I know I won't get any heat on me just for buying the coins alone.

I share this sentiment. Used this service in the past because it was "Bitcoins delivered in about an hour or less". Now it's "Bitcoins delivered in about a week if you've got an appointment".

Even with the appointment necessary I still love these guys. I can never seem to get my deposit made before 5pm CST when their trading desk closes - I just shoot them an email right after I deposit and they jump right on it instantly. Never had a bad or even "just okay" customer service experience w/ them. I am fascinated how their business actually operates, makes a profit, etc. Would be an interesting thing to observe!

BST is the shit, had email problems and multiple attempts to get a hold of them period. Finally I did and they were quite understanding, filled me in on a cancelled order and made my experience twenty-fold better than I'd ever expect from someone trying to make money! I guess these guys understand customer service is the difference between a successful business and a general service.
+2 for BST, and will be making appointments with them for a long time coming.

Something a bit peculiar happened with my deposit today.
Went to Bank of America, filled an out of state deposit slip for $850, everything was going fine just like always. Then, the lady behind the counter asked me to swipe my debit card. I replied that I was paying in cash, and she asked that I swipe my debit card anyways.
I told her that I didn't have it on me, and after she gave me an odd look the transaction went fine.
Can anyone comment on why this may have happened?

sometimes they do that and use it as your id incase you are the account holder they give you a more detailed receipt with account balance and such. you did the right thing, it is not needed so don't give it to them 8)

BST doesn't get any information about us except the email address we use and BTC address. The deposit is anonymous. But yes, I too worry about the legality of BST's operation when they openly advertise on Silk Road, a point I have mentioned here before.

Logging into silkroad is not illegal. Buying stuff(legal) on silkroad is not illegal. Buying and selling bitcoin is not illegal. What these guys are doing is not illegal in any sense. If what you're saying was true then any drug dealer that went into a bank and withdrew cash to buy drugs could be held liable for "giving money to drug dealers?"lol But its not because they have no idea what you are going to do with the money. The coins can be sent to any wallet, anywhere. Not just your SR wallet. They are simply exchanging cash for bitcoin. So how long until they get busted? I guess that will be when they make exchanging btc for cash illegal.
And after my 5th transaction with BST they just keep getting better and better! I will never use anyone else.

We will email you mon/tues and give you details.' Monday rolls around and I get an email saying to deposit some exact amount close to $200 at BofA. Sometimes its $200 and sometimes its $199.45. So I waltz into BofA. Pull up my email and show it to the teller with all the info and tell her to fill out my out of state deposit slip. She does and I hand her money and leave. I drive about 15 minutes to my house and get on my computer. I open up my wallet that now has my coins I just bought 15-30 minutes ago. Then I transfer into my SR account. Wait an hour for that to happen. Then I start ordering the nectars of the gods from the various gentlemen around the world. Its that easy. I'd say the hardest part of the entire transaction is going to work to make the money to send to BST.

Well bitinstant is such a bitch. Going to CVS getting on that stupid little red phone. I seriously just hand the teller my phone and 30(usually a lot less) minutes later I have coin. I just use whatever email is most convenient at the time. And you have to have a teller but they never ask for my name or anything. And I have it sent to a qt wallet I have set up on my computer. Takes about 8 hours for the program to set up the wallet but works wonderfully.

LE isn't going to bust them, what will probably end up happening as has been happening is that the Banks will probably just end up freezing their accounts(due t pressure probably) and driving them out of business.
If you haven't noticed BST has gradually started distancing itself from SR and the "shady" part of Tor. They no longer accept tormail, way back they stopped using SR as their business account, and lately I just noticed they have removed all their Tor related links.
I'm sure is safe to say they are being proactive in delaying what will probably be their inevitable forced closure. No arrest no drama, just shut out of the banking system.

They have a cash in mail service as well. I haven't tried it, but I may have to if shit gets too fuckin stupid. They give you instructions on how to do so on their site.

I placed an early order on Tuesday for deposit/transaction on Friday (today), and they were short on coins and I got the shaft. And this wasn't exactly a $99.99 BTC order either.

