now that I have learned the secret world of PGP, where should I list it so SR vendors can see/use it?
;D
just a guy trying to get by 8)

Unless your a vendor, ya don't need to publicly list it. Just send it to a vendor if you need him to send YOU an encrypted message. It's more important that you have his key so you can send your name/address to him encrypted.

they dont need it, however u need theirs when u send ur information
-
Would you guys suggest using a PGP in all transactions?
-
May be an idea to add this onto my current project.... Hmmm....

thanks for the replies... :)
When I place an order with a vendor, how will he send a message to me, or does the shopping cart ask for my public key at ordering.
Say the vendor wants to send a message, would he ask for it or?
I am trying to get all this right, so there are no problems when I place my orders ;D ;D
I got my BTC ordered from (CoinBase), I was bummed when they said I won't receive them until Wed June 12
6 days to wait >:(
:)thanks for all the support I find here on the forum :)

The vendor only needs your key if he needs to send you an encrypted message. The most important thing to encrypt is YOUR shipping info, ..name, addy, etc, and to do that you need his public key, he don't need yours. If you do need to get him yours, you can just PM it to him.

I include my key in all outgoing messages to vendors
***NOTE***
do not put your key in the encrypted message which contians sensitive info
your key should appear outside of any encrypted info you send, for example
**emcrypted address to vendor**
___then list your key

I'll just chime in since it seems like you are still confused. Generally we don't encrypt most of our conversations. We (should) ALWAYS encrypt any personal info. The other conversations can't harm us unless they connect it to you personally. Also vendors don't want to deal with encrypting/unencrypting non-sensitive information because it is time consuming.
So if want to ask a question about the product it doesn't need to be encrypted. It is already public knowledge that "VendorJohn" sells this product.
You are ready to order and send the vendor your address. This NEEDS to be encrypted. This insures no one but the vendor can read your message.

thanks for the info... ;D
