Customer Support / Re: Super Newbie -- BTC Sent to SR But Not In Account
« on: December 09, 2013, 10:46:02 pm »
SR has been up and down all day.......mostly down...so I can't check anything on SR.

On Blockchain it appears the transaction has been picked up and confirmed.

However......the BTC transaction does not appear in my SR account. It's been 2 days.

Let me know what you think.

But man......its getting ridiculous. I'm only transacting small amounts because I do not trust SR2 yet. There seems to be major issues.

Appreciate your help.

Silk Road is under attack at the moment, but when you are able to access the market send a support ticket explaining the problem you're having and they should be able to help you out,

You'll need to be logged in to send a support message.

Yes.

Just look up the recent drama with green android...  dude (almost?) lost $30K for it.

Yoda, I looked for it but didn't find anything. Do you have more information? I had very good experience with Green Android (my first and second purchase on the new SR); good product and good communication. I would be disappointed if he would be banned. Hope this is some misunderstanding.

I believe Yoda is talking about "Green Machine".

Newbie Discussion / Re: How to view your pgp public key?
« on: December 09, 2013, 10:25:12 pm »
OK, I just downloaded the client you use and found that if you right click your key in the key manager and just select "Copy" then you can just paste your public key.
Ok, it seems that worked. I thought you had to send your key to a server for it to work though?

Would you like to help me test it real quick? I'll pm you my public key so you can use it to encrypt a message, and I'll see if I can decrypt it.

Sure, feel free to PM me your key and I will send you a encrypted message.

In your GPG client, highlight your key in the right hand side list then right click it and select "Append select key(s) to text." then you can just copy and paste your key to wherever you desire.

Guns never killed anyone, no more than a hammer. It is the person who is the killer.

It's not that Silk Road is against firearms, they was once sold on a site owned by Silk Road called "The Armory" which shut down due to it costing more money to run that it actually generated in income. Maybe in the future it will return, but I am sure everyone just wants to see Silk Road fully up and running first with all the kinks ironed out.

As it says really, i am in the market for something explosive and dont have any leads, is there a section here or is that off limits, i understand if it is, i always thought it would attract some pretty high profile grief.

cheers
DSM

Silk Road does not currently allow any type of firearm to be sold.

Off Topic / Re: how to buy bitcoins with credit card?
« on: December 09, 2013, 09:28:18 pm »
how?

There isn't really any place to purchase Bitcoin via a CC, this is due to fraud risks for the vendor. Your best option would be to head over to,

*CLEARNET WARNING*

www.LocalBitcoins.com

Once you made a account you're able to purchase via cash deposit at a local bank branch, it's easy and quick. You will also get a pretty good price on the coins.

Your coins are safe, nothing to worry about.

Customer Support / Re: negative BTC???

I was gonna go crazy and blow my last .054 BTC but it shows me negative 1.154 BTC? How did I spend more than I have according to the system? My deal came and went and im afraid to deposit any more. Please advise.

Nothing to worry about, it's just a bug which shows the incorrect balance.  You won't have any problems depositing as the balances are not permanently changed nor do coins go missing. Here is a post from DPR announcing that he is aware of the problem.

I am aware some users (1%>) are having some issues with depositing or withdrawing their bitcoin, as well as random missing funds which is later re-credited and randomly low account balances. We are aware of the problems and we are looking into it but it is not a high priority issue, funds are not permanently changed or go missing so if this happens please wait a few hours and give the system time to sort itself out as we believe this is the result of expanding our infrastructure and the bitcoin process may be struggling to keep up with all the new deposits and bitcoin activity now that active connections and bitcoin commands have exceeded that of the first market already.

transferring bitcoin from localbitcoin to SR. the funds show then disappear. happened twice so far  (same funds) show then I order, order doesn't work then funds have gone only to come back and same again.

It's a known issue, no need to worry about your coins because it's just a balance glitch and funds are not permanently changed. Here's a post by DPR letting people know about the problem,

Are you sure the transaction was successfully broadcasted into the network? Find the address you sent the coins to and then check at Blockchain to see if the transaction has been picked up and has been confirmed.

You can leave it blank, I didn't use a email when creating my key.
