A link to an .onion website that I don't recognize by a one post account? The paranoia that's been instilled in me by Silk Road has taught me not to click that link. Sorry.

Hi madamebradley,

Sorry about that, maybe I should have prefaced my post with a brief introduction.

I'm StandardToaster, and have been lurking around SR for about a week. Site seems cool. Today, SWIM almost went to the store to get a Moneypak, which SWIM was going to sell to someone he had read about with a really great reputation... namely, SumYunGai.

Needless to say, now SWIM is reconsidering what he takes for granted about the anonymous black market. The reason I posted this is that SWIM found another site that he almost made a transaction with. The link is to a site which another well-known site lists as "Trees by Mail Beta: Marijuana from Northern California (Bitcoin)".

SR is currently the best source of knowledge and has the best system of checks-and-balances. This is why SWIM wanted to share this information, because he thought other people might be or have been in this situation. The whole premise of the site sort of strikes SWIM as a genius scammer's plot. The product's pricing is tiered very sharply automatically, so as to invite the buyer to scale up. The prices seem almost too good to be true, but the product is described as "grown outdoor", so maybe it's just not top-quality. There are pictures of the product that are dated, all wrapped in a page with a very "modern webapp" feel and is overall just very meme-y. SWIM just gets a weird feeling from it. Could be wrong though...

tl;dr hi, new to the site, don't wanna get scammed, anyone used trees by mail beta?

Thought I'd let you know that SWIM is not a valid legal defense.

Never used the service.

I was going to put it much less eloquently. "Cut out that SWIM shit. We all know who you're talking about."

Do not bother with any of the random .onion addresses on the hiddenwiki, they are almost all scams. Also you shouldn't buy off any vendor that does not have clear good feedback which is easily accessible. www.safeorscam.com is a useful resource

Seriously though, you're on SilkRoad. You have found the holy grail! Buy some bitcoins off a reputable clearnet exchanger, send them to your SR account (through a proxy bitcoin wallet if you're that paranoid) and buy your weed in escrow from a seller with a good rating. Its not that hard and there's a 90%+ chance you will receive your product (up from like 10%)

Also do not use SWIM, it makes posts irritating to read, and people will give you a lot of shit
