I can see how you'd make that mistake zookoll. In fact I've seen dozens of people make the same one. But this is why it's such a good idea to not throw stones unless you're quite sure you know what's going on -- the system may be retarded for not showing you your true balance, but it's pretty silly to think you know why something's retarded when in reality it's your mistake and not the "retard's."
There's also the matter of the transaction fee. It can take days for a transaction to get into a block and be confirmed if you don't pay the recommended fee, which would be terrible customer service. So there's that little extra you aren't seeing as well.
You're right though. It's dumb not to show the user their real balance.
