The bank they use now is Metro, and there's a note on the site saying cash deposits are no longer accepted for Intersango a/c's. Maybe the SR traffic was getting too obvious at Intersango, surely that's where the bulk of their businesss comes from?

That's correct. It's still possible to make cash deposits to MtGox via Barclays. I live in the UK and am going to be setting up a Bitcoin service in exchange for cash in the mail which is more anonymous. Feel free to inbox me for details - going live once my seller account is in order.
