Off Topic / Re: Censorship on forums. Watch for disappearing threads.
« on: November 23, 2013, 09:19:07 pm »
Given the nature and content of many of the discussions on these forums do you really think a thread expressing concern about the two factor authorization or any of the other things you mentioned would be considered as so controversial a mod or an admin has tried to silence you?

Please stop spreading FUD.

Am wondering if my PM made it.
I am an original SR vendor looking for verification. I have PM all three mods with the old forum pgp and a signature to no avail.
Any ideas.
Thanks and Peace!
WM

Hi Weedmaster101

I forwarded your PM to Sarge as they are responsible for verifications. There is a process to follow for verifications, please ensure you have followed it, here is the link:

They can't block you from their forums, if they could do that then thy would be able to identify you and that would be very bad. Tor changes your IP and you should not have cookies enabled anyway.

Gotta get feedback enabled I think people might be starting to get scared off.

There are a number of key features that need to come on line ASAP and feedback is def one of them. The dev team are working on it.

Cause we give him attention.

He feeds on that, if no one ever posted in any of his threads it would help alot.

I think knuckles is right, it's an attention thing but unfortunately he is impossible to ignore made worse by the notoriety he has now achieved.

Sales are actually very healthy, we've had almost 2,000 finalized sales already and many many more in transit.

Anyone remember the moderator/vendor Limetless? just out of curiosity anyone remember why he left or what happend? He had one of the highest forum post counts and was always on here.

He dropped off the radar after having an OD experience apparently, not sure what happened to him after that.

Silk Road Discussion / Re: What do you think about lotteries?
« on: November 22, 2013, 10:01:07 pm »
They're also a scam to get positive feedback numbers up quick so they look like legit sellers if someone doesnt check the actual transactions. Another scam I've noticed on a similiar site is Vendors selling cheap online products like .pdf's or just dirt cheap and tiny amounts of drugs, building up good feedback numbers then start listing Large quantities of drugs at cheap prices with FE only. Always thoroughly check reviews and feedback.

I agree with this. I can remember a seller on the old SR, his name is escaping me, that sold 1+ounce listings of coke out of South America. When he started a few landed, a few didn't. He blamed it on customs. His rating dropped to about a 75 and then all of a sudden he decides to hold a 1/4 ounce lottery and 1/8 ounce lottery. After about a week that 75 shot back up to a 96 all because of lottery listings. He then proceeded to FE scam thousands of dollars before he went dark.

With that said, it is no one's choice but your own to play a lottery game.

You mean WhiteDreams, perfect example of a vendor using a lottery to pad feedback and cheat the FE rule for scamming purposes.

No one is degrading the Sheep but their framework and infrastructure is some common knowledge & server info is available to a prying eye

We sell there and shit it's got 3 to 4X customer base to SR2 blows away the bare bone SR2 product hierarchy for easy browsing.

Synergy's just doing his job promoting SR2 - no big deal

I am actually issuing a legitimate warning based upon credible information to the SR community, SR2 can promote itself and needs no help from me.

If you have information to share please share it. If you know something that we do not know that could potentially save people from being scammed, it would be very kind of you to "let us in on it".

Have you read all my posts in this thread DanDan? I have said all I can which is enough for people to stay reasonably safe provided they use encryption and do not leave large sums of btc in their wallet which is something everyone should be doing anyway.

Yes I have read them all which is why I was a little confused. You seem to indicate you have inside information on sheep potentially scamming people in the near future. If you do know something but do not wish to share, it would lead a reasonable community member such as myself to conclude you are hiding something. And it would also seem the only reason someone would do that would be to protect SMP. If I read into that wrong I apologize, but that is what it looks like from my point of view.

Where have I said anything whatsoever about sheep scamming now or in the future?

I have said effectively the following:

> SMP is insecure
> SMP has no server end security
> To protect yourself you should encrypt all communications and not leave btc in your wallet

Is that clear enough?

If you do not want to take my word for it as I would hope you wouldn't anyway go and do some digging of your own, if you know anyone who knows their stuff when it comes to hacking/programming ask them to take a look at the SMP platform and see what they have to say.

That's as far as I will be drawn on this issue, my intentions here are to protect others. I am not saying do not use sheep, I am saying use it safely the same as any market site including this one.

I have said it many times before but you will never receive an unsolicited message asking for bitcoin that isn't a scam.
