Did any of you guys read the warrant request, there was no "original" DPR, it was a made up story. They busted DPR from a post made on the clearnet with his gmail address on it from the first few days The Road was in operation, asking people if they had heard about the place.

They backtracked posts from 2011 to an email address. The busted DPR is the original DPR by the Forbes timeline or there is only one DPR.

I'm aware of the reports, I've read them all already. I am not talking to the DPR LE has in custody, nor the alleged DPR he said he bought the site from so don't think I am being ignorant here.

Don't post your torchats. Torchat sets up a hidden service and can be deanonymised as demonstrated by several new attacks in recent months by researchers. I will put my backups online as soon as I can.

Well the dream is over and the nightmare begins!

This is a sad day but if you look at everything from his Facebook rants to his SR deliveries it is clearly obvious how they caught him. He was using the same email address for two separate accounts on Bitcointalk that happened to mention SR, and searching for someone to be paid in Bitcoins to do work for him means they had him from there.

Here we thought all this time this guy had our interests at heart when clearly he was more concerned with making money as many of us suspected but could never prove. Well the cat's out of the bag now isn't it? Where do we go from here is the question? We here at GS do not feel it is safe to vend any longer and found it bitterly ironic that the very day we run out of stock and were going into Stealth Mode, the very time I logged in to change over, it came up with first a Silk Road closed message followed an hour later with the govt abomination that ended the life of Silk Road forever.

The fact he tried to have someone killed and the murder was carried out is disturbing enough because to me the fact is that guy was offering him a bargain to patch the exploit and not reveal what he knew should have been seized, and instead he chose to be a cheap idiot and have someone kill him instead.

That shit to do with the murder, along with the flaws in security that were his fault that led to a guy finding out things he shouldn't have been able to in the first place, ending in death by DPR when it was ultimately his fault, is just a purely sad thing to find out to put it mildly.

We will miss all the times we have had, the excitement of getting that delivery you have been waiting on, new friends made and finally the brief few weeks we decided to help out with what we could obtain will go down in our lives as surely something to be remembered.

To the original DPR, you are a legend Sir and you were smarter than this guy who instead of killing him when he found your exploit decided to bring him in, use him, get his money and made if into the sunset shows clearly you saw the danger of working with this guy. Assuming of course that was a true story he told Forbes that we here believe it was.

For us here at GS that is what we will remember as DPR, the original is always the best, you will live on in our hearts while Ross finds his life is over and he will have a long time to think about his actions no doubt.

We have to get up for work in a few hours... our real work... so this is the end of the Road, no pun intended!

The world will be a lesser place without Silk Road and it was special while it lasted.

RIP SILK ROAD, WE LOVE YOU ALL AND WILL MISS YOU AND DPR WAS A FATHER AND A MOTHER TO ALL OF US AND PAID THE PRICE FOR BRINGING US FREEDOM WE HAVE NEVER KNOWN... FOR A WHILE! :( :'(

This is Gangnam Style forever signing off...

Don't post your torchats. Torchat sets up a hidden service and can be deanonymised as demonstrated by several new attacks in recent months by researchers. I will put my backups online as soon as I can.

only online for 1 hours at most at a time..

also behind VPN and prepaid internet stick..

no worries there :)

any better alternative to keep in touch?  jabber over TOR?

Also, can someone explain to me why the forum is still up? I mean, wasn't LE supposed to take it down too?

We will be completely restructuring and move to all alternate places within 2 weeks.

We already secured the accounts long ago ( to keep scammers away)

So  ..yes  ;D

2 things -          We already secured the accounts long ago ( to keep scammers away)
Does this mean we didn't lose our coins?

And I have no idea what my back-up wallet was anymore.  Is sending our coins there the first thing you guys would really do?

Go on Bungee, did the same when I made this account, on all the sites I could, to prevent us/me fighting to prove our own identity :)

To all my peeps, I will post an update later on in the end day.

And I swear I even knew DPR lived in fucking San Fransisco. Where else would DPR live? He logs in by PST USA, I had a psychological profile worked up on him.

I never noticed that; I always thought it was UTC (probably because everything else here is -- good eye)

It has been said that the forum URL also displayed the seizure notice earlier today, then came back up. There is a good possibility that the forums are now under fed control.

All right, you and bungee and then my LSD guy. I'm straight. Also, I know it won't make much of a difference, but if you have a btc address, I can shoot you the money I owe you for a half gram once I get it. I actually thought about FE'ing early today, but wasn't sure if you liked it when people FE. I'll check back here later tonight. If I miss you, I'll just hit you up on one of the other markets when I get a chance, but you have my word on getting the btc from me :)

I need to find some other vendors too. I have like 400 euros in escrow.

Stand up move. I'd kill to hear that right now.. Every last item in my inventory has been sent out, thousands in escrow to be finalized, and I didn't get a dime..

To everyone saying there was no "original" DPR. I am aware of what articles you have read, I am not reaching out to the person currently in custody so please don't clutter my mailbox about it, I know what I am doing and so does who I am trying to contact. There is more than 1 person with interests tied to SilkRoad and DPR.

Mistakes will be learned from.  He must have always had this in the back of his mind but didn't want to undo all his hard work and start over.  Can't imagine he could have such basic oversight otherwise.  His description of the sales commission formula and the way he spoke.  Didn't try and disguise his style/ background too much.

Were his messages not pgp encrypted through SR?

His PMs to me were never encrypted for ages until I finally refused to respond to plaintext messages, then he encrypted most of them from that point forward
