Customer Support / Re: FE and how it works
« on: January 25, 2014, 02:54:44 am »
I see, well i wont FE, he seems alright, i think i am going to buy it soon. When more reviews come through and also my money. But as long as i never finalized, even though i may not get a refund, at least the scammers wont get my money right?

Correct, if you stay within the escrow system you'll be entitled to a refund if you do not receive your product.

Hello, The Plague

How did you pay the vendor bond? Did you pay via the marketplace?

I've told you to contact support, I'm unable to reset passwords on the marketplace.

There's no need to create 3 threads in the customer support section about the same topic.

I've seen 5 accounts claim to be 'Sugarwand'

hacked, hacked2, Sugarwand, Sugsmate, TheRealSugarwand

I'm going to see if I can get to the bottom of this.

tang is a useless cunt.
ignoring the serious issues, only making useless posts.

I understand you're frustrated about not receiving your deposit and we're aware that there are problems. You will be able to receive assistance once the new support system is rolled out, here's an update from Hux.

Support: The support system has been rolled out already although we haven't patched it up yet to sync with your accounts. Moderators and market staff already have access to this support system and are working through your tickets as we speak, you will receive their responses as soon as the dev team green light the live patch. This means the moment we do go live, every support ticket will be answered and there will be little or no backlog anymore.

I wasn't aware of any problems with pins other than people forgetting them, are you 100% sure you're using the correct pin?

Security / Re: VPNs and Tor

Whom's post which was accidentally removed.

Among the many gifts Edward Snowden bestowed upon the world last year, one of the greatest is that *everyone* now distrusts the government's view of the Internet to some degree or another.    Everyone has a legitimate reason to run Tor, and I know lots of people who use it for browsing.   Tor is getting more mainstream.

I *wish* my ISP would ask me why I'm using Tor.    The simple fact that they're asking tells me that using it was the right call.   But they're not going to.. because they have other shit to do, and your ISP does, too.   Nightcrawler is correct that at the point where someone with a badge is knocking on your door because of your Tor traffic, a VPN wouldn't have saved you.   You have much bigger problems.  That argument is, "Sure, they could  denaonymize my traffic through elaborate analysis of trillions of streams of global traffic using billions of dollars in worldwide network surveillance, but they got stopped once they got to HideMyAss VPN.  Suckers!".   Network analysis of VPN traffic on a worldwide basis should be trivial compared to analysis of Tor traffic.

Jolly Roger laid the one legitimate use of VPN providers out (aside from the obvious corporate/etc applications)..  If you need to do something on clearnet, and it needs to not be coming from an exit node, it makes sense.   In that scenario, probably the best you're gonna do is a bitcoin-funded VPN that you connect to over Tor.   Then they should be blind to both the payment type (assuming that bitcoin trail doesn't lead anywhere) and the source address you're connecting from.  It's gonna be slow.

Everybody acts like using a VPN is somehow less "suspicious".   Yes, lots of corporate workers use VPNs, so that *type* of traffic isn't overly suspicious.  Sorta.. most corporate VPNs are pure IPSEC or SSL VPNs, while many commercial VPN services are using OpenVPN over udp.    But here's a hint.. most corporate workers are not building VPN tunnels to Iceland, Russia, or Moldava.

I'll take "Huh, that's some Tor traffic" over "Who's the guy tunneling gigabytes of UDP traffic to Russia???" any day.

Your deposit will eventually be credited to your account, I apologize for the delay - it shouldn't be too much longer.

Hi Umut,

You'll need to wait for market support to upgrade your account to vendor status, once they've done that you'll be able to list your products for sale.
