Sounds a bit like sociopathy, to me. There's no real harm in it, if you only hurt folks like that. The guy broke in. You made sure it would never happen again. That guy will probably never break into any house, any where, ever again. Net-positive result, I'd say. But then... I have a bit more experience with sociopathy than the next average Joe. :)

You seem to get enjoyment from either physically or mentally overpowering or outwitting other people. You also seem to lack any empathy for these people or remorse for you actions. I'm glad you taught the burglar a lesson, I just hope you don't continue down this path. As you say it's a fine line your treading.

Exactly my point and the line is becoming more blurry as time goes on. My fear is one day, probably not soon but well into the future, something will happen when I've got a lot of stress in tension like a piece of elastic, and something will just snap, probably causing one very bad reaction in my head.
I highly recommend getting a confidant whom you truly trust and telling them about this blurring line issue. If they respond with "go see a doctor" or some other shit then play it off like you were joking. You want somebody that wont talk but will just keep an eye on you. That way they can be a 3rd party observer that can pull you aside and tell you if you're starting to go overboard. It is very reassuring to have a sort of fail safe in case you lose control of your self.

I'd like to volunteer for what MagicMan suggested. :D