Hey MC and others... I am in pretty much the same boat. Put in my order a few days early... Got an email from BST saying they are going to revamp the way they do things so there will be no more waiting 4-5 days for coins. I am just curious.. has anyone tried bitinstant lately? I am very hesitant to put in an order with them but as my bitcoin order was on the smaller side I would possibly consider it if they are up and running and people are getting their coins in a timely manner...
Hopefully BST does revamp their system and get to a point of having coins in stock all the time. They have always done right by me in the past and these little hiccups are understandable given the volatility of bitcoin.
Hopefully my local guy comes through so I can get something to get my nod on this weekend. :)

They obviously have some kind of broker level connections with coin. I think with this method, they will have much more capitol in their hands ahead of acquiring coin, making it much more likely to fulfill orders. I think, instead of taking early orders, and then having to let people down if they didn't get the coins, the extra cash in their hands gives them more pull. Already got my coins from this morning. :)

I am in the same boat, everytime I have used them they have been quick and easy; they have changed their depositing structure supposedly and they have to wait until their side is replenished with BTCs in order to get them to us. Message explicitly states the coins will be before or by 10 AM the following day. Just have to have some patience 8)

I did my first transaction with them yesterday and it was flawless. To the comments above that they are distancing themselves from deepnet and tor, I don't think this is the case. I used a tormail address and they were very responsive - answering all emails within 15 minutes. The signature in their emails says:

One question - although I was not asked for ID by the BofA teller, the teller did start asking questions which kind of pissed me off - whose account is this? is this personal? what kind of business is this? what do they sell? Without giving details, I answered in a vague way that seemed to satisfy the teller and my deposit went through without delay. What I really wanted to say is "none of your fucking business asshole" but figured discretion was more appropriate.
I was not the least bit concerned about bringing heat on myself over SR by answering questions, but I didn't want to say I'm buying digital currency with cash as that might raise red flags for BofA to scrutinize BST's account even though it's legal.
Any advice on what to say to the teller if they start asking about the deposit? Just say it's private?

I'd say it depends on whether the deposit address you gave to BST is tied to your identity. If it is, then yes you need to tumble them (sending from wallet to wallet does nothing, zero, to conceal your identity; you must tumble). If your deposit address is fully anonymous, YOU don't need to tumble. Perhaps BST might appreciate it if you tumbled so that they don't have a lot of transactions that are BST-->Customer-->SR as opposed to BST-->Customer-->Tumbler (even though SR automatically tumbles deposits you make, so theoretically an extra tumble isn't necessary - most people recommend it just to be extra safe).

Technically, you don't HAVE to say anything. But they have asked me if "this was my account", and I replied, No. They proceed with the transaction, hand me my receipt and change and I dip out.

I'm about to make my first transaction with BST tomorrow. I am a little worried about what to tell the bank teller if they ask questions (like others in this thread). I was thinking about saying that I was paying back a loan but that means it's personal and if BST have a business account (like I'm guessing they do) then that would look weird. Any recommendations?

I have used BST twice, the first time ~3 weeks ago. You have nothing to fear, if my experience is anything like typical. I walked into BofA, (there's always someone standing there to see if you need help) they ask what I need, told them I needed to make an out of state cash deposit. They gave me the proper deposit slip. The only question they asked was whether it was a business or personal account. Really, that is all they might ask you. I made sure that they indicated that it was a VA business, although the address is in IL, but this is all explained in the email they will send you. I was never asked for ID, what the payment was for, anything like that. I would expect that you have nothing to worry about. I had the money in my wallet by the time I got home. That surprised the hell out of me since I was not expecting it until 10am the next morning. Like I said, used them one more time since then and don't have any plans to use anyone else if things keep going this smoothly. Hope this helps.

Yeah if you think about it, there is no reason they should ever ask you why you are doing a transaction. It's none of their business. I did get asked what zipzap was and why I was sending them a money order once. This was in a small hick town Wally World and I have no doubt in my mind that they had been informed to watch out for strange transactions. I just told them that its an easy way to pay a bill. Simple.

Well after an hour of navigating my city by bicycle looking for a BoA I finally found the location, and it was an ATM. That was really a slap in the face. I guess BST is not for me either. It looks like a bank transfer through localbitcoins is my only option now (that I know of anyway).

Don't fret MrImporter. BST's regular hours have them closed Friday-Sunday. So waiting until Monday is not THAT strange for them. I TOTALLY get how shitty it must be to wait for that many coins to find their way back to you. Waiting 24 hours for moneypak --> btc vendors when I first started here had me spinning in a tizzy until the coins cleared. A few days would be torture. But, as I'm sure you know, BST are a trustworthy bunch and they will get you the coins. Hell, with the dropping price you may even get more than you originally hoped!

I'm waiting on some coins myself. This isn't exactly the ideal first time experience, but with everything I've read about BST, I do believe they'll deposit the BTC I am owed. As long as this is handled properly, I'll probably still use them. It's too convenient just going into a BOA and depositing cash - that's how I used to do it with BitFloor before they closed down. I've never had to wait four days (and counting) for coins however...

