Title: BTCPAL is a scammer
Post by: b0lixtrader on December 09, 2011, 04:47 pm
A few days ago I made a topic mentioning that one of three MP to BTC exchangers had scammed me of my money.  I found out that it was BTCPAL.  Soon after I was scammed I started talking to BTCPAL through messages and he somehow knew I got my moneycard at walgreens, but at that moment that skipped my mind.

A couple days later it popped back up in my head again and I asked him how he knew I got my card at walgreens.  Then he continued to explain that he can find out by trying to take the money out of the moneypak, but I asked why he would try to take the money out when he didn't have any BTC's to give me. Now he is not responding back to me.

187 dollars gone.

These moneypak to BTC tranactions are pretty dodgy at best (search Sumyungai). Why don't you sign up with a BTC exchange like Mt.Gox they are fast and 100% reliable. If you feel as if your moneypak was stolen you can report it to moneypak. Look into it.

Tradehill is good, too.

i tried buying btc from him but turned away the second he asked for my moneypak number before he marked it in transit and then cancelled when i would not provide it. ALWAYS wait till it is marked in transit whenever dealing with these exhange services because then you can comment. if not they can simply cancel order and take your shit. i have not been scammed by btcpal but i would be carefull with any of the exchange services and if your that desperate wait till after they mark it in transit

BTCPal is absolutely NOT a scammer.  He had the perfect opportunity to fuck me over for $300 today if he had chosen to, but instead he gave me an even better exchange rate than he advertised.  If only more people on SR were as honest as him...

Was quick (<2hours) and honest with me for my first MP for BTC exchange today.

I second this, I was skeptical by going through him at first because my usual guy (BTCBuddy) was out and then I tried to use Missit (this is a whole different story), he didn't steal my money but he sure as hell made it a creepy transaction by misquoting me and trying to give me less BTC than what I was paying for. When I brought this up he was just like "OH YEAH, sorry about that...I didn't take your money yet though if you wanna wait till the price goes down or use another vendor".

ANYWAYS, I quickly withdrew the MP back into my account and got another one with a larger amount ($440.00). It took him a while to process my order, but I knew he was around and was steady working towards me because I could see new reviews popping up about him.

Point of the story is that he could have got me for $440.00 and didn't. He delivered what I was expecting and within a reasonable time. I'm not saying he might not be a selective scammer, but the chances are very small. I would personally go through him again.

This guy is out of his mind.
I use the 800 number to redeem moneypak cards in exchange for bitcoins.  ANYONE can verify this, but if you have a moneypak card, and IF it's purchased at Walgreens, and IF it's been less than 1 hour since the card was actually purchased, the recording will TELL YOU THAT THE CARD WAS PURCHASED AT WALGREENS AND THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE REDEEMING THE CARD!  I told this guy that exact information and he didn't understand - so I told him AGAIN and now he tries to not only twist things around and pretend like it was a "bad thing" that I knew the card was from Walgreens??  All you have to do is READ and you will understand.
Now this guy is really a bad liar, and he has tried so VERY hard to discredit me, it's pathetic.
First of all, I never took a penny from him, and I wouldn't take a penny from anyone.
And I DID have coin when he sent me his moneypak, so that is his first lie.  The 2nd lie is that he doesn't understand how I knew that he bought his card at Walgreens.  The 3rd lie is that I took his money.  I did NOT.
I called the 800 number the first time, could not redeem the card.   I waited about another hour after that, and someone had already emptied the card!  I then asked him (I had no way of knowing this) if he had sent the cards out to any other vendors, and he replied to me that he HAD in fact, sent the card to TWO OTHER VENDORS besides me, before I got the card!   And he also said the other vendors he sent the card to, told him they had no coin!  And I DID reply to him, in fact I have replied to him over SEVEN TIMES and he has the nerve to accuse me a WEEK AFTER another vendor stole his money, and not only that, but everything he says is a LIE!
And I have asked him AT LEAST THREE TIMES if one of the other vendors was SumYunGai, (who is a known theif) and he has refused to even acknowledge the question.  he just won't answer me - that pretty much gives me the answer right there.
And furthermore, when "b0lixtrader" came back after an entire week had passed and also after I had emailed him several times with offers to help him find out who did this, he had the NERVE TO TRY AND BLACKMAIL ME!  He basically said that if handed over his money, he would not leave any bad feedback and would not mention it on the boards!  I didn't have to think about this at all, since I will NOT be blackmailed!  The honest truth is, I offered to help him, responded to every email he ever wrote me (I have proof, still in my inbox and sent files), if anyone is interested, I can prove it.
Also, this liar is the only person who has ever said anything negative about me.  I literally have customers who come to me, time and time again, and always get fast and honest trades from me.  I wouldn't have it any other way.
I have 99% positive feedback and I am rated #49 out of 216 sellers.
If it wasn't for this dirt bag, I would probably be in the top TEN, and I DID have 100% positive feedback until this poor excuse for a customer came along.
Also, if anyone is interested, I am running a FIVE PERCENT special for new customers, Dec 30-31, which is unbeatable!

I have used BTCpal's services on three separate occasions and each transaction has been perfect. I cannot comment on what happened regarding the OP, only on my experiences. But I will continue doing business with him.

i rarely do moneypak unless i have to and just used BTCPal the other day.  he accepted my moneypak which was slightly under minimum and gave me an amazing deal.  he was on and off silk rd at the time but answered all my PMs and reassured me and about 15 min after he got back it went through.  definately no scammer he had like six chances to if he wanted.  and he answered my pms like 5-10 mins after they went out.  always the first person i go to when he's good on btc..
just helping to lay down the facts hehe...

*destiny*

As I understand this bizarre post - you sent your code out to 3 seperate vendors, none of them gave you any coins and you have now decided that it was BTCPal that scammed you - this being based on the fact that he knew you bought your card at Walgreens.  How do you respond to his reply - he seems rather convincing and he does have a lot of seemingly satisfied customers.

just wanted to say that i had a very good experience with BTCPal.  He's honest, upfront, and makes every effort to make transactions as swift and painless as possible for both parties.  would gladly do business with him again.

b0lixtrader, you ignorance is too obvious...  BTCPAL has always done perfect exchanges with me and everyone else for that matter.  This post will do nothing to his reputation.

BTCpal is certainly not a scammer.. He just did a transaction for me in a (smaller amount of ) BTC for my first bitcoins, and everything went just fine.. no hiccups at all.. Not sure why you would think he is a scammer because he certainly isn't..

I recently made another successful transaction through BTCPal, He ran out of coins earlier in the day, but made sure I still got them in the end. This guy is legit, don't mind the haters.

just throwing down more feedback for him since this got bumped

I had been waiting roughly a week for BTC vendors to get the amount I had on a MP card and BTCpal was the only person to come through. I got a better deal than expected AND he offered to give me a free trade on my next purchase because he had a few issues come up that prevented him from getting me the btc on time. he had over 2 days to take my card without paying me and he didn't.

BTCPal is the best exchanger on SR. I've gone through him dozens of times, and he's always the QUICKEST and most reliable. Great communication and great service. The OP is a joke.

-Long time BTCPal customer.

PS: WHERE ARE YOU BTCPAL? I need an exchange right now but I don't see any of your listings!!

Had a very smooth & speedy transaction with BTCPal about a week ago, from my experience he's everything a BTC vendor should be.

Good communication, very quick on converting MP to BTC, and....well....those are really the only 2 things a BTC vendor should be.
