Title: Forum changing my PGP layout
Post by: StExo on May 23, 2013, 10:12 am
In messages on the forum, whenever I type out an encrypted message, it always seems to alter the structure of it. So for example, I write it out and encrypt it and when I paste it in the message box, the top looks like this:

-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----
Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (MingW32)

hQIMA5lRxmwQ4qnwAQ/9EAPlJHGGfgnA3lEZByWiGi1c28PSUU4nTyoXD4FmPYHf
ydH9ECproFkJTo++dnBQGM41b275gcLhzFdwVnuBYa4n4hgEY3zwqUufXadS2gdB
uLnRLmBB2FnO+CfdcncUW7lvM1w14sMH5Gu6aCLrXXksPsGrGVluygu0x6F6i8iB
b3QzL3EiJo4wQITOxROVpt7tXAl2F+6yL7kwNsaO3Ekg6KJYJOwVmxBMbs/tIqJ6

So I think all is well and good. So then I go to send it and after it has sent, it looks like this:

-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (MingW32)

hQIMA5lRxmwQ4qnwAQ/9EAPlJHGGfgnA3lEZByWiGi1c28PSUU4nTyoXD4FmPYHf
ydH9ECproFkJTo++dnBQGM41b275gcLhzFdwVnuBYa4n4hgEY3zwqUufXadS2gdB
uLnRLmBB2FnO+CfdcncUW7lvM1w14sMH5Gu6aCLrXXksPsGrGVluygu0x6F6i8iB
b3QzL3EiJo4wQITOxROVpt7tXAl2F+6yL7kwNsaO3Ekg6KJYJOwVmxBMbs/tIqJ6

And really screws up the message for people, especially ones who are still trying to get used to PGP and that happens when I don't notice to explain to them how to fix it since there is nothing I can do. It doesn't happen anywhere else but the forum messages oddly and it doesn't matter who's key I encrypt it to, it always turns out like that.

I just noticed this myself today, StExo; unfortunately I think it's a SMF issue and not something that can be resolved on our end. Perhaps consider posting the PGP Key to a pastebin for the time being? I know this is only happening recently and I think it only happens with relatively long PGP Keys.
