Customer Support / Re: why can i not give a reply in the forum
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:08:26 pm »
? ;D

You now need 50 posts to enable you to post outside of the "Newbie Discussion". It's to stop people making multiple accounts for the sole purpose of spamming the main forum.

Sadly, I don't think there is much you can do if you don't have PGP to prove you're the account owner.

Off Topic / Re: So I went to buy some coins on LocalBitcoins.....
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:03:35 pm »
I just went to buy some coins on LocalBitcoins and before I made the payment the coins were put in to my wallet. How could this happen? Is it possible that the seller released the coins by accident? or maybe it's a bug on LB. I had literally just placed the order and next thing I know I have the coins.

Any ideas?

That's strange, has the vendor sent you a message?

Security / Re: tut for using bitcoin on SR?
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:00:42 pm »
I've heard bits and pieces of setting up a wallet on tails, btc fog, tumblers, escrow, mt.gox, localbtc, and while I understand what the function of these things are, I don't know how to go about implementing them. I was looking for a tut to help me make sure I did it right... I guess you could say that I'm at the complete beginning, at least on the bitcoin end of things.

Well, first you're going to need to buy Bitcoin. I recommend LocalBitcoins because you're able to do a cash deposit in a local bank branch where the vendor banks with. Once you purchased your coins and the vendor releases them from escrow they will be in your LocalBitcoins wallet. Then you'll need to tumble them into your Silk Road account. Here is the URL for BitcoinFog,

http://fogcore5n3ov3tui.onion (BitcoinFog)

They charge a small fee but it's well worth it, once you have tumbled your coins into your Silk Road account you can then go ahead and place a order on the market. But remember to use PGP encryption when giving the vendor your address so only they can read it.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Newbie Movie Thread!
« on: December 08, 2013, 03:39:07 am »
I've seen an amazing one, it's called The green beautiful or La Belle Verte in original french.
It's about a planet which occupants are similar to humans but advanced for hundred of years, they live in the country and made everything with their mind. Then a woman travels to earth and freaks out with the absurd way the humans works.

Sounds interesting, is the movie in the French language?

ah fuck well i was posting just fine before....is this some new bs?

Yes, it's to make it harder for people to make accounts with the sole purpose of spamming the main forum. You're nearly there anyway, only 11 posts to go.

Hi, so im very confused, i have gpg4usb

it seems normal that you have to run the program everytime you use it, ie as if  you had only just downloaded it?

Secondly, i created a key, but now iv lost it, i thought it wouldve been saved within the software, obviously it isnt?

Third, i have tried to create a new key today, but when i click generate, it says new key created, but nothing appears at all!!!!!! iv tried this numerous times but nothing appears.

Please help its driving me to insanity!

It's because you haven't extracted the file when you downloaded it.

« on: December 08, 2013, 12:54:16 am »
No i just closed the window, i didn't shutdown Vidalia or close the onion in the taskbar. I've just never seen it happen before. Maybe it's just because i usually sign out before closing it.

That's what probably caused it then, just make sure you fully close the program.

Newbie Discussion / Re: passphrase not working, anyway around this?
« on: December 08, 2013, 12:17:47 am »
If you are pasting the PGP message into the client and then it prompts you for a password and it says it's invalid then sadly there is nothing you can do to reset it. You'll have to make another PGP key or try to remember the password.

Newbie Discussion / Re: BMR now hacked too?
« on: December 08, 2013, 12:00:19 am »
BMR has been hacked also? Was it hacked or the BMR operator/owner just took the coin and ran?

BMR had a exploit which allowed someone to withdraw around $200,000 worth of Bitcoin without ever depositing. Backopy decided to close BMR and allow people to withdraw their coins I believe.

You will see the balance in your account after 3 confirmations by the network. It takes 20-30 minutes.
