im definitely hoping for a more secure site, i highly doubt ill be making any purchases anytime soon. ill just lurk the site for a few months like i did the original and see how things play out.
I cant help but to be super excited like a kid on christmas eve though :)

The level of security on the new site is so far beyond the first one they are incomparable. I was very upset when Silk Road was taken down, now on the eve of the launch of it's replacement I have come to terms with the realization that this was an inevitable and necessary step in the evolutionary process for the birth of SR2.0.

Skepticism and fear are also natural and healthy emotions to be experiencing right now, tomorrow is going to be a good day ;)

Silk Road Discussion / Re: User Registration is Disabled

Wouldn't a proper troll have already made a bunch of smurf accounts for future use over the past month? That'd kind of make any waiting period suggestions or even temp user reg disabled pointless, no?

Clearly you missed yesterdays debacle? today has been a coachella free day and my god it has nice not to have to deal with that guys insane behavior.

On the 2nd Oct the FBI claimed a huge victory in its war on everything, a month later Silk Road 2.0 will be reborn better, much much more secure as testament to the tenacity and determination of this wonderful community of ours.

We will not be down trodden, we will rise again.

Can't wait ;)

And this is why coachella has been permanently banned from these forums and the new market site which is quite an achievement when you think about it to be banned from a place that hasn't even opened yet but there you go.

Legal / Re: Seizure uk

I overlooked where it said it had been two months, as the post above states chances of a CD now are pretty low as they tend to happen within the normal shipping period and they would have attempted to make the delivery and gotten you to sign for it which is one of the most commonly used tactics.

I have heard of CD's for lessor amounts, the truth is there are no hard and fast rules for determining what LE will or won't do in any given situation so you should always assume the worst case scenario.

Chances are you will never find out what happened and nothing will ever happen but at the very least you should consider the address you ordered to as compromised and not order to it again.

Tracking updates are also notoriously unreliable, just because it updated to delivered doesn't necessarily mean it was as it clearly wasn't delivered to you.

At the very least you should consider the address as compromised, better to be  safe than sorry.

Firstly Im pretty sure 2 ounces would be classed as a personal amount. The fuzz surely aint gonna bust your door down for 2...

Im very confident t the most you would get an LL as anyone can send anyone drugs. Ive just posted 2 ounces to David Cameron (WANKER) C/O Downing Street... Does that mean he will get busted ? No.

Who was the seller and what site did you use ?

Sucks your order hasnt yet turned up and double sucks if its been seized but its the ame we all play I'm afraid.

LE could very well follow up on a two ounce international order as that is essentially trafficking given you are importing it. There is some horrible advice in this thread, do not look for confirmation bias here to make yourself feel better, clean house, keep it clean and say nothing if you get a visit.

If you want more advice feel free to PM me.

Off Topic / Re: What happened to freedom of speech on the forums? :(
« on: November 03, 2013, 10:36:16 am »
My last word on this matter and I am out of this thread.

Did anyone else see what just happened? there was a frank, emotive exchange of views on a very controversial subject, CP.

Why was this exchange even possible?

Because we are free to speak our minds here.

No one was promoting CP or anything to do with the harming of innocents, we are having an exchange of views on whether this subject matter should even be allowed here but as I have said multiple times already all of these discussions are the same, we are arguing over a total non issue because everyone agrees CP is wrong, CP is abhorrent, those who harm children are the scum of the earth etc etc.

If there was a single post or thread made on these forums that even so much as promoted CP it would be taken down in an instant but that is not what is happening, everyone is so caught up in the emotion of it all they cannot see all they are arguing about is the right to discuss it just like we are doing right now. Even the posts that are made seemingly promoting CP are for the most part just trolls seeking to whip everyone up into a frenzy of hate so they can sit back and laugh at us for being so stupid, they are playing with us manipulating the community discussion and when it comes to THIS issue it works every single fucking time.

Am I the only one who can see this or have I totally failed to articulate this perspective in a logical fashion?

I'm done, 6 hours of coachella earlier today and now this has done me in.

JWM, no one forced anyone to do anything, we all have our own personal views and beliefs but it is not a moderators role to exert their own onto the community. These forums have some rules, they are no secret and if anyone has a serious problem with them then they are free to exercise their right not to participate in discussion here.

No one is downplaying, diminishing, condoning or doing anything for that matter that even remotely infers that CP or pedophilia is anything but abhorrent, there I shared my own personal view but I will vigorously defend the right to come on here and discuss it if it is done in a mature and adult way.

I understand this issue robs most people of the ability to think with their brain and not with their emotions but this is a fundamental principle of this forum, free speech will not be censored because the subject matter is difficult to contend with.

Today it is CP, tomorrow it might be racist rants like these forums are awash with at the moment, it is a slippery slope.

If you do not like it then do not read it and stop being so precious, I think everyone here has more than grasped your intensity of anger on this issue.

I would invite you to make a mental shift and see you are combining two issues into one, the right to speak freely does not constitute support for a subject, it is the principle that is being promoted NOT THE SUBJECT MATTER.

^^^ This

There is nothing wrong with admitting you were misinformed either and thanking those who have taken the time to share their knowledge on a subject.

We are all learning all the time and we should embrace the altruism that I am very proud to see engendered by this community.

Have to empty my sheep wallet, I'm locked and loaded, giddy up.

I would not be leaving my coins in any of the other market site wallets if I were you, especially given all the misgivings about SMP and the recent BMR debacle where all the code got dumped, analyzed and determined to be very poorly coded (sorry BMR but it's true) I would be using a much more safe arrangement.

Not long to wait now everyone ;)

Excited much?

will it be exact same interface/design as previous SR?

All I can tell you is it will have the same look and feel but the rest you will just have to wait and see for yourself ;)

Hmm, I'm wondering what that means... sounds like something good! :)

It is good, VERY good ;)
