« on: November 28, 2013, 11:36:07 pm »
Sadly all of the exchanges require some form of ID now, I am not a fan of that either as you never know how they store your information. In regards to sending them to Silk Road, if you use a tumbler it doesn't matter where you buy them from anyway.

LocalBitcoins is the way to go in my opinion as it is much easier, you can do a online bank transfer and LocalBitcoins acts as a escrow or you can go meet someone.

If someone is close to you, I don't see why meeting with someone is all that bad. It's up to you really.

@bishbashbosh,

I successfully decrypted your message.  Well done, comrade!

Seems like you got the hang of it!

Sometimes copying and pasting the PGP Public Key can be a little temperamental, can be annoying at times.

After much looking around for tutorials and guides I'm sad to admit this PGP lark has me baffled. I never set it up during SR1.0 but never needed to as i never contacted anyone for whatever reason. I'm now attempting to get my head around it but I feel like I've run into a wall here. Answers on a post card please.
Thanks

I managed to import it, in my client (GPG4USB) it has a "Remove Spacing" button. I guess the spaces can be a problem.

1930
I'm trying to switch over to a non-local version of Ubuntu for my Darkweb needs, so as to avoid anything on my personal machine, and I'm having some trouble with the PGP. How should I go about making sure my PGP version is secure, and works correctly? (In the past, trying to copy-paste my key into forums/sites causes an error, and I'm unsure as to why)

Sometimes that can happen, if you don't copy and paste it carefully you get a void space down the left side of the key and it doesn't seem to accept the Public Key.

Make sure you put your mouse right next to the first character of the private key and slowly drag it right to the end. I had this trouble and it seemed to fix it for me.

Safest way to accept payment for your Bitcoin would be a bank transfer, the fraud rates are next to nothing with that method.

When you purchase coins on LocalBitcoins.com they go into your "wallet" on the site and then you chose where you want to send them. But you shouldn't send them direct to your Silk Road account you should tumble them first.

They charge a small fee but it's well worth it.
