If you want something short term, ambien might work, it did for me when I really needed to get a good nights rest. I use modafinil as soon as I wake up in the morning so I'm alert throughout the day which usually powers me down towards the end of the day too so has a knock-on effect. Good exercise, discipline, regular times going to bed and removing electrical fields away from your head (ie, phones, iPads etc) can also help a lot.Some friends have also used GHB to help them ease into sleep but it's only good for getting you to sleep and doesn't solve much if you keep waking up as you'll need to redose in the night which isn't a good idea given the dose-response curve of GHB so best ask an expert like BlueGiraffe before following my advice on that.
