In the UK ours cost 1,500 (~$2,250) although given it is an industrial chamber vacuum sealer. What use could you possibly get out of a commercial vacuum sealer for the purposes we use?I bought mine at the local supermarket. I'm about to buy a impulse sealer off amazon. The "seal" button takes about 10 seconds to heat seal the bag. Considering I have to seal and cut the bag about 3 or 4 times to get it small enough that I like it, its a huge waste of time.It does the packaging quicker and the bags we used are extremely thick so a hair straightener won't cut it and some shelf vacuum sealers just aren't built to be used for several hours continuously. The vaccuming of the bag also ensures it is as flat as can be and any other air contaminants are removed. It's also got a built in dispense function so if I load powder into it, it will automatically put it into the bag, then vacuum the chamber, heat seal the edge and drop the package into a bin.