LocalBitcoins.com for sure. I just helped a friend navigate through his 1st transaction, and it was a BoA deposit. Coins were in wallet in minutes.
He only paid $5. USD over the going price.

This is as bad, or even worse than the bitinstant troubles. Obviously something is wrong with your business model when BTC taking a dive causes your entire business to screech to a halt for 2 weeks. I wouldn't trust this site with a dollar of my money after watching all this go down. Not with all the other options out there that are much easier. Tired of people selling stuff they don't have then getting pompous and expecting you to wait on them and "hope" they can fill your order eventually. All these cash for bitcoin exchanges, with the exception of localbitcoins for me, are seriously flawed. The customers have little recourse if they lose money and want to remain anonymous. They are selling you coins at a substantial markup with their fees and then take no responsibility when their little scheme fails. I think several of these exchanges, especially bitinstant, are bitcoin ponzi schemes where they take in money and buy coin to pay previous debts. It will eventually fall apart.

They don't need to have any reasons for shutting down a bank account, and I could easily imagine LE informing the bank that account # XXXXXXXXXX is dabbling in evil shenanigans

That's true, the coins aren't illegal. But BoA is the same bank that won't let people buy guns or ammo with their credit cards, even though neither are illegal. That is absolutely the worst bank in this country. That being said, I don't think that's it. The BTC crash isn't a good thing when you are running a scheme where new orders are paying off previous orders (explained by them as a wire transfer to Gox gone missing). We have a vendor doing this on SR right now, admits it in his profile and admitted it to me in a message. He can't ship current orders without getting FE on new orders because he doesn't have any product to sell or any money, yet his listings remain up. Also running lotteries but doesn't have the prizes to ship you when you win. He seems like a less than knowledgable vendor that lost his ass selling during the BTC crash. I do think it's good they are trashing their preorder system. Just like vendors here, you should never sell something you don't actually have then start making excuses.

I used BST and loved the service even with the wait involved but with them on hiatus i have gone to localbitcoins.com. Jesus its easy and much faster then anything i have used before. In a matter of seconds from money leaving my hand i had my wallet funded. Who cares about Face to face meetings, you dont have to explain yourself nor give up any personal information. And if you want then just move to a different seller for your next purchase

You don't have to do face to face trades on localbitcoins. I just pick someone and use their escrow system. I have gotten my coins within a minute of depositing to their accounts every time so far. You can also use coinbase, but it has a 4 day wait. The wait is long, but I have not heard of any issues with not getting coins out of them. If BST comes back I guess you could use them since they promise not to take orders for coins they don't have ever again. I'll wait and see before I try them. They ask you to go to BoA to make a deposit with BST. You can do the EXACT same thing on localbitcoins without all this hassle and they have escrow.

And she has the same exact set up as BST. Little more expensive though; Flat rate fee of $50 for anything under $500 and 10% for anything above $500.
I made a deposit at Chase bank literally right before they closed at 5:30PM and I had the coins in my wallet within 3 hours or so :-)

I was in this same situation days ago and needed coins fast desperately to get some subs and avoid getting sick. I finally used the vendor JumboMonkeyBiscuit for his listing on "Buy Bitcoins with REloadit card". The link is not up now but it wasn't when I was ready to buy either. Do like i did and message him and ask when it will be back up. He responded within 6 hours and it was up the following day. I used REloadit even though he offers moneypack and vanilla which are similar and i did so because REloadit he reuires the smallest amount on of 200 dollars. I think you can ask him for smaller amounts but he may say no or charge a higher %. He charges 15% for 200 dollars+.
The process. Add his listing to your cart once you have the card purchased from the store. Provide the reloadit pack# found on the back of the card where you have to scratch it off to get it, the amount of money on the card, plus the zip code it was purchased in, and the bitcoin address you want him to send your coins to.He will then message you back once completed. I added to my cart and sent him the info late Saturday and had a message that night assuring me the card would be cashed out and I'd have my money the next morning which i did . He is fast and very popular so his listings will go up and down frequently as he runs out and restocks coins. Yes you have to put trust in him outside of escrow really and it seems risky but i did and it worked. He has many transactions and tons of positive feedback. I only found 1 negative comment in the forums and a follow up to it which sounded like an error on the part of the buyer. He's trustworthy or i would not recommend. I'm going to use him again in about a week or at least i hope to. You can PM me if you have questions as i do not read the forum a lot. I found no other vendors currently offering this type of service i felt safe doing this with on SR by the way. It's too easy to be scammed as they can just take the card info, cancel your order and rob you while keeping perfect stats. The listing is 0 dollars as it is really an outside of escrow deal. Jumbo is legit though.

