In theory an expert at digital forensics might be able to recover virtual fingerprints left by the Tor Browser to show you may have another browser running on your system but that largely depends on the Operating System you're using. My own set up is to use Ubuntu with an encrypted Home Folder (contains all passwords, keys, user settings etc.), inside of which there's a Truecrypt Partition. Just one word of caution - without using a hidden OS you won't have plausible denial when it comes to encryption so I would suggest you use Truecrypt to encode your new hard drive completely. The program will fill up the free space both with your encrypted data and random "chaff" data and even the most brilliant Computer Scientist wouldn't be able to tell it was encrypted by examining the data alone as many programs for wiping hard drives use a similar technique - only you, with the right password will be able to unlock it - this is only true for extenal drives though - if you encrypt your own computer's drive it will be possible to detect the Truecrypt "bootloader" which is necessary for entering the password. Since you're going to have the programs on a separate hard drive, I would also suggest that in addition to using a password to unlock the drive, have a Key File on your computer itself, which significantly increases your level of protection.Hope this helps,V.
