Title: What's the deal with this +/- karma thing?

Whats up with this karma thing by peoples name?  Is it some kind of rating system on the board or some shit?

I'm still new - I'm guessing that you can only give karma after you get to a certain post count?  Can someone fill me in there too?  I looked this up in the SMF manual, and they just say that you can turn it on - not really how it works....

And yes - answer to your question - it's like points.  If you help someone out people will +1 you, or if you're a jerk, people can -1 you... (I'm assuming as I can't do this - or can't figure out how to do it yet)...

After 100 posts you can + or - someone. Other then that Tienamen got it right.

Wondering why the fuk ive got negative karma!?  >:( fair enough i havnt helped anyone out but its not like im being a 'jerk' or am i !?  ??? I admit i am new to the community, maybe my posts are wrong or sumthin... im guessing wit negative karma on ur profile no one will wanna do business either!

Imho people should stop with +/- topics, kinda pointles i think.
In some skid forums like hackforums or others it may have a value for skids like feeling you got more green bar and your a 1337 h4x0r or if your negg reped your the worst person ever lived.
but here everyone i see  have + and - even if those Legit seller/buyer and no one realy cares, only repp whores lmfao.

are ppl really judging you as a buyer based on the way u use shortcuts on the keyboard?  and is it truly offensive to do so?  as a buyer i will always have my money right and ask for nothing, but i will instead be judged on my manner of text typing? as lazy?  really? i didnt know i was being graded on grammer and capitalizations, rather on whether i was professional enough to maintain  positive buyer rep thru business deals. is this true? :-X

oh NOW  i get it...slowly but surely im catchin up!  ok, that makes perfect sense about the addresses and capitalizations n stuff...see, i never woulda knowed it! ;) i wouldnt do it for anyone else but damned if im gonna piss my vendors off...perfect grammar and captlztn to follow.. :-\
