Title: BTC Withdrawal Help
Post by: Nightgoat on April 06, 2013, 03:33 am
Ok, so I'll say up front that I'm a total noob. The good news about this is that it's probably an easy question to answer. The bad news is that I'm a noob, lol. I just made my first BTC withdrawal from my wallet to my account (maybe) about an hour ago. The first time I tried it said "insufficient funds" so I dropped the amount by .05 and tried again. This time it took me to basically a blank page. I didn't make not of the URL but I didn't see that it was a page that was still loading. It was done loading. I gave it around 6 minutes and it was still a blank page so I hit the back button and tried another withdrawal for the same amount. This time I get "insufficient funds" again. Tried a few more times eventually dropping by .3. Each time I get the "insufficient funds" message. My wallet and SR account balances have not changed yet. My question is if the 2nd transaction I made that went to the blank screen worked and I just need to wait until tomorrow to see the change or not. It doesn't make sense to me that dropping down by .3 BTC would still give me IF error unless that 2nd one was successful and I truly do have IF because it's processing. Am I being too impatient or too paranoid, or am I missing something or doing something wrong? Can an admin check something like this for me? Also, I show no account history yet. Dunno what that's supposed to show me or how often it's updated but just FYI in case that helps. NE assistance would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not enough information to tell you (exactly what service did you send the coins from?), but it's standard for it to take several hours to hit your SR account.  On occasion it can even take up to 24 hours.  If you still don't have any funds after that, you'll need to contact support over on the SR site (the forums can't do anything but advise you).

You transferred money from a wallet outside of SR into SR? If so, your btc should leave your wallet immediately, but often takes some time to hit your SR account. If you transferred from SR to an outside wallet then your account history section should show the amount transferred but have a blank space where the wallet address should be. That's for your security. Basically, if your transfer worked, from either end, then the btc should immediately have been deducted. I hope that makes sense, AB.

Have you factored in the transaction fee? the numbers you are quoting should more than cover any transaction fee though, it's normally set as a default of 0.0005 BTC or something like that. not sure what service you are using i.e. what wallet.

As SS stated it can take several hours to hit your account if your transfer worked, looks like it hasn't so far. Maybe give some more info as there is not enough in the OP to enable someone to provide a proper response.

Ok, just to prove my newbness I, apparently, forgot my pword or fat-fingered it the first time so I had to create a new acct. To add more details, I made a bitinstant/zipzap->blockchain.info wallet->sr depost. Does that help?

If you are unable to remember your password I think you may want to give yourself an uppercut and start over  :P
