Title: MoneyPak to BTC
Post by: SuperDimitri on December 20, 2011, 02:46 am
So, I choose a vendor based on SPEEDINESS. Most feedbacks mention they got their BTC in mere minutes. Even seen some new FB appear, whilst I am STILL waiting on mine. Meanwhile, BTC has jumped from 3.38usd, to 3.71. Approx 6 hours has passed, and just more and more people have let feedback.
Is it OK etiquette to just send the MP codes to another vendor,in hopes of getting my BTC faster? I can't "cancel" my current order for 4 days, but I feel like they are just waiting for the price to go up and up.
What is considered "fast" turnaround for this style transaction? When I read 10 mins, 5 mins, 10, 5, over and over, then 6 hours lapses for me, I get noid.

Really depends on WHOM you chose to get ur btc from if u read up on the forums ... currently the only MP to btc vendors that are trusted by most is sugar Momma and, possible BTC PAL... Who did u go with? and did u send the MP code before getting a response from the vendor?

also dont worry about prices of BTC, but do make sure that the Vendor gives u the right amount accordingly, because althought prices per BTC go up orders are usually hedged to meet the prices so u will get less btc but  the price of the item u want will go down.. (will meet the current price so that ur always paying the same amount for the product)

another thing is that anytime u decide to go MP to btc.. u take a huge risk.. as alot of these Vendors decide to go scammer within days.. as soon as they are able to get a high payout they will go scammer.. meaning they will take all ur MP code and never send u the coins... but nonetheless its always easiest and safest to go with a reputable exchance such as MT.gox.. trust me its worth it in the long run.. ive been scammed by SumYunGai, Peopleb4Profits, and DigitalExpress all Reputable MP to BTC vendors.. that went scammer

In the future you should always check reviews in the forum and make sure that long-standing members have confirmed the validity of a seller.

You should also consider that the vendors are real people and have real lives so don't be too quick to judge.

If you absolutely feel the need to use the moneypak with another seller, at least PM the original person and let them know.

All very good points (fromallposts). I did check some forums, and went with a 'reputable' seller. the whole going scammer thing doesn't help my noia. Maybe it's also because I am new and  unknown? Easy to scam. But I want to go with your most human one, and maybe they don't sit on the comp all day.

I know it's notsuch a big deal, but as I write this, the BTC has gone up to $3.94usd, my concern is that it's picking back up in popularity, and if it goes over what the vendor marked as their cost, won't they just give me less BTC, and tell me too bad? As for hedging, is it auto? If I place an order for a certain amount, hedging will keep it at that purchase price? It just seems too wallystreet to make it that easy. If said vendor gets my order, say, another 12 hours from now, and the BTC has gone up to some of it's high's, I understand, essentially, IF I am looking to purchase something, that may remain the same....but if I am investing, I just lost, when I should have won. Right?

So, I went and checked said vendors page again, and they raised their rate .50usd from when I sent payment, but still didn't process my order. BTC is now valued @ $4.14,and on the verge of surpassing the rate that was quoted when I sent payment. does hedging protect me from that loss?

Turns out I may have jumped the gun. Vendor came through, although at a hire rate than when I placed the order. It's cool, though, seems BTC is on the rise, again. Wish I had more USD to invest.
I didn't name the vendor earlier, as I didn't want to make accusations on short notice, and I am glad I didn't.  Good vendor.

I see people recommend BTCpal and Sugar Mama, but BTC Buddy is out there too...why doesn't anyone mention him in these thread?
