Title: Symantec Encryption Desktop
Post by: Newguy321 on July 13, 2013, 01:51 am

Does anyone use Symantec Encryption Desktop for their PGP's? I have it but I am lost on how to find my PGP key on there.  I see a place that I can decrypt emails but nowhere do I see a key like the ones I see on here. Under key it just shows some hexi decimal thing??????

I have no clue what that software is doing by default, but it may or may not be compatible.  Either way, you probably really don't want to use it.  They're a big company subject to the US gov't; as in, it's almost certainly got a backdoor.

That is a terrible software to use.  Get a VM with a VPN as a first layer of protection

Anyone??????

I recommend a shift to TAILS, a very secure linux distro. You can boot directly from a USB into a secure linux environment  - avoiding Windows completely.

Search the 'Security' forum for an excellent tutorial explaining everything you'll need to know about TAILS.

pb.