make an account...Than click buy Bitcoins on top....in "Change location" put your zip code in and see who is selling close to you...
Some only sell to establish buyers, but many will....I always pick someone with a good history with good transactions and read the reviews.
OK, now you have a vendor you like....click the buy button...you will see a box asking "How much you wish to buy?" add your dollars and the BTC will calculate it self...
then add a message below " like when can you meet"
Now when you hit the "Send trade request" it will lock in the price you wanted.....so you want to make sure you can trade that day or the next....if you wait to long the seller will cancel because you are holding up the money.....YES the money you asked for is locked...and the vendor has to complete the transaction or cancel it.....
you will get a secret # and when you meet up and exchange the money they will complete the transaction and read you the secret #...that means your money is in your account...done!...a no brainer!!!...just meet in a very public place ..i did all my stuff on my phone....
the best part you can send PM to each other through the web site...so no personal info needs to be given...Plus ..ITs NOT ILLEGAL to buy BTCS!!

yeah i think they're done imo. BofA is really putting the squeeze on coin vendors. wells and citi are too. they were a great service, BST. its really a shame but i dont expect them to come back. just my opinion.
I think your right, as a matter of fact I mentioned in this very thread a while back I had a feeling BSTs days were coming to an end soon. It's obvious the powers that be can't crack SR, but they can make it very very difficult to get BTC anonymously , thus making the site less attractive to many.

I've used localbitcoins.com too and had excellent results. You can meet someone in person and get really good deals or pay a few bucks more and find a vendor who will sell via cash in mail, BoA, Wells, Citi, moneygram. It's all escrowed. If you do bank cash deposit it normally takes about 5 minutes + the time it takes you to get to the bank. Super easy. You make a bid at the set price from the vendor of your choosing (they have a feedback and rating system too) and then get an automated message with where to go make the deposit. You make it, come back and log in, mark it paid, message the seller and usually within a few minutes the funds are in your wallet and can be sent wherever you want. It's very easy and the escrow makes it low risk. Much more reliable than bitinstant and more instant that most other vendors.

Although it would *not* be anonymous, Coinbase is now allowing users to link their bank account to buy BTC directly. First transaction takes 4 business days and then after that it's supposed to go within a few hours. Again, this option is not anonymous though so LocalBitcoins will still be the default for my larger transactions.

Yes, I used to love their service and always used them until they stopped trading a while back and recommended them to everybody.
Unfortunately now their site says they go by the MtGox Last Price which is currently around $139 whereas SR's current rate is $130... Really sounds like an expensive way to buy BTC's now :( .

Most are going between mtgox and bitstamp. but i would like to know for sure. i think you get that problem anywhere you get coins.

Evaluating Bitcoin Trades …and Traders
Please use a proper reference when evaluating trades. When you say X amount of bitcoins is worth X amount of dollars, what you are really doing is using *some* system to value those bitcoins. Some folks like to use the Mt Gox "average", which isn't. If you're going to reference Gox and do this accurately, you can use their "Lowest Ask Price", which is the recommended market price at the moment you place a bid, and almost always higher than any quoted "average". This is a demonstrably soft and unreliable figure, but it’s the best we have for this purpose. You don't buy coins on any exchange using their "average price". You can bid at that price, but you'll sit in the queue until the moving price hits your arbitrary "average". Your guess is as good as anyone else’s as to just when that will happen.
The Mt. Gox LAP is what you’d pay if you wanted to bid and have it taken immediately. It’s often soft though, and a bid placed at the LAP will yield a sale of 10 or fewer coins, with the LAP then resetting slightly higher. This is the result from programmed trading, and if you continue to step the bids, you’ll eventually find “firm ground”, where you can acquire larger quantities at a level cost. So, you can see that referencing even the LAP results in a slightly skewed result, but it’s still the best metric available for our purpose.
The deepnet markets accepting bitcoins don't always agree with the major exchanges or even each other on bitcoin value. Look there as well when investigating any perceived loss in equity.

I used BST for a larger transaction the other day. Still the same great communication and nearly instant release of coins. However, it seems they have really bumped up their fees. If my calculations are correct, I paid something like 12%. I can get them on local bitcoins for about half of that %.
Either way, BST still a great, reliable option for coins.

Yikes, I guess I'm in the same boat. I merely made a deposit and reported what % I actually received, which could be due to BST's fees, market rise/fall and anything else I don't know about.
Sorry if you took it the wrong way, your customer service is still #1 in my opinion!
