Excellent IDEA.

Now this will get us going totally

Arbitrary person fiat A to fiat B transfer, no international aspect, "below the radar" in both source and destination country.

If I'm grasping the concept of this, it's brilliant, but I don't understand how it's technically feasible at all and could possibly be open to scams right? I guess everything is but it is an extremely good idea from my understanding, just needs to be looked at somebody with a more detailed knowledge base from which to assess it.

I imagine the governments and FATF are going to go haywire on this however so be prepared for a shit-storm of propaganda and attempted regulation if it works.

If you think it is brilliant then you are grasping it  8)

Against SCAM we have WoT & Smart contracts..scam will happen...but not if you do  the same as here..

research ..not being gullible..trade with proven track records.

Guberments are to late ...now it is really to late...even direct war wont help them...we gonna get their ilk on our side faster than they can ask themselves
"Am I corrupt bastard and can I my loyalty be  bought " ?

Can somebody tell me how long messages take to populate through the network?

Also when will the dev finally make the app self encrypting? :)

For propogation times, you can find their post on it here: https://bitmessage.org/wiki/PyBitmessage_Help

Quote

On an average computer, different processes take different amounts of time.

Action    Time required
Sender generate a public key request    2 minutes
public key request propagate through the network to the receiver    10 seconds
Receiver reply to the first public key request they receive    2 minutes
Receiver reply to subsequent public key requests they receive    5 seconds
Sender do work necessary to send message    4 minutes
message (or acknowledgement data) propagate through the network    10 seconds

NB: Me and Bungee are currently bouncing a few messages between each other and they seem to arrive very quickly, I get an acknowledgement within maybe a minute or so. May throw my address in my signature soon and test it out.

For now, I think we can agree to still use PGP for anything sensitive to be sure, BitMessage hasn't had a full audit yet so can't be too careful as for all we know it could have flaws.

BitMessage doesn't have good enough of a specification for a proper Audit, even the code is apparently changing very rapidly. I started a thread on their forum addressing some concerns I have with it, apparently some of my concerns are not issues because of unspecified behavior protecting from them though.
