Title: CAUTION: POSSIBLE SILKROAD FORUMS EXPLOIT IN PROGRESS
Post by: StExo on October 05, 2013, 05:40 am
I am starting to detect some very unusual browser activity on my browser which has javascript enabled, but the one in a seperate VM which has javascript disabled is not having issues, nor is the javascript enabled browser when I am logged out. This is unusual but for now everyone TURN OFF YOUR JAVASCRIPT. I'd also recommend using VM's if you don't already do so for people who may be targets for LE, a VM bundle I'd recommend is using Whonix with virtualbox as that seems the best choice right now.

If anyone else spots anything out of place let me know, I can't confirm this is an exploit but something has changed on the forum in the last few minutes and with DPR gone, there is no explanation of why that should of happened since staff do not have backend access.

Thanks for the heads up StExo - everyone should have their javascript disabled on their browser.  You can't be too safe right now.

Thank you again, StExo.

I don't know about anyone else, but I consider the password I use to log on here to be burned. Remember, forum and market password should always be different. Do not use your SR forum or market password on any other sites.

Peace,

Sugarleaf

Ever since that last huge exploit I've had java disabled. TBB makes it nice and easy with NoScript, and found some other nice tips in the security sub forum.

There's one bug at this time: intermittently while I'm browsing the SR forum (javascript off), the page gets redirected to the silkroadvb5piz3r.onion url and it gives an error message.

i noticed about a week or so ago that the long thin yellow notification that appeared every time i loaded a page that told me i had scripts turned off or whatever, no longer appears. i'm not sure how long this has been happening tho. at first i thought i had forgotten to turn off scripts when i last updated my tbb, but when i checked i had them turned off. so any ideas what the fuck is going on here?

probably something simple but over my head i'm sure.
