Customer Support / Re: Where is my support claimed answer

anongreenguy,

There's actually a third option - we are a work in progress. Right now there are a whole lot of people doing a whole lot of waiting. The vast majority of them understand that while the situation is not ideal, we are not a typical entity - like, say, Amazon - and things have to be done carefully and deliberately.

When this site launched it was stated in the initial message that we are to be considered in 'beta' mode. We are constantly growng and evolving and old problems are dealt with as previously undiscovered ones come to light. This is the reality we are in. While we work through the issues noted in the Known Bugs thread ( http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion/index.php?topic=17508.0 ) we ask for your continued patience and understanding.

I can put myself in your shoes and feel your pain, but I cannot bring myself to make the assumptions and comments that you have. I'm not going anywhere and neither is the rest of this team, and we will work through your problem as soon as we are physically able to do so.

Hi Joyce,

Still on the case. We are waiting for updates to go live that will allow us to correct these issues much faster - please see this thread:

http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion/index.php?topic=19618.0

I empathize with everyone experiencing these issues - just please be continue to be patient as you have been thus far. The saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day,' though it applies in this case, does nothing to ease the pains of those experiencing the bugs that are being worked on but you will be sorted as soon as it is physically possible.

Silk Road is not a static item but a journey we are all going down together. Sometimes it is a rough road, sometimes it is smooth sailing, but we're all writing history here and in the grand scheme of things this initial rough patch will be nothing but a tiny blip on the radar of our memories. I promise you this.

jbastida,

Do you know how to use PGP encryption?

If so, please send me a PGP encrypted PM with the deposit addresses you tried exactly as they were put into your bitcoin client.

If you do not know how to use PGP encryption, please go to this thread:  silkroad5v7dywlc.onion/index.php?topic=14555.0 - read the section on PGP.

Then , please send me the encrypted PM containing the addresses.

Please, no matter what you do, do not send me those addresses unless you have encrypted them. My key is in my profile.

We'll figure out where you are going wrong.

Hi Clu, you along with two other mods seem to be the only ones to actually care about our complaints. I'm not sure if you are aware but do you think people will ever get support or is that wishful thinking? Just asking

I'll go ahead and step in here - yes, you will receive support and in fact are already receiving it. We are not happy with wait times as they are and that is being addressed as we speak. DoctorClu, myself, and everyone else with blue or orange blocks on this forum will continue to strive to be better every day.

The improvements you are going to see in the near term will completely blow you away. Take me at my word or don't, but when the time comes you will be very impressed.

Immikejones,

Bitcoin transactions are permanently and publicly recorded in what is known as the blockchain. You would not want to open, say, a coinbase account under your true identity and then purchcase coins and transfer them directly to your silk road account.

General guidelines are to split a deposit up among as many different wallets and similarly sized transactions so as to eliminate the link between the sending and receiving wallets. This is done through various means including bitcoin mixing (including time) and creative ways of procuring coin initially.

Read up. If someone spells it all out for you it is less likely you will understand the gravity and importance of what you are doing.

As an aside to this excellent comment,

We are more than a marketplace, we are a movement. A movement with many, many who believe in our cause.

The day is coming soon when the majority of the bugs listed in the known issues thread will be fixed and it will be smooth sailing - our ship is being built to sail through the roughest seas and the harshest storms as though it were in calm waters..

We are a relatively new site and already we are making history every day while being on the bleeding edge of technology.

We are really doing something here people, and whether you are a supporter or a detractor, you are here and you are playing a role in the writing of history.

I am proud to walk beside all of you.

Have you looked at the sticky perchance?

I don't see how I can make it much more imperative by the wording of the title that vendors not cancel their bond order.

Take a look and then give me your feedback.

The current pace is the current pace - it is not about the number of devs, it is about the security of the site.

We cannot for obvious reasons discuss it beyond letting you know that for, also obvious, reasons every single piece of this website has to be rigorously tested and retested for vulnerabilities due to the nature of the business we conduct here.

We have not only random hackers to worry about but some of the brightest minds in the scene working for the US government trying to bring this thing down. Remember that people, we are not eBay or Amazon. We exist to further the cause of freedom against those who wish us not to have even the freedom over our own bodies.

Our development team could not be more qualified or more apt and able to do the job that is required of them. It is simply the job that is required of them is magnified in difficulty when it must be performed on the darknet. Clearnet solutions and optimizations simply do not always work here and certainly do not jive with our theme of absolute security.

What's happening with the bond refund issue?

We are working on a way to reinstate the vendors who have cancelled themselves - by "we" I refer to our development team who is constantly working on the list of priorities listed at the top of this page and on the bugs prioritized P1 through P5 in the bug reports section.

This is on their radar but please understand they can not drop everything at once - securty is always first on this marketplace.

I empathize with you but I would rather the admin and devs be working on the issue than spending time here on the forums talking about working on the issue. Trust me when I tell you they have been made aware.

Again the staff appreciates your patience and understanding.
