My honest opinion, DPR ran a tight ship as you know and he didn't give admins those kind of privileges, they could move small amounts of btc to resolve resolutions but they couldn't do what you speculate. I know you're gutted, fuck I was pissed at what I lost but it was nothing compared to you but hoping there was a plan b with someone else able to flush the coins is a waste of time I'm afraid, I know that's fucked but the admins were just paid staff, they were not entrusted with the ability to access millions of dollars worth of btc.

They shared the same philosophical libertarian views, they are not one and the same though.

Anyway that aside you are right re the OPSEC issue, I think there are a LOT of potentially compromised people right now, I can only imagine how many people didn't encrypt sensitive info when communicating on the forums and market site.

It is good to remain cautious, I for one haven't pgp verified myself yet by signing a message but I just wanted to comment on the post where someone said why was it so hard to make a back up, speaking for myself in the moments after seeing the news unfold making backups where not in the forefront of my thinking nor inigos I am sure, as I took a massive screwdriver to ripping the hard drives out of my computers and tearing my house apart looking for anything potentially incriminating I was more more worried about the immediate future and not coming back here weeks later trying to verify myself.

If it's inigo I am sure we will know soon enough, a pgp signed message only proves someone has access to someone's pgp anyway, I'd put more stock in other verification methods and not just relying on one method.

Anyway the point I wanted to make is hindsight is a wonderful thing.
