I do have my doubts about PingIt, while it is a very convenient service for many, and I hope it stays around for while, they're using Barclays bank, Mtgox used Barclays bank as well. There is a good chance BTC-E is going to go down too, but I believe they don't deal with £ sterling (they deal with euros and dollars).

The good news is there will always be a way to acquire BTC, you've just got to hunt out the options :)

Thanks. Just checked em out.

It's an option for sure, but 300 euro minimum deposit? The're 'avin a larf.

Not sure the wife would approve of a £250 brick of hash smackin' onto the doormat.

Oh dear, sorry to be a breaker of bad news, just checked out PingIt, they used to have a £250 max deposit a week, but now:

Source (clearwebalert) https://blockchain.info/wallet/deposit-pingit
Is there a maximum deposit limit?
Yes, users are strictly limited to deposits of £10 per week. Any attempts to circumvent this will be result in a permanent ban from future deposits.
Is there a minimum deposit limit?
The minimum deposit that can be made is £10.

£10 a week? Say it's not a typo! If it's not, another one bites the dust  :(

Just to add: PingIt have also increased their commission from 0.97% to 5.97%  :o

Send meh some  :-* :-* Pretty please.....

I really want to offer a bitcoin for cash in the mail service, but given I also will be operating large amounts of cannabis and cannabis grow operations, it's waayyyy too risky for me unless I just make another vendor account and don't associate them so I appear as separate individuals (StExo has a thoughtful moment....)

Alrighty then StExo, you have incoming mail too  :)

Governments and banks are terrified of losing control of the flow of money. The BTC concept must scare them shitless. Much is made of the use of BTC in money laundering and sale of illegal items but make no mistake, it's not that that's driving them to close down all the BTC operations, it;s the risk of BTC becoming a rival system for their own finance and credit structures.

...and I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist. I believe that Princess Diana was involved in an unfortunate RTA, Al Qaeda were responsible for 9/11, Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK and Elvis is fuckin' dead as a twat.

Talking of Vladimir, there is a guy posting on [Clear Web] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114924.0 who's says: " |Talk directly to me or Bitcoin Magazine. We sell a few bitcoins from time to time for GBP"
Could he be so blatant as to be on this site in the same name offering the same service!

Just to let everyone know PingIt's £10 restriction has ceased, it's returned to it's initial £250 weekly deposit limit  :) Their commission still remains at 5.97%.
